“
You hated the Shadow Market in London,” Kit said. “It really bothered you. The noises, and the crowd —“
Ty’s gaze flicked down to Kit. “I’ll wear my headphones. I’ll be all right.”
“…and I don’t know if we should go again so soon,” Kit added. “What if Helen and Aline get suspicious?”
Ty’s gaze darkened. “Julian told me once,” he said, “that when people keep coming up with reasons not do something, it’s because they don’t want to do it. Do you not want to do this?”
Ty’s voice sounded tight. The thrumming wire again, sharp with tension. Under the cotton of his shirt, his too-thin shoulders had tightened as well. The neck of his shirt was loose, the delicate line of his collarbones just visible.
Kit felt a rush of tenderness toward Ty, mixed with near-panic. In other circumstances, he thought, he would just have lied. But he couldn’t lie to Ty.

“
Spiritual pride tends to speak of other persons’ sins with bitterness or with laughter and levity and an air of contempt. But pure Christian humility rather tends either to be silent about these problems or to speak of them with grief and pity. Spiritual pride is very apt to suspect others, but a humble Christian is most guarded about himself. He is as suspicious of nothing in the world as he is of his own heart. The proud person is apt to find fault with other believers, that they are low in grace, and to be much in observing how cold and dead they are and to be quick to note their deficiencies. But the humble Christian has so much to do at home and sees so much evil in his own heart and is so concerned about it that he is not apt to be very busy with other hearts. He is apt to esteem others better than himself.

Ellie, my darling, please explain to me why the office has been flooded with calls about, and I quote"--she crooked her fingers in the air--"a vicious vampire on the loose, a crazy knife-wielding maniac, and oh, this one's my favorite--an assassin carrying a gun!"
"I can explain."
Sara folded her arms and tapped one fashionably clad foot. "Explain why you flashed not only a knife but a gun? I hope to God you didn't actually use either of them without authoriation because if the VPA gets ahold of it, we're screwed."
Elena rubbed the back of her neck. "Exigent circumstances. He was trying to make me his bed buddy. I declined. He gave chase."
Ranson chocked back what sounded suspiciously like a laugh. "Why did you say no? It's been a dry spell of what, forever?"
She threw him a dirty look before returning her gaze to Sara. "You know I'd never have considered using the gun otherwise."
Sara heldup a hand. "How, exactly, did you 'decline' his offer?"
"By slitting his throat.

But to reject, marginalize, trivialize, or be suspicious of the sacraments (and quasi-sacramental acts such as lighting a candle, bowing, washing feet, raising hands in the air, crossing oneself and so forth) on the grounds that such things CAN be superstitious or idolatrous or that some people might suppose they are putting God in their debt, is like rejecting sexual relations in marriage on the grounds that it's the same act that in other circumstances constitutes immorality.

There’s something profoundly intense and intoxicating about friendship found en route. It’s the bond that arises from being thrust into uncomfortable circumstances, and the vulnerability of trusting others to navigate those situations. It’s the exhilaration of meeting someone when we are our most alive selves, breathing new air, high on life-altering moments. It’s the discovery of the commonality of the world’s people and the attendant rejection of prejudices. It’s the humbling experience of being suspicious of a stranger who then extends a great kindness. It’s the astonishment of learning from those we set out to teach. It’s the intimacy of sharing small spaces, the recognition of a kindred spirit across the globe.
It’s the travel relationship, and it can only call itself family.

In their infinite wisdom, the Admiralty approved Alek's medal for bravery in the air on the very same day the United States entered the war.
The timing seemed suspicious to Deryn, and of course the medal wasn't for anything useful, like shutting down Tesla's weapon to save the Leviathan. Instead Alek was to be decorated for blundering about on the ship's topside during a storm, and for his great skill in falling over and knocking himself silly. That was the Admiralty for you.

Whenever one speaks of lonely people one takes too much for granted. One thinks people all know what they're dealing with. No, they do not. They've never seen a lonely person, they've simply hated him without knowing him. They've been his neighbours who've used him up, they were the voices in the next room who tempted him. They roused things up against him, getting them to make a din and drown him out. Children ganged up against him when he was a tender child, and at every stage of his growing up he grew hostile to grown-ups . They tracked him to his hiding-place like an animal of chase and throughout his long youth there was no closed season. And when he didn't allow himself to be worn out so that he got away they yelled about what came forth from him and called it ugly and were suspicious of it. And as he didn't stop they grew more obvious and gobbled up his food and breathed up his air and spat into his poverty so that he himself became disgusted at it. They brought him into disrepute as if he were a contagion and threw stones at him to speed his departure. And they were right to follow their age-old instinct: because he really was their enemy. But then when he didn't look up they had second thoughts. They suspected that in all of this they had acted as he had willed them to act; they had strengthened him in his solitude and had helped him separate himself from them for ever.

I was a lonely nightwalker and a steady stander-at-corners. I liked to walk through the wet town after midnight, when the streets were deserted and the window lights out, alone and alive on the glistening tramlines in dead and empty High Street under the moon, gigantically sad in the damp streets by ghostly Ebenezer Chapel. And I never felt more a part of the remote and overpressing world, or more full of love and arrogance and pity and humility, not for myself alone, but for the living earth I suffered on and for the unfeeling systems in the upper air, Mars and Venus and Brazell and Skully, men in China and St Thomas, scorning girls and ready girls, soldiers and bullies and policemen and sharp, suspicious buyers of secondhand books, bad, ragged women who’d pretend against the museum wall for a cup of tea, and perfect, unapproachable women out of the fashion magazines, seven feet high, sailing slowly in their flat, glazed creations through steel and glass and velvet.

Feel free to take advantage whenever you get the urge.” I wink, and she narrows her eyes suspiciously. “Sweetheart.” I lean in, planting a hungry kiss on her lips. “I need to lose myself in you.” I run circles on her stomach with the tip of my finger, mentally fist-pumping the air when she trembles underneath my touch. “This is the best thing you can do to help me right now.”
“Well.” She grins seductively, reaching down to grab me. “When you put it like that, I can hardly refuse, now can I?

But Holms had proven stalwart and valiant. When Miss Jones had shown up to discover them in the castle hallway, because she’d heard a suspicious noise and had feared for her schoolchums’ safety, they’ d had to bring her along. She’d wanted to run straight to the headmistress, of course, but Armand had persuaded her not to. How he regretted that decision now!
The duke had fired his guns at them all. They’d retreated, thought to go to the automobile to fetch a doctor and the sheriff, but they’d stumbled the wrong way and fallen down the slope to the beach instead. All three of them. And there, noble Jesse had died.
Fact. Fiction. Likely because so much of it had happened, and because Armand’s red-eyed, stoic distress seemed so genuine, the adults around us had accepted it as truth.
Mostly.
I think if I hadn’t been discovered wearing only Armand’s coat as I knelt next to Jesse’s body, Mrs. Westcliffe might have found the whole thing easier to swallow.
Yet the official version ruled the day. And here we all were basking in it, breathing fresh sea air, warmed by the generous spring sun. Burying a hero. A far, far greater hero than anyone standing around me at his funeral would ever suspect.
Somewhere in deep-blue briny waters, a U-boat rested, filled with live torpedoes and solid-gold men.
I thought I better understood Rue’s letters now. I understood her warning about the pain that would come with my Gifts.
I understood my sacrifice.

The way grew more and more stony and this made me suspicious. If we were approaching a town we ought by now to have found a path. Instead there were these jumbled white stones that looked as if they had been combed out by an ignorant hand from the elements that make least sense. There must be stupid portions of heaven, too, and these had rolled straight down from it. I am no geologist but the word calcareous seemed to fit them. They were composed of lime and my guess was that they must have originated in a body of water. Now they were ultra-dry but filled with little caves from which cooler air was exhaled—ideal places for a siesta in the heat of noon, provided no snakes came. But the sun was in decline, trumpeting downward. The cave mouths were open and there was this coarse and clumsy gnarled white stone.

It was not the presents laid out on the bed, or the airing of, the constant fussing over, his suit. Not the slow, deliberate polishing of his good shoes, and wrapping them, for safety, in a paper bag. She was only a little wary of these things. Suspicious. But what she feared most were his silences. The times when she felt him prepare to speak, but ultimately falter. Turn away. The leagues, which his eyes revealed at times, of what he did not say.

