Into our dining room strolled James Patterson.

"Happy Birthday, Shari," he whispered
handing me the latest of the “Women’s Murder Club” series.
Anxious to skim through its contents
but knowing it would be impolite,
I escorted him to the table.
Mouths gaping, my guests stared in disbelief.
“ You’re in the novel.” He smirked.
I blurted out, " Is this the 3rd Degree
or am I the next victim of your pen?”
“YES!
