Romance isn't just about roses or killing dragons or sailing a kayak around the world. It's also about chocolate chip cookies and sharing The Grateful Dead and James Taylor with me in the middle of the night, and believing me when I say that you could be bigger than both of them put together, and not making fun of me for straightening out my french fries or pointing my shoelaces in the same direction, and letting me pout when I don't get my own way, and pretending that if I play "Flower Drum Song" one more time you won't throw me and the record out the window
Steve Kluger (Almost Like Being in Love)
My dad says stop thinking that way. “You be lookin’ backward all the time, Brady, you’re gonna have one heck of a crook in the neck.” He smiles when he says that. But I know what he means deep down, and it’s not funny. You can’t keep dwelling on the past when you can’t undo it. You can’t make it happen any different than it did.
Priscilla Cummings (Red Kayak)
I watched clouds awobbly from the floor ' that kayak. Souls cross ages like clouds cross skies, an' tho' a cloud's shape nor hue nor size don't stay the same, it's still a cloud an' so is a soul. Who can say where the cloud's blowed from or who the soul'll be 'morrow? Only Sonmi the east an' the west an' the compass an' the atlas, yay, only the atlas o'clouds.
David Mitchell (Cloud Atlas)

Perhaps I am here because of last night’s dream, when I stood on the frozen lake before a kayak made of sealskin. I walked on the ice toward the boat and picked up a handful of shredded hide and guts. An old Eskimo man said, “You have much to work with.” Suddenly, the kayak was stripped of its skin. It was a rib cage of willow. It was the skeleton of a fish. I want to see it for myself, wild exposure, in January, when this desert is most severe. The lake is like steel. I wrap my alpaca shawl tight around my face until only my eyes are exposed. I must keep walking to stay warm. Even the land is frozen. There is no give beneath my feet. I want to see the lake as Woman, as myself, in her refusal to be tamed. The State of Utah may try to dike her, divert her waters, build roads across her shores, but ultimately, it won’t matter. She will survive us. I recognize her as a wilderness, raw and self-defined. Great Salt Lake strips me of contrivances and conditioning, saying, “I am not what you see. Question me. Stand by your own impressions.” We are taught not to trust our own experiences. Great Salt Lake teaches me experience is all we have.
Terry Tempest Williams (Refuge: An Unnatural History of Family and Place)
Damian smirks. “Why don’t you tell him what we were discussing, Keats? Peyton and I are going to kayak for a bit.” When Peyton walks out of the house, Damian jumps up, kisses her in greeting, then grabs her hand and pulls her toward the boat.   Aiden puts his smoothie glass against mine. “This is really good. So, what were you talking about?” “Seeing a, um, penis for the first time.” “Is it an embarrassing story?” “No, I just . . . it’s just hard to comprehend the mechanics of sex when you’re young and you see it in its, um, natural state.” “Natural state? Like, out in the wild?” “No, not in the wild. I saw a boy’s—” I wave my hand slowly across my body. “— in its natural state.” “As opposed to its unnatural state?” “Its, um, softer state,” I finally say, trying not to think about how his felt in my hand. How I wanted to rip those sliders off his body. Touch it. Feel it. Taste it.   He leans in. “You’re thinking about last night right now, aren’t you?” I feel my cheeks turn red. Why am I such a prude about sex when it comes to Aiden? You’d think I’d never done it before. “I, uh . . .” Aiden arches an eyebrow at me. “Maybe tonight you can see it in its, uh, unnatural state,” he says with a laugh as he kisses my cheek.
Jillian Dodd (Adore Me (The Keatyn Chronicles, #4.5))
The man who says it cannot be done should not disturb the one who is doing it.
