So, if she’s the only one in the class of ’22 who’s really out for now, if her existence can provide cover for half her graduating class to stand up for something without saying things about themselves they can’t yet say, that’s enough. That’s plenty.

Well, Louie, you’ll know then that Leviticus also tells us not to cut our beards, not to wear linen and wool together nor to eat crayfish or frogs or snails. I’m afraid that if we adhered to Leviticus the entire French nation would be an abomination in the eyes of the Lord.
Paula Boock (Dare Truth or Promise)
Just because everyone here knows who you are, and everyone talks about everyone else’s business, that doesn’t mean it’s impossible to be the person you know you are. There are things out there for you that you haven’t even thought of yet, that you don’t even know how to think of yet. Who you are here doesn’t have to be the same as who you are out there. And if the person you feel like you have to be in this town doesn’t feel right to you, you’re allowed to leave. You’re allowed to exist. Even if it means existing somewhere else.
Casey McQuiston (I Kissed Shara Wheeler)

Damian Barr (Maggie & Me)
the man i went on a date with did more than try to "cure me" of my asexuality it's funny because i never thought someone's penis would be considered an antidote of any kind and i don't think that's what my doctor meant when he told me i needed more Vitamin D in my diet but apparently my sexuality was enough of a diagnosis for him to decide to play doctor with me maybe he should’ve put his stethoscope up to my mouth instead of between my breasts maybe then he would’ve heard me when i told him to stop it
Courtney Carola (Have Some Pride: A Collection of LGBTQ+ Inspired Poetry)
Remember. This is your story, no matter what history will claim or what songs people sing. And it’s no one’s place to stop you from telling it.

they want us to believe that to be queer, to be trans, to be confused, to be questioning is equivalent to being a sinner but conveniently forget that we are all sinners in God’s eyes that every day we all sin that sin dates all the way back to Adam and Eve, and ever since then we have all been deemed sinners in God’s eyes but sinners can be forgiven
Courtney Carola (Have Some Pride: A Collection of LGBTQ+ Inspired Poetry)

Lily Rooke (We Become Shadows (Bloodwitch, #2))
Can you imagine, somebody telling you, your love for your dearly beloved is a sin! Can you imagine, somebody telling you, women are inferior to men, and are meant only serve the men! Can you imagine, somebody telling you, a man can have multiple wives, and yet be deemed civilized! Here that somebody is a fundamentalist ape - a theoretical pest from the stone-age, that somehow managed to survive even amidst all the rise of reasoning and intellect.

they want us to believe that the way we love is wrong “and a man who will lie down with a male in a woman’s bed both of them have made an abomination.” but conveniently forget how David’s and Jonathan’s souls were knit together, that the two of them had a bond between the two of them that was too strong to ignore that the two of them formed a covenant with one another. “the soul of Jonathan was knit to the soul of David, and Jonathan loved him as his own soul.” that David preferred the love of Jonathan to the love of any woman
Courtney Carola (Have Some Pride: A Collection of LGBTQ+ Inspired Poetry)
She will write and write. She will finish this book, then write another. She will remain sane and she will live as she was meant to live, richly and deeply, among others of her kind, in full possession and command of her gifts.
Michael Cunningham (The Hours)
Names are like selkie-skins, often carelessly attended, left in view of those who would misuse them. Utilized incorrectly, though, they can kill a man, can turn a girl to a thing of teeth and dead eyes, an appetite to devour worlds; can make infernos of maidens, phoenixes of bones who have been asleep for so long they've forgotten the shape of rage. Names have so much power.
Cassandra Khaw (The Salt Grows Heavy)
Jesus, could you stop being an obtuse fucking asshole for, like, twenty seconds?" "So glad you flew here to insult me-" "I fucking love you, okay?" Alex half yells, finally, irreversibly. Henry goes very still against the mantelpiece. Alex watches him swallow, watches the muscle that keeps twitching in his jaw, and feels like he might shake out of his skin. "Fuck, I swear. You don't make it fucking easy. But I'm in love with you.
Red, White, & Royal Blue
It means you're perfect just the way you are. Don't let anyone convince you otherwise.
Evelyn Benvie (I Am Not Your Chosen One (Not Your Chosen, #1))
Living in a world that is grossly opposed to who you are, the bravest and most radical thing to do is to be yourself. And being a part of the LGBT+ community is just that – brave.
Courtney Carola (Have Some Pride: A Collection of LGBTQ+ Inspired Poetry)

You misquote me. It's NOT "Aah." It's "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!
Jock Camp (How To Suck Cock Deep)
The value of a sex manual does not lie in its length or duration, but whether or not the problem it addresses works.
Jock Camp (How To Suck Cock Deep)
The right way to do any social work is to work until you're not needed anymore.

