You all think you have great ideas or Pokemon games, but if I actually listened to all of you and we combined all of your ideas in a game, it would be an unplayable monstrosity. You want a game with all the regions, but only the first generation Pokemons, yet all the legendary ones and such silly things. Whenever I receive one of these rants, I go to the development floor and read it out loud to all the Game Freak employees in a mocking voice, and we all laugh at you.

The flipper bat was quite a breakthrough because it gave the player a true means of exercising and developing skill. You could aim at targets now, rather than in the old days when you popped the ball up and just shook the shit out of the table and hoped that it went in the right hole or hit the right thing. The use of the flipper bat is probably the greatest breakthrough ever in pinball. —Eddie

Several dozen of the non-English Wikipedias have, each, one article on Pokémon, the trading-card game, manga series, and media franchise. The English Wikipedia began with one article and then a jungle grew. There is a page for “Pokémon (disambiguation),” needed, among other reasons, in case anyone is looking for the Zbtb7 oncogene, which was called Pokemon (for POK erythroid myeloid ontogenic factor), until Nintendo’s trademark lawyers threatened to sue. There are at least five major articles about the popular-culture Pokémons, and these spawn secondary and side articles, about the Pokémon regions, items, television episodes, game tactics, and all 493 creatures, heroes, protagonists, rivals, companions, and clones, from Bulbasaur to Arceus. All are carefully researched and edited for accuracy, to ensure that they are reliable and true to the Pokémon universe, which does not actually, in some senses of the word, exist.

Pokémon Candy is used to both power up and evolve your Pokémon. Both of these actions will increase the CP and maximum HP of your Pokémon. Pokémon Candy is bound to a specific type of Pokémon and will only be applicable to power and evolve that type of Pokémon regardless of its evolved state. You can earn Pokémon Candy in various ways: catching a Pokémon, hatching an egg and transferring Pokémon. Stardust is used to power up your Pokémon. This will increase both its CP and maximum HP. It can only be obtained by performing certain actions such as catching Pokémon, hatching eggs and defending gyms. When catching a Pokémon, you will be rewarded with 100 Stardust and 3 Pokémon Candy for that specific type of Pokémon and its evolved forms. For instance if you catch a Pidgey, you will be rewarded with 3 Pidgey Pokémon Candy. If you catch a Pidgeot, you will also be rewarded with 3 Pidgey Pokémon Candy. For this particular reason, I recommend you catch every Pokémon that approaches you. By doing so, you can save up on Pokémon candy and Stardust. If you do not want to keep a Pokémon you have caught, you can always remove or transfer this Pokémon afterwards. We will get to transferring Pokémon in a minute. When

Pokémon with a blue glow surrounding it in your menu simply indicates that you have caught this Pokémon in the last 24 hours. If you tap on a Pokémon, you can check its name, HP below the Pokémon, CP above the Pokémon, various traits, different attacks and the location and date you caught this particular Pokémon. You can rename your Pokémon by tapping the pencil next to its name.   You may also want to give your Pokémon a power up to boost its maximum health and CP, and thus making your Pokémon more powerful. This will cost you Stardust and Pokémon candy. If you wish to get rid of a Pokémon, you will want to tap the “Transfer” button in order to transfer your Pokémon to the Professor. Note that once you transfer a Pokémon to the Professor, this Pokémon will be lost forever and cannot be retrieved.   The last category features your items. In your items you will find all the items with their quantities you currently own. Pressing the trash allows you to toss an item if you wish to do so. Your maximum capacity is 350 items, but you can buy an upgrade in the Shop if you wish to expand your capacity.   An additional feature of the main menu is the Settings panel, which you will find in the upper right of your screen. If you open up the Settings, you can toggle the Music, Sound Effects, Vibration and Battery Saver. You may also revisit Professor Willow if you missed any of his speeches using the Quick Start option. Another feature is being able to sign out. This could be useful in case you wish to log in via another account. You can check the version of the application in the Settings too.   Toggling the Battery Save option will allow you to enter the Battery Save state. To enter this state simply tick the box and hold your device upside down. Your device will enter a battery saving state, indicated by a dark screen featuring the Pokémon Go logo, until held in its authentic state again. This feature is especially useful when your device is below 5% of its battery life. To utilize the remaining battery life to the fullest extent, simply hold your device upside down and put your device where it’s most comfortable for you. Mind that you may want to have your device in a position where you can still notice vibration, because whenever a Pokémon approaches you, your device will notify you through vibration, if you’ve enabled vibration in the Settings. Whenever your device vibrates, you can turn around your device with ease to continue playing without having to unlock your device. Note that you will not be notified when passing a gym or PokéStop.   The

