THIS MAY BE ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT BOOKS I HAVE WRITTEN thus far. Why? In my many years of being a believer in Jesus, I have found that nothing is more fundamental to our Christian experience than faith. In fact, the Bible says that without faith, it is impossible to please God.

Prayer is the “oil” with which we fuel our spiritual lives, that we might be ready for whatever the Lord sends our way. Remember, nothing catches a praying person by surprise!

As a pastor, I have come across countless people who are confined to a prison of negativity that they have built with their own hands.

Lord, I release Your kingdom power in every area of my life right now, in Jesus’ name. I declare that Your strength and miraculous power invade every circumstance that lies before me, in Jesus’ name. Amen!

You and I must understand that we were created for the purpose of being in the presence of God. As new covenant believers, we have been ordained to commune regularly with the Father in the place of prayer and intercession.

As prophetic intercessors, we have the power to transform the atmosphere around us. But before we can become agents of change, we must first undergo change and transformation in our personal lives. This change begins by our accepting who God says we are. No longer must we be people to whom life just “happens.

THE FOOLISHNESS OF GOD Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men. But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty (1 Corinthians 1:25,27).

Two thousand years ago, Jesus came to destroy the works of Satan (see 1 John 3:8). The word works is the Greek word ergon, meaning business operations (Strong’s, G2041). Every residue of the curse that was introduced through Adam was removed through the atoning work of the Son of God. Jesus put Satan out of business. What was Satan’s business? Oppression, bondage, sickness, and disease.

Rebellion One of the most dangerous spirits in the body of Christ is rebellion, or any act of open resistance. The Bible says, “For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry” (1 Samuel 15:23). The Bible equates rebellion with witchcraft because the rebel is always attempting to manipulate God’s Word and will to fit his or her own will and desires. Rebels refuse to submit to God and to any God-ordained authority over their lives. Those who operate in a spirit of rebellion tend to refuse to obey God, and they incite the same disobedience in others. They generally lack a vital prayer life, because sincere prayer requires submission to God. The truth is, all of us have a tendency to walk in rebellion, at times. We must ask the Lord to uproot any spirit of rebellion in our hearts so that we may receive His gracious plans for our lives.

Prophetic Practicum Do you believe, deep within, that you are worthy to come before God in prayer? If not, pray through Psalm 51, which is a prayer of repentance, and then read Hebrews 4:16 and ask God for the confidence to “come boldly unto the throne of grace” because of what Christ did for you on the cross. Write down a prayer of supplication. Then, go back over the prayer and insert “in Jesus’ name” where appropriate, remembering that to pray in Jesus’ name means to pray according to the character and nature of Jesus. Does your prayer hold up under that definition? If so, be confident! You are guaranteed to receive divine answers. Review the prayer of supplication you just wrote. Are any of your requests merely hopes or wishes instead of prayers of faith? Ask God to show you how to align yourself with heaven by faith instead of just “crossing your fingers.

If we desire to see change and transformation in our lives, we must become people of consistent, persistent prayer.

Whatever we agree with becomes the governing force of our existence. Once we agree with God, we give His presence, power, and promises permission to dominate our lives.

The enemy knows that if he can cloud your vision, he can ultimately cloud your destiny. The good news is that God is in the business of restoring both spiritual and physical sight.

Prophetic Practicum Study Revelation 19:10, and then ask the Lord to manifest the spirit of prophecy in your everyday life. Make a list of people for whom you are praying, and ask the Lord to give you a word of wisdom concerning those individuals. Ask God to give you a prophetic word for a coworker, classmate, friend, or family member. Pray for discernment of God’s timing on when and how to release this word to them (if at all). Commit an hour a day to praying over yourself, your family, and your loved ones. Pray that God will give you a prophetic perspective concerning the circumstances of your life.

WHEN WE PRAY, GOD DOESN’T SIMPLY LISTEN TO OUR WORDS; HE LOOKS AT THE CONDITION OF OUR HEARTS.

The same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead dwells on the inside of us! (See Romans 8:11.) And if the all-powerful Holy Spirit lives in us, then we ought to approach prayer with great boldness and confidence, knowing that the Creator of the universe is on our side! Instead of accepting defeat or despair, determine what the will of God is concerning your particular situation, and then declare it with all your heart

every time you meditate on the Word of God, you are looking into God’s heart.

When we are operating in unbelief we don’t cease to believe, we simply believe something that is not true.

WHY SATAN HATES FAITH We can already see from the aforementioned things that faith is an integral part of the Christian life. I would even go so far as to say that without it we cannot really live a Christian life at all. So why does the subject of faith seem so elusive to so many people? The Bible tells us in Hebrews 11:6, “But without faith it is impossible to please Him [God]....” Satan knows that if you and I learn to walk by faith in every area of our lives, we will ultimately be pleasing to God. Therefore, the enemy has strategically brought confusion in the area of faith. It seems that faith has become a taboo word. Over the past 20 years, the church has embraced many dimensions of the New Testament paradigm, such as prophecy, apostolic ministry, the gifts of the Spirit, and revival culture; however, it seems that we have still fallen short in the area of faith. This subject has been smeared with abuse, misunderstanding, ignorance, and outright fear. Once we learn to tap into this kind of faith, we are accessing the realm of the supernatural, and it is in this environment that we experience the miraculous.

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen (HEBREWS 11:1).

The Kingdom of God, on the other hand, is not governed by reason and logic; it is governed by faith and trust in God’s Word. This doesn’t mean that God doesn’t want us to use our brain, but it does mean that the Word of God is the final authority despite facts to the contrary. In fact, we are trained our entire lives to trust in our mind. This is one of the main reasons why people are not seeing miracles, signs, and wonders in the modern church; they are too smart for their own good. We must break through the logical barrier that has kept the church trapped in intellectual excuses and spiritual powerlessness.