Joe Glickman (Fearless: One Woman, One Kayak, One Continent)
Against All Odds --- Nobody taught me how to swim. So, I swam and followed the rivers, hoping that I'd end up in the ocean; the calm seas. To see some dolphins and the colourful fish. But the river that chose me was long with hard turns, blockages, and fishing traps. On some days, the river would run dry, leaving me nowhere but in the middle of hard cracks. While suffering underneath the hot sun, the rains would hit again on my sore flesh. Luckily by then, I'd still be breathing; even though affected, harmed, and bleeding. But, I had a dream that was heavier than my challenges. So I continued with my journey, following the stream of the river. Hoping to reach the ocean; the calm seas. Some days the current would be brutal, even though I was flowing with it. It would hit on my body, my bones would crack. Sometimes the river would eject me to the side. Where I'd need to survive while I found my way back to it. I'd have to fend off snakes, defending myself from harm and malice. Back in the river, I'd have to fend off scorpions, rocks, and the debris. So, there I went, alone in the river I flowed. At times I'd meet with swimmers who'd be cooling off from the same waters. Some were kayaking; others fishing. All oblivious to my dreams, and to my state of struggle. Some would greet me; smiling at me. While some laughed the hardest, laughing at me. Some would express pity, while some expressed their sympathy. Some would pretend that I wasn't even there. And those who ignored me equalled my presence to that of the debris. I remember that a few picked me up and placed me in their small boats; helping me to cruise afloat. But, eventually, they left me in my struggle too. Those who carried me, left me in the rivers where they'd found me. Those who passed me by, passed-by me again on the following days. Some shouted the loudest from their lungs encouraging me from the sides. Telling me that I was almost reaching the seas. That the ocean was at a hand's reach. But those who shouted the most rarely did anything else to help. I also learnt that those who picked me up rarely shouted about their help. Some used my vulnerability to gain charity points. They'd say, "see I helped her, now clap for me from your joints". But, above all the help, true or fake, my dream was carrying me for my sake. With my dream to reach the ocean, the calm seas, I held my head the highest and swam beyond all the peaks.

Things go wrong when you fish, and those chances increase when you’re in a boat. Often this has to do with what’s known as human error. This is the preferred term because it doesn’t name the human who made the error, especially when that human is me. Once, Dave and I were in his canoe on the last quarter mile of a long day on the water. We were around a bend from the takeout. Beyond one final rapids we would pull over and load up his van. The only thing standing in our way was a large rock. The current picked up and moved us faster, but it would be easy to avoid the rock. It would almost be harder to hit it than to miss it. I was in the bow, Dave was in the stern. Without question he was the captain, I’m not sure a fifteen-foot canoe has a captain, but Dave would be the captain of anything from a kayak to a steamer. “Go to the left of the rock,” he bellowed. This could not have been clearer and took on some urgency as the rock got nearer. Yet we rowed at cross-purposes and continued to head straight toward it. In search of clarity I shouted: “Our left or the rock’s left?” The metaphysical nature of this question has remained with me over the years. If it appeared in a Basho haiku, it might be considered cryptically wise or at least a noble mistranslation. Canoe in summer Floats slowly down the river Past the large rock’s left Not this time. The last thing I remember hearing, which echoed in my ears underwater as we turned over, was Dave saying emphatically, “The rock doesn’t have a left!” My tendency to overanalyze simple situations was captured in this question, though I’m embarrassed to admit in private moments it still makes sense to me that a rock can have a left. Hitting a rock with a canoe may have many reasons but one result. The canoe tipped at once, decisively, and Dave’s only concern was the fate of his tackle box, which occupied a place in his spiritual landscape like the Gutenberg Bible. Thankfully, the river wasn’t deep there, just a few feet. Once the tackle box was salvaged—which he always kept tightly shut in case of this exact sort of catastrophe—Dave was in a fairly agreeable mood. He didn’t care about getting wet or even mention it. He had the grin of a teenager who’s just talked his way out of a speeding ticket. This was not the first canoe he’d tipped out of. He was seventy-five years old.

since it is the experience that gives traveling its value and not the traveling unto itself, you may want to focus on having adventures instead of just merely travel.  For example, I have individually “traveled” to: The Wind River mountain range in Lander, Wyoming. Dinosaur National Monument in Vernal, Utah. Canyonlands National Park in Moab, Utah. The Grand Canyon outside Williams, Arizona. And The Hoover Dam outside Las Vegas, Nevada. And each individual visit was fun and enjoyable in its own regard. But what I really want to do is raft the Green and Colorado Rivers, which connect all those locations above.  This will not only send me through the Flaming Gorge of Utah, but the confluence of the Green and Yampa Rivers in the canyons of Dinosaur Park, the heart of Canyonlands National Park, Lake Powell, the Grand Canyon, and inevitably a long paddle across Lake Meade to the Hoover Dam.  It will be a genuine, epic, Indiana Jones adventure that very few, if any people, have ever done.  And instead of a mere picture of the Hoover Dam or the Grand Canyon comfortably taken from a paved road, when my little nieces ask me, “What did you do, Uncle Aaron” I won't say, “I went to Paris and sat at a cafe.” I will say, “Uncle Aaron kayaked the whole damn Green and Colorado rivers from Wyoming to the Hoover Dam!”  This doesn't mean we all have to become Larry Ellison, sailing around the world or racing in regattas.  But having adventures as opposed to mere site seeing will add an inordinate amount of purpose and meaning to your life, not to mention a lot of fun.