The settings icon is in the upper right hand corner after clicking on the pokéball icon. There are various toggles that you can turn on and off such as Music, Sound Effects, Vibration, Battery Saver, and Email Notifications.                 Most notably, you should check “Battery Saver”. This allows for the screen to go very dark with a Pokémon logo on it when the phone is turned upside down. This is extremely useful if you are going for a long walk while looking for Pokémon. You can still feel vibrations when a Pokémon is nearby, but you do not waste battery that would have been used for screen brightness. Definitely check this if you are having issues with battery life.   Nearby

Lure Modules are more powerful incenses and can only be activated at PokéStops. Once activated, all nearby trainers can see pink petals around the PokéStop on the map. Pokémon are heavily attracted to this particular PokéStop and any player nearby the PokéStop will encounter Pokémon more easily. This makes the Lure Module a great item to use with other trainers. You can purchase Lure Modules in the Shop and earn them for reaching higher trainer levels. You cannot find Lure Modules at PokéStops. The effects of Incense and Lure Modules stack. However, keep in mind that the effect of an Incense will only affect you. Other trainers will only benefit from the Lure Module. A Lure Module spawns one Pokémon about every 5 minutes. Pokémon spawned by Lure Modules will despawn after about 150 seconds, unlike normal Pokémon who generally despawn after 15 minutes. If you activate a Lure Module in a populated area, be prepared for other trainers approaching you as they may notice the pink petals around the PokéStop.   Lucky

Egg Incubators are used to hatch Pokémon Eggs, which you can find at PokéStops. When an egg is in an incubator, you have to walk a distance of 2 up to 10 kilometers to hatch the egg. The longer the distance you have to cover, the higher the odds are a rare and strong Pokémon is revealed once the egg hatches. Important to note is that you must be traveling slower than 24 kilometers per hour (= 15 miles per hour) to hatch an egg. Traveling any faster will not count towards hatching your egg. You are given one orange Egg Incubator that can be used an infinite amount of times upon registration, while blue Egg Incubators you may purchase in the Shop will only last three hatches. More in depth explanations and strategies on hatching will be revealed later in the book.   Pok

Acquiring your starter Pokémon   As with every Pokémon game, you first need to acquire your starter Pokémon. Since Pokémon Go currently only features first generation Pokémon, meaning only the very first 150 Pokémon ever made are in the game, you may choose either Squirtle: a water type Pokémon, Bulbasaur: a grass type Pokémon, Charmander: a fire type Pokémon or Pikachu: an electric type Pokémon. Simply tap on one of the Pokémon to attempt to catch it.   However, you may notice Pikachu is not currently on your screen. If you want to start out with Pikachu as your first Pokémon, you will need a different approach. In order to encounter Pikachu, you must first walk away from the three available Pokémon three to five times without catching any. If you successfully decline to choose either of these Pokémon, you will eventually encounter Pikachu. When Pikachu shows up, simply tap the Pokémon to attempt to catch it.   Now this does not mean that Pikachu is a rare Pokémon and neither are Squirtle, Bulbasaur and Charmander. Unlike some other Pokémon games, you can catch each and every one of these Pokémon in the wild. Therefore, there is no huge advantage in choosing a certain Pokémon. Choose whichever Pokémon you like best!   When you tapped either Squirtle, Bulbasaur, Charmander or Pikachu, your camera will show you your surroundings with the Pokémon you chose in it for you to catch. On the bottom of the screen you will find a Poké Ball and the amount of available Poké Balls next to it. To use a Poké Ball, you will need to swipe the Poké Ball in the right direction to hit the Pokémon.