We must understand that God has given us all the necessary amount of faith that we need to believe and trust His Word.

And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you (Matthew 17:20 KJV).

IN THE BEGINNING In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it (JOHN 1:1-5).

We must understand that God has given us all the necessary amount of faith that we need to believe and trust His Word. Then what is the issue? Why are there so many Christians who find it difficult to believe God? Why does the supernatural seem elusive to so many? It is very simple; they have not exercised their faith, and therefore it is weak. Faith is the muscular system of the spiritual realm. Like our physical muscles, it increases with use. You didn’t do anything to earn your muscles, but you still need to use them. Muscles are developed! If you never exercise your physical muscles they will atrophy. Many believers are weak in faith, and as a result they are building their house on sand. They are unable to weather the storms of life. The Word of God says: And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you (Matthew 17:20 KJV).

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, I thank You for who You are and all that You have done in my life. I thank You that I am a seed of Abraham and that the blessing of Abraham has come on me through Jesus Christ. Just as Abraham walked in Your supernatural favor; I walk in Your favor in every area of my life. I declare that I have victory over the circumstances of my life and that I am blessed of the Most High. In Jesus’ name. Amen!

I believe that faith is the key to experiencing the miraculous power of God in our daily lives; we too can encounter the realities of the supernatural.

The spirit of poverty always causes a person to do two things: blame their circumstance for their lack, and feel entitled.

Maybe you have been taught that it is not God’s will to heal or that He uses

not just talking about memorizing a few scriptures; I am talking about making the Word of God the very final authority in your life. Jesus was so full of God’s Word that He could continue to stand firm amid great temptation. When God’s Word truly becomes more real and powerful than anything else around us, then and only then will we begin to live a supernatural lifestyle as God intended.

Unbelief imposes limits on our faith that God never intended. These limitations are rooted in fear, misinformation, and deception. Satan knows that unlimited faith is devastating to his counterfeit kingdom; therefore he does everything in his power to neutralize it. How does he accomplish this task? Well, if faith is the conviction of the truth of God’s Word, then unbelief is the conviction of a lie. When we are operating in unbelief we don’t cease to believe, we simply believe something that is not true. The disciples were convinced that the demon they were facing was too great for them to deal with. This was a lie. They had all the authority they needed to deal with the devil.

What have you said to yourself today? What are you anticipating God to do in your life? Your expectation will determine your manifestation. God is in the turnaround business.

Prophetic Practicum The Word of God has a lot to say about the specific areas of our lives, including marriage and families (see, for example, Psalm 127:3–5; Matthew 19:14; Ephesians 5), health (see, for example, Psalm 41; 3 John 1:2), ministries (see, for example, Matthew 28:18–20; Acts 9:31), and community (see, for example, Romans 13:1–7; 1 Peter 2:13–17). Using the above Scriptures as a starting point, proclaim the Word of God over several specific areas of your life. There is a direct correlation between what we are speaking out of our mouths and whether we are walking in the blessings of God. Practice speaking blessings over your life and the lives of others: blessings of rest, peace, perseverance, cheerfulness, courage, faithfulness, and prosperity. Ask the Lord to show you what principalities in the spirit world are keeping you from your inheritance. As He reveals them to you, bind them, in Jesus’ name!

Your trials and difficulties can’t break you, because the Spirit inside of you is unbreakable. Instead of giving in to the chaos and confusion around you, set your shoulders and declare, “Let there be light!” Remember, light is more powerful than darkness.

The more we give thanks, in faith, and praise God in spite of our circumstances, the more we see the manifestation of His power in our lives.

Imagine that a father who owns a business has to go away on an important trip, so he puts his son in charge during his absence. Do you think the son will fail to show up at work? Do you think he will allow the books to go unbalanced or the employees to stay home all day? God forbid! Why, then, do many people think that they are to simply hide at home and look for Jesus to crack the sky? The Lord wants believers to be about His business of advancing the kingdom, one soul at a time, one act of obedience at a time.

The most unfortunate thing that can happen to a believer is getting to heaven and meeting the Lord for the first time.

Prophetic Practicum Remember that every time you meditate on the Word of God, you are looking into God’s heart. Ask God to allow His emotions to be your emotions, so you might feel what He feels and then share that with others. Have you ever prayed for longer than five or ten minutes? If not, consider setting aside an hour to come before Jesus—no distractions; nobody else but you and God. Instead of filling the time by making requests, ask God to download divine “data” into your spiritual self. Pray specifically for the people and situations He reveals to you. You don’t have to wait for a feeling or an emotion to confirm God’s presence, because you carry the anointing inside of you twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. This week, walk into a room and simply say, “I release the power and presence of God in this room!

of God is absolutely necessary for the health and vibrancy of our total man, especially our physical body. There is a saying, “You are what you eat.” And this saying is absolutely true. Sometimes Scripture is the last thing we think about when we hear an evil report from the doctor, but the reality is that it is the most important thing we can take advantage of in those moments. Whether it is a skin disease, a bodily infection, or any other physical symptom in your body, open your mouth and declare that the Word of God is health to all your flesh. Doing this in faith will activate God’s supernatural power in your very being.

Father, in the name of Jesus, I thank You for who You are and for all that You have done in my life. Lord, I know that You are the God of more than enough, and because of You, I have everything that I need. Father, it is Your sovereign will that I flourish in every area of my life—including my finances. I declare that wealth and riches are in my house, according to Psalm 112:3. I declare that I am a kingdom financer and that You cause whatever I touch to prosper in the name of Jesus. I declare that I am a storehouse for the poor, fatherless, and widow. I declare that I am an end-time ambassador for the ​kingdom of God. I declare that heaven partners with me to distribute spiritual and physical resources to those in need.