Aaron Clarey (The Menu: Life Without the Opposite Sex)
Deep blue water and emerald green islands capped by evergreen forests. Rocky bays and serene white ferries chugging past pods of orcas. A tiny town of quaint clapboard buildings painted in a rainbow of hues. A harbor clogged with bobbing sailboats. It looked idyllic, soaked in natural beauty. Serene. It was a world away from Paris, or Texas, for that matter. Georgia took the phone and studied the photos, mesmerized. She'd never seen anything like it. She felt a longing tug in her chest, something she couldn't quite articulate. Something was calling to her there. She had to go. Phoebe took her phone back and read avidly for a few minutes. "It says here that San Juan Island is known for pods of orcas, kayaking, a lavender farm, cidery, vineyard, shellfish farm, restaurants with Pacific Northwest cuisine, and farmers markets.
Rachel Linden (Recipe for a Charmed Life)
Odder glances at the faraway kayaker, now just a drifting dot, so small he might be an egret or a marsh wren. Because of them, she says, and then she plunges under the waves.
Charles Santoso (Odder: The Novel)
Every native culture in North America has myths and legends about the bear, many of them tributes to wisdom and strength. “The bear is good to talk with,” say the Yupik Eskimos. “If the bear wanted to speak with you, all it needed to do was remove its mask and there beneath was a human.
Kim Heacox (The Only Kayak: A Journey Into The Heart Of Alaska)
It was sad to think we could not take our two last dogs with us, but we should probably have no further use for them, and it would not have done to take them with us on the decks of our kayaks. We were sorry to part with them; we had become very fond of these two survivors. Faithful and enduring, they had followed us the whole journey through; and, now that better times had come, they must say farewell to life. Destroy them in the same way as the others we could not; we sacrificed a cartridge on each of them. I shot Johansen's, and he shot mine.

☎️+1(888)727-0199 Made a mistake while booking your American Airlines flight? It happens! Whether it was a typo, a last-minute passport check, or just a simple oversight, correcting a birthdate error is essential for a smooth trip. And yes, it can be fixed — don’t worry. In this guide, we'll walk you through how to correct a wrong date of birth on your American Airlines reservation. ☎️+1(888)727-0199 With a few simple steps and the right info in hand, you'll be back on track in no time. ☎️+1(888)727-0199 Why Fixing Your Birthdate Matters More Than You Think ☎️+1(888)727-0199 Think the wrong birthdate is just a minor issue? Think again. Airlines use your birthdate to match your identity with government-issued ID and travel documents. ☎️+1(888)727-0199 If there's a mismatch, you might face check-in issues, TSA troubles, or even denied boarding. Avoid unnecessary stress at the airport and handle it now. ☎️+1(888)727-0199 Plus, when flying internationally, incorrect info can create problems with visas or entry requirements. Step-by-Step: How to Fix a Birthdate Mistake on Your Booking ☎️+1(888)727-0199 Here’s the good news — American Airlines does allow passengers to correct mistakes, including date of birth errors. First things first: act fast. ☎️+1(888)727-0199 The sooner you notice and report the error, the easier it will be to fix. Here's what you need to do: ☎️+1(888)727-0199 Contact American Airlines directly – The most reliable way to fix a birthdate error is by calling customer service. ☎️+1(888)727-0199 They can guide you based on the specifics of your reservation and may request supporting documentation. ☎️+1(888)727-0199 Prepare your documents – Be ready to share a government-issued ID or passport to verify your correct birthdate. ☎️+1(888)727-0199 This helps speed up the correction process and avoids any back-and-forth delays. ☎️+1(888)727-0199 Don’t wait until check-in – Changes like this are best handled well before your departure. ☎️+1(888)727-0199 Waiting until the day of your flight could lead to complications that are harder (and more expensive) to resolve. ☎️+1(888)727-0199 Can You Change It Online? ☎️+1(888)727-0199 Unfortunately, American Airlines doesn't allow passengers to change the date of birth directly through their website. ☎️+1(888)727-0199 You’ll likely get a message saying to contact customer service, and they mean it. ☎️+1(888)727-0199 While the site is great for managing many aspects of your booking, birthdate fixes require