Get to know the interface   Now that you have caught your very first Pokémon, you’re set to shape your own Pokémon future and catch them all. Back on the map, which will be the screen you visit the most, you can find various points of interest, including your character’s position. Your position on the map is updated with real-time movement in your actual surroundings. Around your character is a radius, indicated with a purple circle. You can interact with points of interest within this radius. Do note that you will only be able to interact and move around when you have an active internet connection and when the application has access to your location.   Around your character, you will see blue floating cubes: PokéStops, as well as colored buildings: gyms. We will be treating these more carefully later on in the book. On the bottom of your screen you will see three main buttons: left being your avatar, right being Pokémon that are nearby and the middle button functions as the menu.   When you tap your avatar button, you can see your character and character name, your level, your balance, a journal of your activities, your team and last but not least: your medals. Increasing your level is achieved by gaining XP, short for experience. There are various ways to gain experience, which we will cover later on in this book. In this chapter, we just want to familiarize ourselves with the interface. You can check the requirements of any achievement by simply tapping on either of them.   When you make it back to the map, we will check out the middle button next to familiarize ourselves with the main menu. There are four subdivisions in the main menu: the Pokédex, the Shop, your Pokémon and your Items. First up is the Pokédex, it contains all the Pokémon you can come across in the game numbered accordingly. Whenever you catch a Pokémon, it will be added to the Pokédex and you can check their traits by simply tapping that particular Pokémon within your Pokédex. You will be shown a brief description about the Pokémon, its possible evolutions (if applicable), the type and how many times you have encountered and caught such Pokémon.   In the Shop, you’re able to spend your Pokécoins, which is your balance or currency. Pokécoins can be acquired by maintaining one or multiple gyms, but can also be bought directly through the store for real life currency. In the Shop you can buy various items such as Poké Balls, incense, eggs, and many more items and upgrades.   The third category in the main menu shows your Pokémon. In the beginning you can carry up to 250 Pokémon and up to 9 eggs, which are also included in the Pokémon tab count. If you wish to exceed these values, you can purchase upgrades in the Shop to increase your capacity. Your Pokémon are listed with their CP, short for Combat Power and their current HP, short for Health Points. The higher a Pokémon’s combat power, the stronger this Pokémon is and the harder it would be to catch.

The last button on the main screen, your map, indicates all nearby Pokémon. You can see which Pokémon are nearby and how close they are. Their distance is measured by the amount of footsteps underneath the Pokémon. The more footsteps, the farther a Pokémon is away from you. To keep track of a Pokémon when walking around, you can tap the Pokémon to feature it on your map. This will allow you to check the amount of footsteps while walking and searching for the Pokémon. A Pokémon will be lit when you have caught it before and thus has been logged in your Pokédex.   Now that we have covered the entire interface, you are ready to move on to the next chapter in which we will cover some more fundamentals.

You now know how to obtain items, but there’s plenty of items in Pokémon Go and not only will you be much more efficient than other trainers if you know your way around with them, you’ll also waste much less time experimenting with them to find out about the correct use of items. We will look at all items individually, what they’re used for and how to obtain them as well as any additional information that may be useful. The first item we will look at are Poké Balls.   There’s currently four types of Poké Balls, listed here in ascending order of greatness to catch Pokémon: the Poké Ball, the Great Ball, the Ultra Ball and the Master Ball.   The Poké Ball is the very first Ball you will be getting your hands on, as you are given 50 Poké Balls upon registration. After this, you may buy more Poké Balls in the store, earn them for reaching a higher trainer level or find them at PokéStops. It is the weakest Ball, but also the most accessible Ball, as this type is the only type you can purchase in the Shop. Even though it may not be the most powerful Ball, you may still be able to catch quite some Pokémon with it.   It goes without saying that the Great Ball is far greater than the Poké Ball. You may first obtain a Great Ball for reaching level 12 with your trainer. You can then find Great Balls at Poké Stops and earn them for reaching higher trainer levels as well.   The Ultra Ball is the second greatest Ball in existence as of now. It will heavily increase the odds of catching a Pokémon, especially when attempting to catch a rather rare Pokémon. As with Great Balls, you cannot purchase them in the Shop. You will earn your first Ultra Balls for reaching level 20. After level 20, you will receive a batch for reaching even higher levels and can find them at PokéStops.   The Master Ball is by far the single most powerful Ball in the game currently. It catches any wild Pokémon with a whopping 100% success rate. Currently, it is unsure how a player can obtain a Master Ball. It is speculated that one Master Ball will be earned for reaching the maximum trainer level. Another theory suggests that Master Balls will only be made available at events.   Potions are used to heal your Pokémon when injured in battle. Your Pokémon may lose health while fighting in gym battles and eventually faint. A Pokémon can only faint while battling a hostile gym. If a Pokémon has fainted, it can no longer be healed with Potions. Unlike other items, Potions can only be obtained by visiting the Shop once you have reached level 5, but also when earning rewards for reaching higher levels. There are four types of Potions, listed here in ascending order of greatness: the Potion, the Super Potion, the Hyper Potion and the Max Potion.   A Potion can be obtained after level 5 and will restore up to 20 HP of an injured Pokémon.               A