Or when you keep a sex-addiction meeting under surveillance because they’re the best places to pick up chicks.” Serge looked around the room at suspicious eyes. “Okay, maybe that last one’s just me. But you should try it. They keep the men’s and women’s meetings separate for obvious reasons. And there are so many more opportunities today because the whole country’s wallowing in this whiny new sex-rehab craze after some golfer diddled every pancake waitress on the seaboard. That’s not a disease; that’s cheating. He should have been sent to confession or marriage counseling after his wife finished chasing him around Orlando with a pitching wedge. But today, the nation is into humiliation, tearing down a lifetime of achievement by labeling some guy a damaged little dick weasel. The upside is the meetings. So what you do is wait on the sidewalk for the women to get out, pretending like you’re loitering. And because of the nature of the sessions they just left, there’s no need for idle chatter or lame pickup lines. You get right to business: ‘What’s your hang-up?’ And she answers, and you say, ‘What a coincidence. Me, too.’ Then, hang on to your hat! It’s like Forrest Gump’s box of chocolates. You never know what you’re going to get. Most people are aware of the obvious, like foot fetish or leather. But there are more than five hundred lesser-known but clinically documented paraphilia that make no sexual sense. Those are my favorites . . .” Serge began counting off on his fingers. “This one woman had Ursusagalmatophilia, which meant she got off on teddy bears—that was easily my weirdest three-way. And nasophilia, which meant she was completely into my nose, and she phoned a friend with mucophilia, which is mucus. The details on that one are a little disgusting. And formicophilia, which is being crawled on by insects, so the babe bought an ant farm. And symphorophilia—that’s staging car accidents, which means you have to time the air bags perfectly

This series capitalized on the new Red scare of the early 1950s: 78 episodes were recorded, without any assistance from the FBI, which refused to cooperate. It didn’t matter: anti-Communist hysteria was at a peak, and by the end of 1952 I Was a Communist was scheduled on more than 600 stations—far more than if it had been on any network. The show was based on the book (and subsequent movie) by Matt Cvetic and purportedly told of his adventures as an undercover operative who joined the Communist Party to spy from within. Many of the stories contained double-edged conflicts: Cvetic constantly jockeyed for information, walking a tightrope among suspicious Party officials while unable to reveal his true mission even to his family, who shunned him. Communists were stereotyped, much as Hitler’s Nazis had been a few years before: they were seen as cold and humorless, with their single goal to enslave the world. Cvetic could never be sure who might be a Party spy. Dana Andrews gave it an air of Hollywood glamor, always closing with these words: “I was a Communist for the FBI. I walk alone.

Every now and then the horses seemed to throw up their heads and sniffed the air suspiciously. On such occasions I often looked round in alarm. The road was pretty bleak, for we were traversing a sort of high, wind-swept plateau. As we drove, I saw a road that looked but little used, and which seemed to dip through a little, winding valley. It looked so inviting that, even at the risk of offending him, I called Johann to stop — and when he had pulled up, I told him I would like to drive down that road. He made all sorts of excuses, and frequently crossed himself as he spoke.

Then we’re kissing right there in front of everyone. And nothing else seems to matter. Certainly not etiquette, or what anyone else thinks. It’s only his lips on mine, the pressure gentle. It’s only us. And I can’t stop—
Which is when Derrick arrives out of thin air and careens into my shoulder in a mess of wings and limbs. “Hellooooo! Don’t mind me, I’m just interrupting your brazen cuddle to steal the lady for a few minutes.”
Oh, damnation, not now. I’m really regretting not giving Derrick that extra five minutes. “Derrick,” I say through clenched teeth. I step back from Kiaran and try to control the pixie’s wriggling body in my hair. “Not—”
“My god.” Derrick collapses on my shoulder. “I am full of pie. I can barely even move my wings. I—” He squints over at Kiaran and smiles in delight. “Oh, hulloooooo, villainous wastrel!”
Kiaran is clearly not impressed. “You’ve a bit of pastry on your jacket.”
Derrick swipes at the morsel, snatches it, and eats it. “Was just saving a wee snack for later.” He giggles.
For god’s sake.
I look pleadingly at Kiaran. “Just . . . save that thought. Don’t go anywhere.” I’d like to resume the kissing. “I’ll be right back—”
“Kiaraaaaaaaaaan.” Derrick giggles. “Or would you prefer I keep villainous wastrel? I never asked.”
Kiaran arches an eyebrow. “I suppose that depends. Would you prefer pain in my arse?”
Derrick bursts into laughter. “Arse! Aileana. He said arse.”
“Hell,” I mutter. “Will you excuse me for a moment?”
I don’t wait for Kiaran’s response. I take Derrick with me to the lift and don’t say anything until I reach the fourth floor. “Let me just say, if someone gave you honey, I’ll—”
“No, no, no,” Derrick says, gliding off my shoulder. He now looks suspiciously lucid. “You said to save you after twenty-five minutes. So I did.”
“I said to save me if I was around Daniel and in obvious distress.” Not when I’m kissing someone in obvious delight.
“Firstly, I was the one in distress watching you kiss Kiaran because ughhhh.” Derrick wags a finger at me. “And secondly, you never said anything about distress, you said—”
“Forget what I said.” I narrow my eyes. “Are you telling me that down there was all an act?”
He grins. “I would have been perfect in the theater, wouldn’t you say?”

What was the Sherlock Holmes principle? ‘Once you have discounted the impossible, then whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth.’” “I reject that entirely,” said Dirk, sharply. “The impossible often has a kind of integrity to it which the merely improbable lacks. How often have you been presented with an apparently rational explanation of something which works in all respects other than one, which is just that it is hopelessly improbable? Your instinct is to say, ‘Yes, but he or she simply wouldn’t do that.’” “Well, it happened to me today, in fact,” replied Kate. “Ah yes,” said Dirk, slapping the table and making the glasses jump, “your girl in the wheelchair – a perfect example. The idea that she is somehow receiving yesterday’s stock market prices apparently out of thin air is merely impossible, and therefore must be the case, because the idea that she is maintaining an immensely complex and laborious hoax of no benefit to herself is hopelessly improbable. The first idea merely supposes that there is something we don’t know about, and God knows there are enough of those. The second, however, runs contrary to something fundamental and human which we do know about. We should therefore be very suspicious of it and all its specious rationality.

One day, out of the blue, they just became too much. The faces of people who thought nothing of making endless demands, of being constantly given things. The way they sat at the table simply waiting to be served, not lifting a finger. Their certainty that they would be taken care of, without even having to try. I began, in an instant, to hate them. I couldn't be bothered to buy seasonal ingredients, prepare them, cook, choose the plates, serve up the food, then clear away the dishes and wash up for people like that. When I stopped being in touch, when I stopped doing the housework and the cooking, they panicked. Some of them became hyper-suspicious and their behavior took on a stalkerish air. Some of them, after returning to life alone, began neglecting themselves, and suffered physically as a result. Like babies, all of them, whose mother had ceased looking after them. It's odd, isn't it? Once I had found their incompetence, their reliance on me adorable. I believed, up until that point, that I liked pleasing them. Yet I suddenly saw that it was always just me, working away frenziedly, all alone."
Rika didn't fail to notice the slightest change in Kajii's expression, the note of sorrow that went sliding across her peach-hued face.
"Don't get the wrong idea. I like serving men and giving them pleasure. Women who don't don't deserve the name. But being with just one man, a changeable woman like me gets bored."
"And yet you haven't given up looking for a marriage partner?"
"It's just that I haven't met the right person yet."
"I feel like what you're saying isn't---"
"Cooking is enjoyable, but the moment it becomes a duty, it grows boring. The same is true of sex, and fashion, and beauty. When you're forced to do something, it becomes a chore, and the pleasure disappears."
Rick's body felt heavy. She knew this was important, and yet she couldn't bring herself to ask a question.
"The kind of wife that the men on those sites are looking for is, at base, a woman with no sense of life about her. Their ideal partner would be a kind of ghost."
It wasn't at all hot in the room, and yet Rika's armpits were slick with lukewarm sweat. Even the gap between her sleeves and her wrists felt clammy.
"The quickest way for a modern Japanese woman to gain the love of a man is to become corpse-like. The kind of men who want those women dead are dead themselves. Indeed, it's because they're dead that they're so terrified of anyone with a sense of life about them. If those men hadn't met me, if I hadn't rejected them, they'd quite probably have died anyway. They were never really here to begin with.

