Toxic people choose to judge you and treat you bad, based on their assumptions and perceptions they have about you, not based on what you did or said. You will defend yourself to people whom you will never be right. It is not what you did, but it is what they think of you.

Being honest it doesnt mean you are always doing the right thing. It means you are truethful. In doing that you are getting more respect and being respected for the trueth you say nomatter what you did or worse is the damage. You will also be trusted in many things.

Some people feed on your misery. That is why they want to be close to you. They might act like they care, but they are here to boost their selfish ego, when you fail. They will never give you a solution, but are always pointing you problems and obstacles to stress and scare you.

One morning while standing at a café counter staring at the magnificently thick brows of the man making my coffee, I discovered one should not gaze too long at faces unless one is prepared to fall in love again. As I watched the warm air of the coffee machine steam his eyeglasses, as I noticed him squint behind the fog, as he made a flower pattern in the foam of my coffee, I felt overcome with love. Faces have a near-unwatchable intimacy, particularly in a world in which everything perishes in the end. It is difficult to look as we choose, without emotional consequence.

You may be a black belt fighter, but you're still a white belt in dealing with people. For the sake of the girl who will one day tell you she loves you...don't run away, keep training.