They cry because they care about your opinion, but you don't.
Aryan Jain (Glitches In The Heaven)
Real life doesn't give anyone a 'get out of jail free' card. SHIT HAPPENS! No one is exempt. Some struggles don't give us an option for a second try. There are no 'do-overs'. We learn by living!
Paul Bradford (The Sum of All the Pieces: Surviving Life's Challenges and Bad Decisions)
my blood runs pink (for my sexuality that is mine to embrace, not yours to strike with lightning bolts of change) and red (for the life i will continue to live, the life you cannot take away from me) and orange (for my siblings who heal me with their love and understanding, helping me piece myself back together after you tried to break me) and yellow (for the sunlight from within that still manages to shine in these dark times) and green (for existing in the natural, physical world when all you want is my disappearance) and blue (for the serenity we bring amidst the disturbances we face) and purple (for my spirit, which won’t be broken) (it can never be broken and you will never break us)
Courtney Carola (Have Some Pride: A Collection of LGBTQ+ Inspired Poetry)
Thank you for this. This is something else that I was thinking that you finally put into words. There are so many good points that I have made and rants I worked my ASS off making and they were just left on the side of the road like roadkill and blatantly ignored. I'm sick of that. When you misgender poor Ansel who was just here living their life and really didnt ask to be objectified, that was the final straw. I'm still on the fence about leaving since I don't want it to be completely final, and I want to defend myself if I can. But I hope you all realized the harm in what you have said. Sure, we can debate about LGBTQ+, and your position means that we may never be friends, but still. RESPECT my friends.
andrea (in response to Nina's speech)
Black women are the tall trees that remain standing in a forest after a fire. They carry themselves like royal oak trees; mighty. untouchable. From below, you can see our tight spirals and our limbs stretching. We have been hurt; our sweet sap coughing out of our mouths and oozing down from our eyes. They cut off our sprouting gardens on our heads. We are trampled down in deforestation…What about the little trees watching our mothers and fathers fall from grace? Is America listening? Why have you lied?
Isabel Villarreal (Brown Clay)
I wondered what it felt like to see yourself reflected in every movie, to have friends and family constantly dropping fun little hints about your love life, to have a world open up to you in all its magnificence. What did it feel like to not have to think about your every move, to not be scrutinized for everything you did, to not have to lie everyday?... I told myself that it must have felt really dull to be straight... This affliction is what makes me smarter. This disadvantage is what gives me my ambition. This is what first inspired me to write.
Garrard Conley (Boy Erased: A Memoir of Identity, Faith, and Family)
You don't need to cut out the heart in your chest so other people can breathe. You just need to let them use their lungs. The right of someone to breathe does not detract from your heartbeat. We must not fear the lives that others live. Someone else going to Heaven doesn't mean you're going to Hell. Someone else going to Hell does not mean you're going to burn too. We must not fear the freedom that others have. You don't need to stop breathing so other people can keep their lungs. You just need to let them breathe. Why don't we all put a final end to the limitations that we think we are born into? They're not real. They don't exist.
C. JoyBell C.
Be decisive. Be an inspiration. Take fate by the balls. Live large, or die trying.
Halo Scot (Elegy of the Void (Rift Cycle, #4))
We siren scream the trauma from our bellies, we laugh like we’re in adolescence, we dance in the glow covered in charms…Our giggles die down, the sea flowers burst and you know the sea is worthy of you and the storm before was not.
Isabel Villarreal (Brown Clay)

In a world that thrives on diversity, the LGBTQ+ community stands as a testament to the beauty of authenticity and the strength of the human spirit. We are a tapestry of vibrant colors, interwoven with the threads of love, courage, and resilience. Our existence is not defined by societal norms but by the unwavering belief that love knows no boundaries. In embracing our true selves, we challenge the confines of convention and rewrite the narrative of what it means to be human. We are the bold pioneers who refuse to be silenced, forging paths of acceptance and equality for future generations. Through every step we take, we paint a brighter tomorrow, where love is celebrated in all its forms. Our community is a symphony of voices, harmonizing in a chorus of authenticity. From every corner of the globe, we rise above prejudice and discrimination, demanding recognition, respect, and the right to love freely. We are the embodiment of resilience, turning adversity into opportunity, and transforming hate into understanding. In our journey, we find solace in unity. We stand shoulder to shoulder, a collective force that cannot be ignored. We are family, friends, and allies, bound by compassion and a shared commitment to creating a world where everyone is embraced for who they are. Our pride radiates like a beacon, illuminating the path towards a society that celebrates diversity and champions equality. We are the architects of change, dismantling the walls of ignorance and prejudice. With every act of love and every act of defiance, we redefine the boundaries of possibility. So let the world bear witness to the kaleidoscope of love that we embody. Let our colors shine unapologetically, guiding others towards a future where acceptance is the norm. Together, we will continue to paint the world with the brushstrokes of compassion, understanding, and love, leaving a legacy of inclusivity that will endure for generations to come. In a world that can sometimes be gray, let us be the vibrant hues that light up the sky, reminding all that love has no limits, and the LGBTQ+ community is a testament to the infinite power of the human heart.

the real problem is dogs can take a piss in public but human beings are still fighting to
Courtney Carola (Have Some Pride: A Collection of LGBTQ+ Inspired Poetry)
God is fighting for us, for we are His children first and foremost God loves us for who we are, for who He made us out to be and there is no greater sin than to try and convince us otherwise.
Courtney Carola (Have Some Pride: A Collection of LGBTQ+ Inspired Poetry)
I have learned that we all contain multitudes and hypocrisies and that change is slow moving. I've learned that reconciliation has to occur between the parts of ourselves that are fragmented and wounded.
Parker T. Hurley
We talk about what love is and what it isn't self-assuredly, telling each other what looks right and wrong.

This change in naming is life-giving for women, certainly, but for all of humanity, too, shifting all those relationships... All throughout the Scriptures, we see this tradition in which a new name signals a new reality.