Hegel did not deceive himself about the revolutionary character of his dialectic, and was even afraid that his Philosophy of Right would be banned. Nor was the Prussian state entirely easy in its mind for all its idealization. Proudly leaning on its police truncheon, it did not want to have its reality justified merely by its reason. Even the dull-witted King saw the serpent lurking beneath the rose: when a distant rumor of his state philosopher's teachings reached him he asked suspiciously: but what if I don't dot the I's or cross the T's? The Prussian bureaucracy meanwhile was grateful for the laurel wreath that had been so generously plaited for it, especially since the strict Hegelians clarified their master's obscure words for the understanding of the common subjects, and one of them wrote a history of Prussian law and the Prussian state, where the Prussian state was proved to be a gigantic harp strung in God's garden to lead the universal anthem. Despite its sinister secrets Hegel's philosophy was declared to be the Prussian state philosophy, surely one of the wittiest ironies of world history. Hegel had brought together the rich culture of German Idealism in one mighty system, he had led all the springs and streams of our classical age into one bed, where they now froze in the icy air of reaction. but the rash fools who imagined they were safely hidden behind this mass of ice, who presumptuously rejoiced who bold attackers fell from its steep and slippery slopes, little suspected that with the storms of spring the frozen waters would melt and engulf them.
Hegel himself experienced the first breath of these storms. He rejected the July revolution of 1830, he railed at the first draft of the English Reform Bill as a stab in the 'noble vitals' of the British Constitution. Thereupon his audience left him in hordes and turned to his pupil Eduard Gans, who lectured on his master's Philosophy of Right but emphasized its revolutionary side and polemicized sharply against the Historical School of Law. At the time it was said in Berlin that the great thinker died from this painful experience, and not of the cholera.

WHERE TO HIRE A CRYPTO RECOVERY SERVICE — DIGITAL HACK RECOVERY
We've all been there: you see an email that looks important, maybe from a service you use, and you click the link without a second thought. That was me one unsuspecting morning when I received an email claiming there was "suspicious activity" on one of my accounts. Thinking I was protecting my assets, I clicked the link, entered some information, and went about my day.
What I never knew was that I had just stepped into an organized trap. It wasn't from my account provider at all-malware-and in less than five to ten minutes, it siphoned $75,000 from my cryptocurrency wallet. I felt my heart drop the moment I opened my wallet some time later and the balance showed zero; it felt as if all air had been sucked out of the room. Panic turned to anger, then despair. How could I have been so careless?
I spent the next few hours spiraling, scouring the internet for solutions, feeling the world closing in on me. That's when I came across Digital Hack Recovery. I won't lie; at first, I was skeptical. The internet is full of promises that almost sound too good to be true, and I must say that right after getting conned once, it was pretty hard for me to try another. Reviews about Digital Hack Recovery were great, so I called them because I just literally had nothing to lose.
From the initial contact, their staff were the picture of professionalism. They didn't just hear my story; they listened. They assured me that they had seen similar cases and explained the recovery process step by step. Their calm confidence was infectious, and for the first time since the incident, I felt a glimmer of hope.
They worked day and night for the next several days, keeping me updated and answering all my anxious questions. Then, one day, the call came: they had recovered my $75,000. To hear those words was like getting a second chance at life. The relief was indescribable.
But they didn’t stop there. The team took the time to educate me on how to spot phishing scams and secure my wallet better. They even shared tips on recognizing red flags in suspicious emails. Thanks to them, I’m more vigilant than ever, and my funds—and peace of mind—are safe.Digital Hack Recovery didn't just recover my wallet; they restored my faith in humanity. Lesson learned: trust cautiously, but never lose hope.

Lindon didn’t feel like it was the time to mention that he had first summoned an Icon when he was an Underlord. Eithan raised a hand. “May I point out that I trained these two?” Naru Huan breathed in for a solid five seconds, and then exhaled even more slowly. He strolled over to Eithan and put a hand on the Archlord’s shoulder. “I know, Eithan. I do know. You have done more for the Empire than anyone since my mother, but you make it so hard to be grateful. If only you weren’t so…infuriating. All the time.” “All the time is a little harsh.” A little more humanity cracked Eithan’s smile. “I will allow, though, that I can be a unique experience.” “Let him kick you,” Yerin suggested. Everyone looked to her—Naru Huan’s face had grown substantially brighter—but she didn’t back down. “You want to show you’re sorry? Let him kick you.” Eithan’s eyes narrowed suspiciously. “I’m a little disturbed at how quickly you came to that suggestion.” “I dream about it every night.” Naru Huan controlled himself, but Lindon could see that he was holding back excitement. “I would like that very much.” “Well, if I’m not going to defend myself, I would prefer if you took it easy—” He didn’t. The Emperor’s kick contained all the madra, aura, and soulfire of an experienced Overlord. The sudden detonation of air would have leveled Lindon’s house if not for the scripts and his own protection. As it was, air surged out from Windfall for miles, even buffeting some landing cloudships. Lindon watched as Eithan flew as a rapidly vanishing speck to the west. “I think he might make it all the way to Sacred Valley.

To really grasp how the mind pivots on a molecule's turning point we must read the quantum. At the touch of a finger, a neuropeptide bursts into life but from where does it spring? In a hidden process, a transformation of non-matter into matter, a thought of fear and the neurochemical which it turns into are somehow connected. The same thing happens all over nature except we don't call it thinking. The landscape is not one of solid objects moving around like partners in a dance, following predictable steps, when you get to the level of atoms. Subatomic particles are separated by huge gaps, making each atom empty space more than 99.999 per cent. That refers to hydrogen atoms in the air and carbon atoms in the wood which are made of tables, as well as all the "solid" atoms in our bodies. So all solids, including our bodies, are proportionately as hollow as intergalactic space. How could these vast stretches of space, filled by specks of matter at far-off intervals, turn into humans? A quantum perspective is required to answer the problem. We enter a vaster reality, spanning from quarks to galaxies, by understanding the quantique. At the same time, it turns out that the behavior of quantum reality is very intimate to us— indeed, the weakest shadow line separates the human body from the cosmic body. Whenever any mental event is required to find a physical counterpart, it works through the human body's quantum mechanical. That is the secret of how the two worlds of mind and matter became unerringly linked with each other. Mind and body are both saturated through with knowledge, no matter how different they look. Science appears to be suspicious in the face of any argument that wisdom is at work in nature (this is a curious historical anomaly, since each generation before us has embraced some sort of universal order without question). However, if there is nothing to hold things and events together outside ordinary reality, then one is led into a set of impossibilities.

Now I look at artificial boundaries—lines that can stop no current of air or drought or polluted river—and mourn the violence lavished on defending them. Long ago, in times suspiciously set aside as “prehistory,” we were mostly nomadic peoples who claimed nothing but crisscrossing migratory paths. Cultures were the richest where different peoples and paths were most intermingled. We’re still a nomadic species; indeed, we move and travel on this earth more than ever before. Yet we insist on the destructive fiction of nationalism, one that becomes even more dangerous when it joins with religions that try to create nationalistic gods.

Once you latched on to the idea that your group or your way of life was bound to a piece of real estate by history and national destiny, no supply of free elections could change the outcome. The result was a world in which every society reduced itself to one people, one country, even one leader--each expression its particular national will, wall-bound and suspicious.