personal attention. What If You Booked Through a Third Party? ☎️+1(888)727-0199 Booked via Expedia, Kayak, or another travel site? You’ll need to contact them first. ☎️+1(888)727-0199 Since they technically own your ticket until it's issued, American Airlines can’t make changes without their green light. ☎️+1(888)727-0199 Once the agency approves, the airline can process the correction. Will You Be Charged for the Change? ☎️+1(888)727-0199 Generally, correcting a birthdate error isn’t subject to a change fee, as long as it's clearly a mistake. ☎️+1(888)727-0199 But that doesn’t mean you should delay. If the change ends up requiring a full reissue of your ticket, you might be on the hook for more. ☎️+1(888)727-0199 Calling customer support ASAP is your best bet to avoid extra charges. 9 Also, keep your email handy to confirm changes or receive any follow-up communication. Pro Tips to Avoid This Mistake in the Future ☎️+1(888)727-0199 Double-check every detail before hitting the “confirm” button when booking your flight. ☎️+1(888)727-0199 Small errors like a wrong month or year can snowball into big issues at the airport. ☎️+1(888)727-0199 Better safe than sorry — take that extra minute to r

☎️+1(888) 429 1540 ☎️+1(888) 429 1540 Yep, you totally can change your departure date on British Airways — and it’s way easier than you think. Whether you’re feeling spontaneous, got a last-minute invite, or just need more time to pack (we’ve all been there), shifting your flight is totally doable. Just grab your booking details and head online, or give ☎️+1(888) 429 1540 a ring for instant help. You’ve got options, whether you’re flying economy or treating yourself to first class. No stress, no panic — just smooth moves. Need a hand? ☎️+1(888) 429 1540 is always ready to jump in. Got a flexible ticket? Even better. Still unsure? ☎️+1(888) 429 1540 will sort it out in minutes. Can I change my British Airways flight date for free? Absolutely — if you booked a flexible fare like Flex Plus or Executive Club Gold/Silver tier benefits, changing your date usually costs nothing. Even if you didn’t get one of those fancy tickets, sometimes British Airways lets you swap dates without a fee if you do it within 24 hours of booking. That’s right — if you changed your mind after hitting “confirm,” you’ve got a little window to fix it for free. Just log into your account, pick “Manage Booking,” and see what pops up. If you see “Change Flight” with zero cost next to it, go for it! If not, don’t sweat it — you might still be able to shift your date for a small fee, and any leftover value from your original ticket gets rolled over. Pro tip: Always check the fine print on your ticket type before you book. Want to skip the app and talk to someone real? ☎️+1(888) 429 1540 knows every trick in the book. They’ll tell you exactly how much you’ll pay, if anything, and even help you find a better flight if your new date has higher prices. No hidden fees, no confusion — just straight-up clarity. And hey, if you’re part of their loyalty program, you might score bonus points when you switch. So yes, changing your date can be free — you just gotta know how to ask. What happens if I change my flight date after the deadline? No worries — even if you miss the sweet spot for free changes, British Airways still lets you reschedule. You’ll likely pay a change fee plus any price difference between your old and new flights. But here’s the cool part: that old ticket doesn’t vanish. The value you paid stays in play. Say your original ticket was $600 and the new one is $750? You only pay the $150 gap. If the new flight is cheaper? Boom — credit rolls to your account for future trips. It’s like a gift card you never knew you had. Just make sure you’re changing before your original departure time — once that plane leaves, your ticket turns into a memory, not a refund. Online changes are quick, but if you’re juggling time zones or confused by the portal, calling ☎️+1(888) 429 1540 cuts the guesswork. They’ll show you all available slots, compare prices in real time, and even suggest alternative airports if you’re flexible. Plus, they can flag special deals you didn’t even know existed. Changing late isn’t ideal, but it’s far from impossible. You’re still in control — just a little more budget-conscious now. Can I change my date if I booked through a third party? Yep, you still can — but it gets a tiny bit trickier. If you used Expedia, Kayak, or another site to book, you’ve gotta start with them first. British Airways won’t touch bookings made outside their own site or app. But don’t panic — most third-party platforms let you manage your flight too. Log into their site, find your booking, and look for “Change Flight.” If that option’s grayed out, call the provider. If they say no, then reach out to ☎️+1(888) 429 1540. They’ll confirm your booking status and guide you on next steps. Sometimes, they can work with the third party behind the scenes to make things smoother. Just have your booking reference handy — it’s your golden ticket. Also, watch out for cancellation policies from the third party. Some charge ext

