There only exist two mammals that can even move mostly on two feet. The other is the kangaroo. And honestly, they barely count because they often use their tails, like the third leg in a tripod, to balance. Our species alone is a walking, talking towers of bones. We balance on the sticks of our legs, our feet being the only two points of contact with the ground. If a dogs have a weak leg, they limp. If any part of us is out of balance or atrophied, itβs amazing how difficult it becomes to stay upright. Anyone whoβs pulled a hamstring learns pretty quickly that we need every last joint function just to stand up. With a pulled hamstring, simply stepping a few inches to the side to steady yourself β something we do dozens of times a day without thinking β can send you to the ground with ten out of ten pain.