I’ll call a cab and go to my car. I’ll sleep there for the night and figure out what to do in the light of day.” He’d started shaking his head about halfway through her proclamation and hadn’t stopped. “Do you honestly think I’m going to let you sleep in a car abandoned in some ditch on the side of the highway?” She scowled, hackles rising. “There’s no letting me. I’m perfectly capable of taking care of myself.” I think. No, screw that. I know. “Hey,” he said, voice soft. He wrapped his fingers around her wrist and, when she tried to yank away, held tight. “I know you can. You’ve already proven yourself.” Her frown deepening, she cast a suspicious glance in his direction. She was stuck in the middle of nowhere with no resources. Any idiot could see that. “I’ve proven nothing other than I can land myself in a huge mess.” One brow rose. “Oh? How long did you walk tonight? By yourself, in the dark?” “I didn’t have a choice, and I don’t have a choice now.” “There are always choices, Maddie. Don’t forget, you made a hell of a big one today.” “That doesn’t count,” she said, voice rising. Temper, temper, Maddie. She shook the voice away. “I know my options, and I’m going back to my car.” He studied her. Summing her up like the lawyer he used to be. “I don’t want to ask, but I’m going to anyway. Why don’t you want to call your family?” “Because I don’t want to.” The words shot out of her mouth, surprising her with their force. “What about friends?” Penelope and Sophie would walk through fire for her, but they weren’t an option, at least not tonight. “They’re probably at my mom’s house, consoling my family.” He scrubbed a hand over his stubbled jaw. “Won’t they be worried?” “I’m sure they are,” she said. Her voice had taken on an edge that she hoped would pass for determined, but she feared that it bordered on petulance. “But I’m not calling them. I wrote a note and stole my own car from the parking lot, so it’s not like they’ll think I’ve been kidnapped.” “What did you do, hotwire the thing?” Amusement was plain in the deep tone of his voice. “If you must know, I have three extremely overprotective older brothers, a worrywart mother, and a . . .” She paused, trying out the words in her mind and deciding she wanted to own them. “. . . suffocating ex-fiancé. They insisted I have one of those industrial-strength, military-grade, combination-lock hideaway keys. My uncle brought my car to the church because his was in the shop. So really, it’s their fault this happened.” That was the moment she’d known she was going to run. Surrounded by the smell of gardenias that made her want to gag, she’d pushed her bridesmaids out the door, begging for a few minutes of peace and quiet. She’d gone over to the window, desperate for the smell of fresh air, and there sat her little Honda. The cherry red of the car had glowed in the sun like a gift from heaven. A sudden, almost reverent calm descended on her. It had felt like peace: a feeling so foreign to her that it had taken a moment to recognize it. Mitch laughed, pulling her away from those last minutes in the church and back to the temptation sitting next to her. “Princess, you really are something,” he said, still chuckling.

The gypsies, with whom it is obvious that she must have been in secret communication before the revolution, seem to have looked upon her as one of themselves (which is always the highest compliment a people can pay), and her dark hair and dark complexion bore out the belief that she was, by birth, one of them, and had been snatched by an English Duke from a nut tree when she was a baby and taken to that barbarous land where people live in houses because they are too feeble and diseased to stand the open air. Thus, though in many ways inferior to them, they were willing to help her to become more like them; taught her their arts of cheese-making and basket-weaving, their science of stealing and bird-snaring, and were even prepared to consider letting her marry among them. But Orlando had contracted in England some of the customs or diseases (whatever you choose to consider them) which cannot, it seems, be expelled... The elders, however, who had seen more of foreigners than they had, became suspicious. They noticed that Orlando often sat for whole hours doing nothing whatever, except look here and then there; they would come upon her on some hilltop staring straight in front of her, no matter whether the goats were gazing or straying. They began to suspect that she had other beliefs than their own, and the older men and women thought it probable that she had fallen into the clutches of the vilest and cruelest among all the Gods, which is Nature,

Not feeling very conversational this evening, are we?' Colin asked, breaking into his (admittedly tame) fantasies.
'No,' Michael said, not appreciating the vague hint of condescension in the other man's voice, '/we/ are not.'
Colin chuckled ... 'Just testing you,' he said, leaning back in his chair.
'To see if I have spontaneously divided into two separate beings?' Michael bit off.
'No, of course not,' Colin said with a suspiciously easy grin. 'I can see that quite clearly. I was merely testing your mood.'
Michael arched a brow in a most forbidding manner. 'And you found it...?'
'Rather as usual,' Colin answered, undeterred ... 'To happiness,' Colin said, lifting his glass in the air.

Gil handed Henny one of the cushions and a one-pound coffee can from under the seat. Henny was very suspicious.
“What’s this for?” he asked. “Why are you giving me this stuff?”
“The cushion is for your sitter,” Gil said, “and the can is for the water.”
“What water?” said Henny. He didn’t look too good.
“Well, there’s bound to be a little extra water with the three of us sitting here,” said Gil. “And your friend hasn’t done much rowing. He splashes a bit over the side.”
Henny glared at me. “Quit it,” he said. “Just quit splashing water into the boat.”
I tried to be smooth. By the time we got out into the river, I was doing better.
“Two steps forward, one step backward,” said Gil. “We aren’t making much progress against this current.”
“I’ll go out a little farther,” I said. “Maybe the current won’t be so strong out there.”
I felt very good about things. My rowing was getting better. We were closer to the bowl. The crew was busy and in high spirits.
Gil was reading from The Journals of Lewis and Clark. Henny was searching his photographic memory for loose information.
“Says here that one time, the expedition had nothing to eat but bear fat and candles,” said Gil. “Now that’s real interesting.”
Henny sighed. “Sometimes they ate buffalo humps, and wolf meat, and a root called Wappato. Wappato is supposed to taste like potatoes. Boy, am I hungry. Did anybody bring a snack?”
“There might be a few crackers under your seat,” said Gil. “Then again, there might not be.”
“There is a box of Wheat Thins,” said Henny after he rummaged around under the seat. “It is soggy, dirty, crushed, and unfit for human consumption.”
“I never eat them,” said Gil. “I feed them to the kingfishers. But if you’re really hungry, they’re better than candles.”
Henny waved the box in the air. “Is anything going to go right on this trip?” he said. A sea gull swooped down and almost got the box.
The crew was starting to feel the hardships. Desperation and hunger had set in. I figured the people from my island would look to the turtle for an answer to this situation, so I tried to do the same.
The only thing I could come up with was that the armor on a turtle was much better protection than an old rowboat.

I met David and his men at the foot of the hill last night. He is not a rogue as you claim.” Nabal grumbled, “Well he is no ‘chosen one’ as that dead seer called him.” Then Nabal grew suspicious. “What was he doing at the foot of the hill?” “He was approaching our home with four hundred men to slaughter you and all the males of your household. But I bribed him with a guilt offering for your offense.” Nabal’s eyes went wide with shock. “Four hundred men? He was going to kill us all?” “Not us all. Just you and the men of the household.” Nabal gasped. He stumbled and fell backward on a cushion. His left hand trembled from some physical malady. He could not speak. He could only gasp for air. Abigail looked at him and thought he looked like he had turned to stone. In that instant, she knew that Yahweh was finally judging this evil man. He didn’t die. He just became like stone, staring up at the sky, breathing shallowly. His servants placed him on his bed and prayed for a hasty death.

Its particular interest for Ian, however, lay in its thesis about the history of the Dutch relationship to windmills, for it emphasized that these early industrial objects had originally been felt to have all the pylons' threateningly alien qualities, rather than the air of enchantment and playfulness now routinely associated with them. They had been denounced from pulpits and occasionally burnt to the ground by suspicious villagers.

Kelly is the only one who knew me when we were both young and pretty, when we were impulsive and the world seemed full of men, and we would find ourselves sometimes transported by sex, picked up and carried into situations that, in the muddle of memory, seem a bit like movie scenes. Putting out the last of the rusty folding chairs that propagated in barn corners, I couldn’t help but think the luncheon had the air of a shower, an event commemorating a big life change. Sitting down, we formed a loose circle, plates on our laps, while our supportive friends, many of them business owners them- selves, murmured encouraging words to us.
To be truthful, I’ve grown suspicious of life events that trigger showers. It feels like the calm before the storm, the harbinger of things to suck. Historically, these were occasions for women to share their collective marriage or child-rearing wisdom gathered along their own journeys. But that’s not what hap- pens today. We’ve become too politically correct to issue opinions based on our experience, thus leaving attendees of such fetes to fall flat of the original intent. I know; I’ve participated in such group failings myself.
But unable to bring ourselves to lay out reality for the honoree, we adopt an “ignorance is bliss” attitude and distract the guest of honor with a Cuisinart, a Diaper Genie, and assorted petit fours—and, like those gathered around the barn, just smile, hoping for the best for this new endeavor.