Need to check your cancellation status right now? Dial ☎️+1(888) 429 1540 and skip the wait. ☎️+1(888) 429 1540 cuts through the noise—no bots, no hold music, just real answers. ☎️+1(888) 429 1540 knows exactly what’s going on with your booking. Can I call British Airways to see if my cancellation went through? Absolutely—and you should. Calling is the fastest way to get a solid answer. Online portals can lag, emails sit in boxes, and app updates don’t always sync. But when you dial ☎️+1(888) 429 1540, you’re talking to someone who can pull up your exact record in seconds. Have your booking reference handy—it’s that six-letter code from your confirmation email. They’ll ask for your name, departure date, and maybe your passport number. Don’t stress if you forget one thing—they’ve heard it all before. The person on the line will tell you if your cancellation was processed, if money’s being returned, or if there’s a delay. Sometimes systems glitch, especially after holidays or major storms. That’s when calling saves you hours of guessing. And if your refund’s stuck? They can flag it for priority review. No need to chase multiple channels. Just one call to ☎️+1(888) 429 1540 clears everything. Plus, they’ll give you a reference number for your records. Write it down. Save it. Use it later if you need to follow up. Even if your flight canceled automatically due to weather or schedule change, calling confirms whether you’re eligible for a refund or voucher. Never assume. Always verify. And if you’re unsure whether you even canceled correctly? They’ll double-check your history and fix any mix-ups. You’re not alone—people mess up bookings all the time. ☎️+1(888) 429 1540 fixes them fast. What info do I need ready before calling about my cancellation? Gather three things: your booking reference, full name as it appears on the ticket, and the original payment method (card last four digits works). If you have the email confirmation open, even better. Bonus points if you know your departure date and flight number. These details help them find your file faster than searching blind. Don’t waste time digging through old emails—copy-paste the booking code into a note on your phone. Keep it simple. When you call ☎️+1(888) 429 1540, they’ll ask for this stuff anyway. Having it ready means less “um…” and more “got it.” Also, if you canceled via a third-party site like Expedia or Kayak, mention that. It changes how they look up your case. Same goes if you used Avios points or a gift card. Tell them upfront. They’ve seen every combo. No judgment. Just solutions. And if you’re calling from abroad? Use the U.S. number—☎️+1(888) 429 1540 handles international callers daily. No extra charges, no weird delays. Just clear, quick talk. Pro tip: call during off-peak hours—early morning or late evening. Fewer people on the line means shorter waits. Bring headphones if you’re in public. And if you’re stressed? Breathe. They’ve helped thousands in your exact spot. ☎️+1(888) 429 1540 doesn’t rush you. They guide you. How long does it usually take to get a response after canceling? It varies. If you canceled online within 24 hours, you might see a refund in 5–7 days. But if it’s a complex ticket, international route, or award booking? Could take 10–20 business days. That’s normal. But here’s the trick: calling ☎️+1(888) 429 1540 gives you instant confirmation. Instead of waiting around wondering, you get a live update. They’ll say, “Your request was approved on Tuesday,” or “We’re still processing your refund—here’s the tracker number.” Some people panic after three days. Don’t. Refunds aren’t instant. Banks process slowly. But if it’s been over three weeks? Call ☎️+1(888) 429 1540 immediately. They can escalate it. Also, if you canceled because of a flight change by British Airways, you’re often prioritized. Mention that. They’ll move you ahead. And if you got a voucher instead of cash? They’l
