In the days following the election, I kept seeing links to websites like www(dot)sorryeverybody(dot)com, which offered a photo of a bearded idiot holding up a piece of paper that apologized to the rest of the planet for the election of George W. Bush. I realize the person who designed this website was probably doing so to be clever, and I suspect his motivations were either (a) mostly good or (b) mostly self-serving. But all I could think when I saw it was, This is so pathetic. It's like this guy on this website is actually afraid some anonymous stranger in Tokyo might not unconditionally love him (and for reasons that have nothing to do with either of them)...now I am not saying that I'm somehow happy when people in other countries blindly dislike America. It's just that I'm not happy if they love us, either. I don't think it matters. The kind of European who hates the United States in totality is exactly like the kind of American who hates Europe in totality; both people are unsophisticated, and their opinions aren't valid. But our society will never get over this fear; there will always be people in this country who are devastated by the premise of foreigners hating Americans in a macro sense. And I'm starting to think that's because too many Americans are dangerously obsessed with being liked.

What is a THCA flower, and why is it legal? This is a great question! Recently THCa has become wildly popular but not many people truly understand what it is and how it’s different from regular cannabis. The truth is it’s the same thing and produces the same experience as flower you would find in a dispensary in California, it’s just legal to ship across the US due to a loophole in the 2018 Farm Bill assed by congress. Since it’s passing in 2018, brand like Breezy are able to ship smokable THCa flower to anyone in the US over the age of 21, because it contains less than .3% Delta 9 THC on a dry weight basis. A misconception that many have about “THCa flower” is that it’s sprayed or has chemicals added to it that mimic the effects of “real” cannabis. Delta 8 and THCp come to mind, but that’s simply not true. THCa flower is grown the same way as traditional cannabis and even the most seasoned cannabis veteran would not be able to tell the two apart after use. Basically there are two major cannabinoids in question here, that occur naturally in the cannabis plant, THCa and Delta 9 THC. The THCa cannabinoid converts directly into Delta 9 when lit, albeit at a .877 multiplier. So, when lighting flower that contains .29% Delta 9 THC, and 30% THCa, your converted Delta 9 THC percentage will calculate to 30 x .877 + .29 = 26.6% Delta 9 THC after it’s lit. Once the flower is lit (in a joint, bowl, decreed, etc) users will feel the beloved “stone” that’s associated with dispensary sold cannabis. The key is that the COA (Certificate of Analysis/Lab Report) in the example above qualifies that flower as “legal hemp” thus allowable to ship across the US and be sold in local smoke shops. There are som misinformed people out there that say things like “it’s not the same thing” or “it can’t get you stoned”, but they’re dead wrong. This has caused a massive surge in popularity in non recreational states like Texas, North Carolina, Florida and others, because people can buy flower that don’t have access to real dispensaries in legal states. However, because it’s essentially the same thing as recreational cannabis, certain states have banned it, including Hawaii, Arkansas, Idaho, Kansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Oregon, Minnesota, Rhode Island, Utah and Vermont. You can also expect more states to follow suit in the near future, but for now people in non recreational cannabis states can simply walk into a smoke shop or order from their favorite online vendor and get it shipped right to their door.