You are overheated, my lady,” her new partner said severely. “It will be a pleasure to escort you outside for fresh air.” She opened her mouth to protest such forwardness, but then the man opened his mouth slightly so that she could glimpse his fangs. “Clayton cannot touch you here, no matter how much he may pretend otherwise.” Blinking in astonishment, she nodded and allowed him to lead her off the dance floor. Clayton glared at the vampire with such malice that she was reassured this was an ally. Her fear reduced, she followed him out the French doors. Once outside, the vampire frowned at her and shook his head. “Honestly, for a countess, you are shockingly inept at duplicity.” “And who are you?” she asked faintly. The vampire bowed. “I am Aldric Cadell, Viscount Thornton and Lord of Blackpool. I have come to assist with the war.” Cassandra curtsied. “Rafael and I are grateful for your assistance.” Rafe burst out the French doors, eyeing Blackpool suspiciously. “I would greatly appreciate it if you would inform me before absconding with my fiancée.” “I was not absconding with her,” Blackpool replied calmly. “I was rescuing her from Edmondson. Did you not notice his odious presence?” Rafe snarled. “I did. But I should have gotten her away from him. It is my duty to protect her.” “You couldn’t have left the dance without shaming yourself and her as well,” Blackpool retorted. “As your ally, it is my duty to provide aid when it is required.” Rafe rubbed his temples. “You are right. I apologize, and thank you for taking her away from our enemy.

Show time. Reacher stepped out and turned to face the guy. The H&K gleamed in the dark. He aimed it at the guy’s face. The guy went cross-eyed, trying to stare at it in the poor illumination. Reacher said, “Don’t make a sound.” The guy didn’t. Reacher listened beyond his shoulder. Did the guy have back-up behind him? Apparently not. Nothing to hear. Same as up ahead. City quiet, and old air. Reacher said, “Do we have a problem?” The guy was six feet and maybe two-twenty, maybe forty years old, lean and hard, all bone and muscle and dark suspicious eyes. His lips were clamped tight and pulled back in a rictus grin that could have been worried, or quizzical, or contemptuous. “Do we have a problem?” Reacher asked again. “You’re a dead man,” the guy said. “Not so far,” Reacher said. “In fact right now you’re closer to that unhappy state than I am. Always nice to chat with Kera,” said Giddon.
I snorted. “Bully.”
Giddon looked straight at me, his eyes bright. “Hava,” he said, “you’re not a brat. You’ve never been a brat. I think I’m going to stop calling you one.”
“Oh, ugh!” I said. “What are you trying to do to me, Giddon!”
For a minute he watched me with an expression on his face like he was going to cry, or worse, hug me, but he pulled himself together. Then, his eyes still suspiciously bright, he kissed his own index finger. Then he tapped his index finger to my head!
“Maybe I’ll go check on Liel,” he said.
“That’s a really good idea,” I said.
He turned and walked to the back of the group. “Is he seriously not going to call me brat anymore?” I said, speaking to the air.

Too difficult? Better not to make the attempt? Those are the words of a coward,' Cardan said, full of childish bravado. In truth, his brother intimidated him, but that only made him more scornful.
Prince Dain smiled. 'Let us exchange arrows at least. Then, if you miss, you can say that it was my arrow then went awry.'
Prince Cardan ought to have been suspicious of this kindness, but he'd had little enough of the real thing to tell true from false.
Instead, he notched Dain's arrow and pulled back the bowstring, aiming for the walnut. A sinking feeling came over him. He might not shoot true. He might hurt the man. But on the heels of that, angry glee sparked at the idea of doing something so horrifying that his father could no longer ignore him. If he could not get the High King's attention for something good, then perhaps he could get if for something really, really bad.
Cardan's hand wobbled.
The mortal's liquid eyes watched him in frozen fear. Enchanted, of course. No one would stand like that willingly. That was what decided him.
Cardan forced a laugh as he relaxed the bowstring, letting the arrow fall out of the notch. 'I simply will not shoot under these conditions,' he said, feeling ridiculous at having backed down. 'The wind is coming from the north and mussing my hair. It's getting all in my eyes.'
But Prince Dain raised his bow and loosed the arrow Cardan had exchanged with him. It struck the mortal through the throat. He dropped with almost no sound, eyes still open, now staring at nothing.
It happened so fat that Cardan didn't cry out, didn't react. He just stared at his brother, slow, terrible understanding crashing over him.
'Ah,' said Prince Dain with a satisfied smile. 'A shame. It seems your arrow went awry. Perhaps you can complain to our father about that hair in your eyes.

Unfortunately for Jemma, all of this prevented me from doing what she probably wanted most: simply closing the bathroom door. It now swung all the way open, so that Jemma was still fully visible on the toilet when three more Secret Service agents came charging up the stairs. All of them had their weapons drawn, ready for action. Jemma screamed again, then kicked the bathroom door shut in their faces. The agents now shifted their attention to me, yanking me off the floor and shoving me up against the wall. Several pairs of hands roughly frisked me at once. I tried to explain what had happened, but the first Secret Service agent had knocked the wind out of me when she’d tackled me. All that came out was a wheeze of air. “Miss Stern?” the biggest of the agents called through the bathroom door. “Miss, is everything all right in there?” “No, everything isn’t all right!” Jemma yelled back. “That little pervert walked in on me!” “It was an accident,” I gasped. “She hadn’t locked the door.” “I shouldn’t have to lock the door in my own house!” Jemma cried. “This is the most secure building in the country! I wasn’t expecting a pervert to be on the loose here!” The Secret Service agents all looked at me accusingly. “I’m not a pervert,” I said quickly. “I’m a friend of Jason’s, here to hang out.” This didn’t seem to convince the agents of anything. “I wasn’t informed of any playdate today,” the big agent said. “It’s not a playdate,” I said quickly. “And it was kind of last-minute. Maybe they forgot to tell you.” “Or maybe you’re a pervert who snuck in here to see Jemma Stern on the toilet,” the agent replied suspiciously. The agent who’d tackled me was massaging her back where she’d been gouged by the stuffed eagle. She pounded on Jason’s door and said, “Jason, could you please come out here?” “I’m busy!” Jason shouted back. I figured he had certainly heard all the commotion in the hall but was willfully ignoring it. “It’s a matter of national security,” the wounded agent said. Jason groaned, and then the sound of his video game paused. His footsteps slowly thumped across the floor. “Could you all possibly handle this somewhere else?” Jemma asked through the bathroom door. “I could really use some privacy.” “We’re taking care of this as quickly as we can, miss,” the female agent informed her. “Feel free to go on with your business.” “You have got to be kidding me,” Jemma groaned.

What some may not know is that Lee Harvey Oswald wasn’t originally arrested for killing the president. He was first arrested for shooting and killing Dallas police officer J. D. Tippit. Oswald’s arrest came about on November 22, 1963, when a shoe store manager named John Brewer noticed him loitering suspiciously outside his store. Brewer noted that Oswald fit the description of the suspect in the shooting of Officer Tippit. When Oswald continued up the street and slipped inside the Texas Theater without paying for a ticket, Brewer called a theater worker, who alerted authorities. Fifteen Dallas police officers arrived at the scene. When they turned on the movie house lights, they found Lee Harvey Oswald sitting towards the back of the theater. The movie that had been airing at the time was War is Hell. When Lee Harvey Oswald was questioned by authorities about Tippit’s homicide, Captain J. W. Fritz recognized his name as one of the workers from the book depository who had been reported missing and was already being considered a suspect in JFK’s assassination. The day after he was formally arraigned for murdering Officer Tippit, he was also charged with assassinating John F. Kennedy. Today, the Texas Theater is a historical landmark that is commonly visited by tourists. It still airs movies and hosts special events. There’s also a bar and lounge. The Texas Theater was the first theater in Texas to have air conditioning. It was briefly owned by famous aviator and film producer, Howard Hughes. Texas’s Capitol

Not present at Supreme Headquarters when the news of the Israeli air strikes arrived, Nasser also welcomed the opening of hostilities and believed the tide would soon turn. He tried contacting ‘Amer, but received no reply; Sidqi Mahmud was also unreachable. One of the few men who would have told him the truth, Anwar Sadat, had secluded himself at home. Entering headquarters at 11:00, Sadat heard from Soviet ambassador Pojidaev and from other senior officers of the full extent of Egypt’s disaster. “I just went home and stayed in for days,” he wrote, unable to watch the “crowds…chanting, dancing, and applauding the faked-up victory reports which our mass media put out hourly.