Now that we have familiarized ourselves with the interface, next up are the PokéStops. PokéStops are points of interest on your map and can be found at historical markers, monuments and other important places near you. They are indicated with blue floating cubes. When you approach a PokéStop, it will change its look. When it’s within the radius of your character, tap the PokéStop to interact with it. Note that when the PokéStop is no longer in range you can no longer interact with it. For instance this could be the case if you are traveling in a vehicle.   After you have successfully opened up the PokéStop, swipe to use it. It will then give you multiple items covered in bubbles. Tap the bubbles to collect your items. You may also exit the PokéStop and you will be given your items instantly.   If you are below level 5, you will receive three to four items consisting of Poké Balls and Pokémon Eggs when activating a PokéStop. When you surpass level 5, PokéStops may give you up to six Poké Balls (including different types of Balls), as well as Revives and Potions. Once you have collected your items, the PokéStop will turn purple on your map and it cannot be used again for at least five minutes.   If you’re near or even right at your maximum capacity when interacting with a PokéStop, you will still receive experience and items and exceed your limit. You’ll now be above your maximum capacity and can no longer use PokéStops.
Jeremy Tyson (Pokemon Go: The Ultimate Game Guide: Pokemon Go Game Guide + Extra Documentation (Android, iOS, Secrets, Tips, Tricks, Hints))
A Super Potion is slightly better than a Potion and can be obtained after level 10. It will restore up to 50 HP of an injured Pokémon.   A Hyper Potion is the second best healing medicine. You can obtain a Hyper Potion after reaching level 15. Such Potions will heal up to 200 HP.   Last but not least, the Max Potion is the strongest Potion in existence currently. You can obtain Max Potions after reaching level 25. Max Potions restore full health of your injured Pokémon and are thus most effective when applied to a Pokémon with very low health.   If your Pokémon has been defeated, you will no longer be able to use Potions to heal them. Instead, you will need a Revive to restore half the health of this particular Pokémon. In friendly gym battles, your Pokémon cannot be entirely defeated. Revives can be obtained in the Shop after level 5 and when earning rewards for reaching higher levels.   Once you reach level 30, you will be able to obtain Max Revives. These Max Revives, just like ordinary Revives, revive and heal your Pokémon. However, unlike ordinary Revives, Max Revives will restore full health of fainted Pokémon.   Incense is used to attract Pokémon to you. When using incense, you are more likely to encounter Pokémon for 30 minutes. However, if you close the application, the incense will still be active and you may miss out on many Pokémon, therefore it may be worthwhile only using them when you can be active for 30 minutes straight. You are given two incense upon registration, and you can obtain more by visiting the Shop and by reaching higher levels. You cannot find any incense at PokéStops. When traveling with other trainers, the effect only applies to the trainer who used the incense. If you wish to spread the effect amongst all trainers near you, you may use a Lure Module instead. Using an incense, it is highly recommended to move around. If you remain stationary, incense attracts about one Pokémon every 5 minutes. However, if you move around, you will encounter more Pokémon. You can increase the rate of spawning Pokémon up to 1 Pokémon per minute(!) by moving 200 meters every minute. Incense does not attract already spawned Pokémon to you, it will instead spawn new Pokémon near you. These newly spawned Pokémon despawn after about 150 seconds, unlike normal Pokémon who generally despawn after 15 minutes.   Lure

Pokemon to choose? According to some reviews, Mudkip is suggested to be the best. When evolved to Swampert, it will have abilities of Surf, Strength and Waterfall while Blaziken and Sceptile will only have Cut and Strength. By level 52, Swampert will be able to learn Earthquake which is a pretty strong move for battles. Speed up battles and texts Since Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire is a big game as you could probably see and there will be a lot of battles and talks. If you will spend most of your time watching the battles and reading the texts, this will take your forever to accomplish things in the game.