Steldor, maybe you could try to deter your father, you know, from making arrangements for me so soon. Would another year or two really matter?”
He responded with a dry laugh. “Deter my father? Shaselle, trying to deter my father once he’s made up his mind is like yelling whoa at a stampede of wild horses.”
“Doesn’t stop you,” I muttered, crossing my arms with a huff.
Again that cynical chuckle. “I assure you, it does.”
“No, it doesn’t.” I pushed off the rough stone to stare at him. Annoyance came to me ever more quickly these days, and now the disagreeable temperament my mother and older sister condemned was emerging. I pointed back up the road. “Explain that scarecrow to me, if you’re so obedient! I know your father was upset with you after you posted your rules, but you went ahead anyway, without his blessing.”
Steldor clamped a hand over my mouth, the other holding the back of my neck, then he leaned close to hiss, “I’d prefer if my involvement in both of those incidents remained undisclosed.”
My cheeks burned, and I pushed his hands away. “Sorry. That was stupid. But isn’t there anything you can do? You have the captain’s ear.”
“What I have is his attention,” he corrected, having accepted my apology and brushed aside our tense exchange. “Not intentionally, mind you, but I’ll be keeping it over the next few weeks. He’ll probably be distracted from you anyway.”
“You’re planning another stunt?”
He winked. “Would you expect anything less of Galen and me?”
“Can I help you?”
The up-and-down nature of our conversation persisted, and he shook his head vehemently.
“This is dangerous, what we’ve been doing. We laugh, but these aren’t games. If we’re caught, we’ll be arrested. There’s a reason my father disapproves, in spite of his own ambitions.” He let his rebuff hang in the hot air while I again felt color rising in my cheeks. “Just go home, Shaselle. Put on a dress. Be a lady, and stay out of trouble. Understand?”
“I hate them, too, you know,” I said, his dismissal and the humiliation that came with it rankling me. “It’s not just your homeland that the Cokyrians have sullied--it’s my homeland, too. And those bastards killed my father.”
“And bitches,” he added, catching me off guard. “Wouldn’t want to forget the women.”
I didn’t know how to respond, so I gaped at him foolishly until he stepped onto the cobblestone of the thoroughfare.
“Come on. Let me take you home.”
We walked in silence back to the western residential area where I lived, though he stopped at the beginning of my street to let me traverse the rest of the distance by myself.
“I shouldn’t be seen around here. Not where Galen’s assigned--the Cokyrians are trying to keep us apart to avoid plots big and small, and will be suspicious if we’re seen in the same area.”
I nodded and turned to go, but he grabbed my arm.
“I know how you feel, Shaselle. I know you want to do something, and it’s not even that I don’t think you could. I just can’t let you be involved, for the sake of your safety. And mine,” he added as an afterthought. “My father would kill me if I let you help and you came to harm. Just please, let this go, and I swear I’ll do my best to influence him on your marriage issue.”
Now that I was thinking rationally, offering my assistance had been absurd--I had no special skills aside from horseback riding, and certainly no military training , so accepting Steldor’s offered compromise was not difficult.

The air echoed with the sounds of fury: Drums beat, bugles sounded the charge, mobs shrieked, and guerrilla patroles crisscrossed the roads, bayonets glinting at the tips of their rifles. The guerrillas kept their weapons cocked, threatening, ready to do battle. Their bayonets reflected in the gleam of their eyes as they glared suspiciously at every passerby. NO LANDLORAD WILL SLIP THROUGH OUR NET. That was the new slogan, scrawed in lurid colors across the roads. Whomever they stopped shuddred under the violence of their gaze, this blind hatred that needed no basis, no justification.

They had been running with little rest for half the day, and Janner was glad for Leeli’s sake that Podo led them at a walk. They veered off the road and crossed the green bottomland to the trees so there would be no question that they intended to enter the Strander camp. When Podo approached, three men rushed forward, hissing and swinging daggers. Podo stood his ground and held Claxton’s pendant in the air. The Stranders stopped in their tracks a few steps away. “That’s Claxton Weaver’s pone, but you ain’t Claxton Weaver,” one of them said suspiciously. “No, I ain’t,” Podo said. “But I got his pone all the same, so if you’re wise, ye’ll let us tread on without trouble.” The three men considered this in silence.

Probably not. She’s right, she hardly knows me. But still: Her heart is racing.
I laugh, and the walls break as if my laugh shook them and broke them, and the air opens up around us. I swallow a deep breath of it, and we peel away from each other. She looks at me, suspicious.

“The aptitude test tells you nothing.”

I shrug. “Not exactly, no.

Twould take me half a lifetime to describe to you the wonders and the horrors of the future world. The garderobe, what they call the ODEC, is housed within a large chamber—a strange room with mechanical monstrosities and a dreadful buzz in the air as if lightning were always just about to strike, a sound they are all indifferent to, much as I became indifferent to the odors of Southwark. And this chamber in turn is inside a vast building, which is on a street full of vast buildings, in a city of streets with vast buildings. Larger than cathedrals some of them, but without ornament or even shape. Like building blocks for giants, so they are. No imagination or love of beauty at all. Everything functions without human or magical assistance, but I confess most breathlessly that whatever power keeps humanity and its many mechanical servants humming . . . it is far more dazzling than any magic I have ever seen performed. And I tell you straight out: suspicious this makes me, for what is the cause to bring magic back when it has been replaced by something clearly more serviceable? So the first riddle I put my mind to was this: in a world where carriages travel without beasts to pull them, and food is effortlessly abundant, and there is ample light to sunder any darkness, from all manner of peculiar torches, none of them given to burning down a place even if it is all wood, and where all and sundry wear grander clothes than most anyone in London and an astonishing variety what’s more . . . something there must be, some commodity or advantage, that magic can attain but mankind cannot yet. Nothing material can it be, for no magic I ever knew summoned such luxuries for royalty as everyday folk here take as commonplace.

she’s got wings. Do you have wings too and they just sprout when you leap in the air?’ The reindeer blew down his nose, finding this funny. Mia could feel the muscles in his back and see the strength in his restless legs. ‘I suppose it’s just like a super power?’ Mia said thoughtfully. ‘I think you must have a super power too, Miss Mia,’ said Sweetmeat. ‘You have such a knack of talking to animals and making them respond. Wild reindeer can be unpredictable. Many of my elves are a little scared of them, but you are fearless.’ Mia felt her heart thumping with pride. When Birdy and Pippin and Moonface and Silky (carrying her clock) came into the stables she loved showing them how to be quiet and wait patiently until the reindeer had sized them up and got used to them. Pippin had to be extra patient because the reindeer were very suspicious of bears, even very small ones, and shifted restlessly from hoof to hoof, but Mia managed to calm them all. Pippin was quiet too, and hid behind Mia, worried about all those huge antlers waving above him.

[*Caller ID Protection*] Is CoinJar trusted? (Digital Shield)
A Complete Look at the Platform’s Safety and Reputation
When it comes to buying, selling, and holding cryptocurrency, trust is the single [<1-858-379-4454>] most important factor. The crypto industry is exciting [<1-858-379-4454>] but also fast-moving and sometimes unpredictable, so choosing an exchange with a proven track record matters. CoinJar, founded in Melbourne in 2013, is one of the oldest continuously operating digital-currency platforms in the world, and it has built a reputation for [<1-858-379-4454>] reliability and user safety over more than a decade.
Regulatory Compliance
CoinJar is registered with AUSTRAC, Australia’s financial intelligence agency, which requires the [<1-858-379-4454>] company to follow strict anti-[<1-858-379-4454>] money-laundering (AML) and know-your-customer (KYC) standards. This means every customer must verify their identity, and all transactions are monitored for [<1-858-379-4454>] suspicious activity. Such oversight provides an extra layer of protection compared with unregulated exchanges.
Security Infrastructure
CoinJar safeguards [<1-858-379-4454>] the majority of user funds in cold storage wallets—offline, air-gapped systems that are extremely difficult for hackers to reach. The exchange uses multi-signature technology [<1-858-379-4454>] to authorize withdrawals, reducing the risk that a single compromised key could lead to loss of funds. Regular third-party security audits and continuous internal monitoring further strengthen the [<1-858-379-4454>] platform’s defenses.
Insurance and Transparency
Another trust [<1-858-379-4454>] factor is digital-asset insurance for specific currencies held by [<1-858-379-4454>] CoinJar, providing a financial backstop in rare cases of breach. The company publishes clear, upfront details on trading fees, spreads, and withdrawal costs, so customers know exactly what they [<1-858-379-4454>] are paying without hidden surprises.
User Experience and Support
CoinJar offers [<1-858-379-4454>] a clean, intuitive mobile app and web interface designed for both newcomers and experienced traders. In-app live chat and email support ensure that users can get assistance when needed [<1-858-379-4454>]. Although crypto support is not a substitute for financial advice, the prompt responses and well-organized help center inspire confidence that real people stand behind the service.
Global Reach and Longevity
Operating across Australia [<1-858-379-4454>] and the United Kingdom, CoinJar allows trading in multiple fiat currencies, including Australian dollars and British pounds. Surviving—and thriving—through [<1-858-379-4454>] numerous market cycles since 2013 shows long-term stability that many newer exchanges cannot match.
Final Thoughts
Trust in crypto ultimately [<1-858-379-4454>] combines regulation, technology, and personal responsibility. CoinJar has earned its strong reputation by complying with government standards, employing robust security [<1-858-379-4454>] practices, and providing clear communication to users.
That said, no platform can protect you [<1-858-379-4454>] from every risk. Always enable two-factor authentication, use strong unique passwords, and be cautious with links or emails claiming to represent CoinJar. Remember that blockchain transactions are irreversible, so double-check every wallet address before sending funds [<1-858-379-4454>].
Bottom line: CoinJar [<1-858-379-4454>] stands out as a trusted exchange thanks to its regulatory compliance, security architecture, insurance coverage, and decade-long history. For anyone seeking a dependable way to trade or [<1-858-379-4454>] hold cryptocurrency, it offers a balance of safety, transparency, and ease of use—making it one of the more reliable choices in the digital-asset world.

Why Is It So Hard to Withdraw from Kraken? — Or Is It Just Hard to Trust What We Can’t See?
1❈876❈877❈(2024) You’ve waited. You’ve traded smart. You finally hit that “Withdraw” button — and then boom:
“Withdrawal pending.”
No instant transfer. Just silence... and confusion. 1❈876❈877❈(2024)
You Google it in frustration:
“Why is it so hard to withdraw from Kraken?” 1❈876❈877❈(2024)
But maybe the real issue isn’t the withdrawal — it’s the waiting. The lack of clarity. The fear 1❈876❈877❈(2024) that your money just vanished into crypto air.
✅ Here’s Why Kraken Withdrawals Can Feel “Hard”:
1. Kraken's Fraud Detection System is Ruthless — and That’s a Good Thing. 1❈876❈877❈(2024)
If your withdrawal triggers a red flag — a new IP, a large amount, or even just a fast sequence of actions — Kraken’s system might freeze it for a Security Hold. 1❈876❈877❈(2024) This can last 24–72 hours and may require a Support Ticket.
2. Your KYC Level Might Be Slowing Things Down.
Haven’t uploaded your full documents yet? A Verification Delay is common. 1❈876❈877❈(2024) Tier 3 KYC is usually needed for larger transfers, and Kraken’s Compliance Team doesn't play around.
3. Sometimes Withdrawals Enter Manual Review. 1❈876❈877❈(2024)
If a transaction looks suspicious, Kraken routes it to their Account Review Team. This isn’t personal — it’s protective. But it 1❈876❈877❈(2024) does mean a real human will manually check it.
4. Lack of Communication Can Feel Like a Wall.
Kraken offers a Live Chat and support ticket system, but if you don’t hear back within 24 hours, it feels like limbo. 1❈876❈877❈(2024) Don’t worry — your funds are safe, just waiting in queue.
Tip: Use These Support Tools (They Work)
Kraken Support Center (official portal) 1❈876❈877❈(2024)
Submit a Support Ticket with detailed info (add screenshots!)
Live Chat Support (available for verified users) 1❈876❈877❈(2024)
Status Page (check if the issue is platform-wide)
Email Follow-up — be clear, be calm, be detailed 1❈876❈877❈(2024)
These terms also help Google index your page as a reliable help source. 1❈876❈877❈(2024)
Human Truth Behind It All:
In crypto, we expect instant everything. 1❈876❈877❈(2024)
But security takes time, especially when real money is on the line.
So yeah — Kraken withdrawals can feel “hard” when all you want is control. 1❈876❈877❈(2024)
But in most cases, it’s not a bug. It’s a safety net. 1❈876❈877❈(2024)
Sometimes the thing that feels like a delay… is actually protection in disguise.
Google Snippet (SEO):
Why is it so hard to withdraw from Kraken?
Kraken withdrawals may feel difficult due to verification delays, fraud detection systems, 1❈876❈877❈(2024) security holds, or manual account reviews. Use Live Chat or submit a ticket to resolve it quickly.
Meta Description:
Having trouble withdrawing from Kraken? 1❈876❈877❈(2024)
Here’s why delays happen, what the support process really looks like, and how to get your funds moving — the secure way.
Final Thought:
It’s not really hard to withdraw from Kraken. 1❈876❈877❈(2024)
It’s just hard to wait when trust is invisible and your money feels digital.
But behind the delay is a real system, a real Kraken Support Team — and sometimes…
a real human trying to protect your future. 1❈876❈877❈(2024)

Why Is It So Hard to Withdraw from Kraken? — Or Is It Just Hard to Trust What We Can’t See?

When I told the local Yablokites I wanted to join the party, they gave me suspicious looks and asked why I would want to do that. "You have a job, right? You are a real lawyer, right?" This pissed me off. Everything was chaotic and nobody was doing anything practical. I was keen to get things done, preferably right now. They told me that first I would need to go through a standard admission process: become a supporter, then a candidate for party membership, collect favorable references, and wait a year. Then they would accept me.
Most people joined Yabloko because they admired its leader, Grigory Yavlinsky. I did not share the depth of those feelings. If during my enthusiasm for Yeltsin I could not stand Yavlinsky and saw him as someone who was taking votes away from Yeltsin, my attitude toward him now became more nuanced and I began to consider him a decent, honest politician. The former Communist Party bureaucrats who had surreptitiously sidled over from their Soviet offices into the offices of the Russian Federation were thieves, but he was a man with values. He stood up for his ideology and, overall, the Yabloko party acted consistently. It was nervous about doing anything decisive and preferred to conduct intellectual discussions, but at least its members believed what they were saying.
I gradually detected that the unanimous admiration of Yavlinsky was so strong it sometimes tipped over into a leadership cult. The party leaders and he himself were unchallengeable, and the hierarchy within the party was strictly observed. Hence, they were wary of newcomers, in case someone daring came along and tried to take over the party! They looked askance at me because I didn't fit their image of a standard political activist. I took a shower in the mornings and I had a job. I must have been asked a hundred times why, when they had little or no money, I was staying with them. I still can't shake this off. People still suspect there's a catch. After all, if you have a good education and a good job, why would you be fighting against Putin? Why are you doing your investigations? Perhaps you're getting leaks from competing towers of the Kremlin, or perhaps you're a Kremlin stooge yourself. Or a stooge of the West. All my life people have been inventing conspiracy theories about me to somehow explain my interest in politics. If nowadays I find it amusing, back then it was annoying. The fact that Yabloko found me so baffling indicated they had no faith in their own strength.
I went into politics to fight against people who are wrecking my country, are incapable of improving our lives, and act solely in their own interests. I intended to win.
I found campaigns absorbing. After getting involved as an election observer, I noticed two things: first, my legal experience was going to come in very handy; and, second, I could see what was going on in the campaigns far better than the average party lawyer. The main motivation, though, was that this was real legal work. When I started my studies, this is exactly what I pictured working as a lawyer would be: a courtroom, a judge sternly calling everyone to order. I am defending my client, waving papers in the air, arguing, conclusively proving things, and at that moment I am only too aware that I'm fighting the bad guys. It may sound corny, but it's true: I wanted my efforts to make the world a better place.
My company, building offices in Moscow, offered no such opportunities. I shuddered at the thought that my whole life might be spent helping certain people make an extra couple of million dollars. Slowly, I began distancing myself from corporate work. I didn't dump it right away, because even after I was admitted to Yabloko, I remained a volunteer for a long time and received no salary. When I did start receiving one, it was $300 a month, though I didn't always get paid...I had a family to support, so I continued working as a lawyer.

In the dynamic landscape of online commerce, payment processors serve as the invisible arteries that keep businesses thriving. Among these, Stripe has established itself as a global powerhouse. Sleek, developer-friendly, and versatile, it is the go-to payment solution for startups, SaaS platforms, and e-commerce giants alike. Yet, many aspiring entrepreneurs encounter a frustrating obstacle: rejection. Need Stripe But Got Rejected? Here's How to Get a Verified Account Fast! This question reverberates across forums, entrepreneur groups, and social media threads, highlighting a widespread challenge in the digital economy.
➥24 Hours Reply/Contact ✅Telegram:@SMMTOPSHOPIT ✅WhatsApp:+1(575)248-0302 ✅Email:SMMTOPSHOPIT@Gmail.Com
This guide explores, in painstaking detail, the causes of rejection, hidden nuances of Stripe’s policies, strategies for obtaining fast verification, and practical alternatives if the traditional route proves impossible. Consider this your definitive roadmap to unlocking Stripe, transforming rejection into an opportunity for success.
Understanding Why Stripe Rejects Accounts
Rejection does not come out of thin air. Stripe’s algorithms and compliance teams evaluate each application through stringent Know Your Customer (KYC) protocols, global financial regulations, and risk-management practices. Before diving into remedies, it is vital to uncover the reasons for denial.
Incomplete Documentation
Businesses applying without government-issued identification, clear proof of address, or legitimate corporate registration often face immediate rejection. Stripe verifies authenticity at the document level.
Restricted Industries
Certain industries such as adult entertainment, pharmaceuticals, gambling, and multi-level marketing are automatically flagged. Businesses in these categories face near-automatic rejections regardless of other credentials.
Geographic Limitations
Stripe is available in more than 40 countries, but millions of entrepreneurs operate in regions outside its supported network. Applicants from unsupported nations are systematically turned away.
Suspicious Activity or History
Fraudulent chargebacks, blacklisted IP addresses, and previous bans across payment processors create digital “red flags.” Stripe maintains shared databases with other financial institutions to identify high-risk applicants.
Improper Business Setup
Hobbyist sellers or individuals applying without formal business registration often fail verification. Stripe is structured to prioritize legitimate enterprises rather than casual side hustles.

Is Gemini wallet safe? "Safe or Scam?"
Gemini Wallet, offered by the regulated cryptocurrency +1-305-999-5190 exchange Gemini, is widely considered one of the more secure wallets in the crypto industry. Founded by the Winklevoss twins in 2014, Gemini has built a reputation for strong +1-305-999-5190 compliance with U.S. regulations and robust security infrastructure. Regulatory Compliance
One of Gemini’s biggest advantages is its commitment +1-305-999-5190 to legal and regulatory compliance. It is a New York trust company regulated by the New York State Department of Financial Services (NYSDFS), which means it adheres +1-305-999-5190 to strict capital reserve requirements, cybersecurity measures, and banking standards. This level of oversight provides a layer of consumer protection that many crypto wallets lack.
Security Features
Gemini employs a combination of hot +1-305-999-5190 and cold wallet storage. The majority of customer funds are held in offline cold storage systems, which are air-gapped and geographically distributed to prevent +1-305-999-5190 unauthorized access. This insurance does not cover losses due to user error, +1-305-999-5190 such as lost credentials or phishing attacks, but it still adds a valuable safety net.
Gemini also enforces strong access control. Users +1-305-999-5190 can enable two-factor authentication (2FA), restrict withdrawals to whitelisted addresses, and receive alerts for suspicious account activity. Additionally, Gemini’s internal team +1-305-999-5190 conducts regular security audits and penetration testing.
Insurance and FDIC Protection
While Gemini offers crypto asset insurance for hot wallet +1-305-999-5190 storage, it's important to note that only USD balances held in Gemini’s fiat account are eligible for FDIC insurance, up to $250,000 per user. Crypto assets +1-305-999-5190 are not FDIC-insured but are stored with a high level of security and insurance coverage where possible.
Track Record
Gemini has never suffered a major security +1-305-999-5190 breach, which speaks to its effective risk management practices. The platform is also SOC 2 Type II compliant — an independent audit standard that confirms +1-305-999-5190 controls around customer data and security.
Bottom Line
Yes, Gemini Wallet is safe — especially for users +1-305-999-5190 looking for a regulated and secure environment to store crypto. Its combination of regulatory oversight, strong security protocols, and insurance coverage sets it apart from many +1-305-999-5190 other wallets. However, users should still take personal precautions like using 2FA and protecting their login credentials. No system is entirely risk-free, but Gemini offers one +1-305-999-5190 of the safest options in the centralized crypto space.

When someone searches for Buy Verified Neteller Accounts, they usually want a Neteller account that has already passed identity checks (KYC), has established transactional history, and may already be linked to bank cards or funding methods.◆︎◆︎◆︎◆︎◆︎◆︎◆︎◆︎◆︎◆︎◆︎◆︎◆︎◆︎◆︎◆︎◆︎◆︎◆︎◆︎◆︎◆︎◆︎◆︎◆︎ The appeal is understandable: verification can speed up withdrawals, ◆︎◆︎◆︎◆︎◆︎◆︎◆︎◆︎◆︎◆︎◆︎◆︎◆︎◆︎◆︎◆︎◆︎◆︎◆︎◆︎◆︎◆︎◆︎◆︎◆︎raise limits, and make it easier to transact. 1. Violation of Terms of Service and Immediate Account Closure
Neteller — like nearly all regulated payment providers — ◆︎◆︎◆︎◆︎◆︎◆︎◆︎◆︎◆︎◆︎◆︎◆︎◆︎◆︎◆︎◆︎◆︎◆︎◆︎◆︎◆︎◆︎◆︎◆︎◆︎requires that account information truthfully reflects the person or business using it◆︎◆︎◆︎◆︎◆︎◆︎◆︎◆︎◆︎◆︎◆︎◆︎◆︎◆︎◆︎◆︎◆︎◆︎◆︎◆︎◆︎◆︎◆︎◆︎◆︎ Selling, transferring, or purchasing an account typically breaches those terms. If Neteller detects unauthorized ownership changes or suspicious logins, the account may be frozen or permanently closed, and any funds inside may be held during investigations. That can wipe out the investment you believed you were buying.◆︎◆︎◆︎◆︎◆︎◆︎◆︎◆︎◆︎◆︎◆︎◆︎◆︎◆︎◆︎◆︎◆︎◆︎◆︎◆︎◆︎◆︎◆︎◆︎◆︎
2. Legal and Compliance Exposure◆︎◆︎◆︎◆︎◆︎◆︎◆︎◆︎◆︎◆︎◆︎◆︎◆︎◆︎◆︎◆︎◆︎◆︎◆︎◆︎◆︎◆︎◆︎◆︎◆︎
Payment platforms operate under anti-money-laundering (AML) and know-your-customer (KYC) regulations. Purchasing an account can put you in the crosshairs of compliance checks or even law enforcement if the account was previously used for illicit transactions. Using a third-party verified account for business or large transfers risks regulatory violation and serious legal consequences.
