It may not be easy, in every possible case, to trace the line of separation between the rights of religion and the Civil authority with such distinctness as to avoid collisions and doubts on unessential points. The tendency to usurpation on one side or the other, or to a corrupting coalition or alliance between them, will be best guarded agst. by an entire abstinence of the Govt. from interference in any way whatsoever, beyond the necessity of preserving public order, and protecting each sect agst. trespasses on its legal rights by others. [Letter to the Reverend Jasper Adams, January 1, 1832]
James Madison (Letters and Other Writings of James Madison Volume 3)
To cut 1930s jobless, FDR taxed corps and rich. Govt used money to hire many millions. Worked then; would now again. Why no debate on that?
Richard D. Wolff
Every new & successful example therefore of a perfect separation between ecclesiastical and civil matters, is of importance. And I have no doubt that every new example, will succeed, as every past one has done, in shewing that religion & Govt. will both exist in greater purity, the less they are mixed together. [Letter to Edward Livingston, 10 July 1822 - Writings 9:100--103]
James Madison (Writings)
I know it's a really hard concept to process, but the fact that Govt accuses someone of being a Terrorist doesn't mean they are.
Glenn Greenwald
[T]here remains [in some parts of the country] a strong bias towards the old error, that without some sort of alliance or coalition between Govt. & Religion neither can be duly supported. Such indeed is the tendency to such a coalition, and such its corrupting influence on both parties, that the danger cannot be too carefully guarded agst.
James Madison (Writings)
Tax increases don’t eliminate deficits they increase govt. spending.
Ronald Reagan (The Reagan Diaries)
the Polish people be allowed to have a voice in the kind of govt. they want. Under the Yalta Pact the Soviets agreed they & others would be allowed to do this. The Soviets have never honored that promise.
Ronald Reagan (The Reagan Diaries)
The State (meaning the gov't and society) derives no inconsiderable advantage from the peoples instruction (in other words, education). The more they are instructed, the less liable they are to the delusions of enthusiasm and superstition. . . . The expense of the institutions for education and religious instruction, is likewise, no doubt, beneficial to the whole society, and may, therefore, without injustice, be defrayed by the general contribution of society.
Adam Smith
Read this morning of a black family—husband and wife both work in govt. printing office. They live in a nice house near U. of Maryland. They have been harassed and even had a cross burned on their lawn. It was all on the front page of the “Post.” I told Mike & Jim I’d like to call on them. We cleared the last part of the afternoon schedule & Nancy & I went calling. They were a very nice couple with a 4 year old daughter—grandma (a most gracious lady) lived with them. Their home was very nice & tastefully furnished. They were very nice about our coming & expressed their thanks. The whole neighborhood was lining the street—most of them cheering and applauding us. I hope we did some good. There is no place in this land for the hate-mongers & bigots.
Ronald Reagan (Reagan Diaries, Volume 1: January 1981–October 1985)
James Madison, always at the vortex of the fierce disputes over what measures these enumerated powers implied as necessary and proper, concluded—after serving for a quarter century as a congressman, secretary of state, and president—that the bedrock constitutional principle was simply to ensure that America does not “convert a limited into an unlimited Govt.
Myron Magnet (Clarence Thomas and the Lost Constitution)
Ivy League bumblers and drunks who had once pulled the levers of secret gov't in an age of high anxiety...These were the bastards who beat the bastards, unless it was all just dumb luck.
Henry Bromell (Little America)
King’s Salary It Is inhuman to talk of a million sterling a year, paid out of the public taxes of any country, for the support of an individual, whilst thousands who are forced to contribute thereto, are pining with want and struggling with misery. Govt does not consist in a contract between prisons and palaces,14 between poverty and pomp; it is not instituted to rob the needy of his mite and increase the worthlessness of the wretched.
Bhagat Singh (Jail Notebook and Other Writings)
I read R.D. Laing, I read Victor Frankl. Anything by Ken Kesey or Peter Matthiessen, Gary Snyder, Jack Kerouac, Alan Ginsberg, R. Crumb, Bob Dylan. These sacred texts are passed from one hand to another like relics of a religious past or harbingers of a new faith.
Steven Pressfield (Govt Cheese: A Memoir)
There are gods who watch over lost souls, particularly those who dream, and when these divinities’ unknowable purposes align with the enterprise of these exiled souls, a force begins to flow that is as unquenchable as it is pure, and as knowing as it is indefatigable.
Steven Pressfield (Govt Cheese: A Memoir)
As it was in Mao’s China with the Red Guard, it is a political crime in today’s Republican Party to appear well educated. So we find Senator Josh Hawley of Missouri tweeting a rant about “unelected progressive elites in our govt.”16 The senator went to Stanford, taught at St. Paul’s School in London (founded in 1509), and graduated from Yale Law School. Senator Ted Cruz denounces “coastal elites who attack the NRA.”17 Cruz was born in Calgary, Canada, graduated from Princeton and Harvard Law School, was a Supreme Court clerk, worked in the Bush administration, and is a former assistant attorney general. His wife was born in the coastal town of San Luis Obispo, California, and holds a BA from Claremont McKenna College, an MA from Université Libre de Bruxelles, and an MBA from Harvard Business School. She works as a managing director at Goldman Sachs.
Stuart Stevens (It Was All a Lie: How the Republican Party Became Donald Trump)
Until COVID, I thought that free speech was a protected fundamental right guaranteed to all citizens of the United States of America by the Bill of Rights. Having been assigned core texts like 1984, Brave New World, Animal Farm, Lord of the Flies, and The Trial and Death of Socrates in fourth and fifth grade as a “gifted and talented” student in the California school system of the time, I believed there was no way anything like what was written in those books could happen here in the USA during the 21st century.

Way back in 1918, Randolph Bourne famously wrote, “War is the health of the State.” In his unfinished letter to the American people, he expressed concern about the State’s sudden acquisition of greater power and undue control of individuals. It used to be that in times of peace, “the sense of the State almost fades out of the consciousness of men,” but unfortunately, that is no longer the case. Since 2020, we have had to engage with the State a hundred times a day, as we presented a government card to get into a restaurant, school, or airplane; when we went outside, when we failed to wear a face covering, when

As a society we need to reflect on the events to date and realize that it is critical that a vision for the transformation of how we deliver public services is the top issue to be debated in all elections. This vision is needed at all levels of gov't. - Tom Golway

Virgil was a tall man, thin, athletic, with longish blond hair and an easy smile. He was wearing a “got mule?” T-shirt, purchased in the parking lot at a Gov’t Mule show a year earlier in Des Moines, an inky-blue corduroy sport coat, and bootcut blue jeans over cordovan cowboy boots. As an agent of the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, he should have been wearing a suit with a blue or white oxford cloth shirt, a dull but coordinated nylon necktie, and high-polished black wingtips. What the BCA didn’t know, he figured, couldn’t hurt him.

Why the us government Should Maintain students Healthcare Claims education and learning is probably the finest ventures in ensuring the people stay a greater existence from the contemporary setting. Over time, education and learning methods have transformed to guarantee individuals gain access to it in the very best ways. Besides, the adjustment can be a purposeful relocate making sure that learning meets pupils distinct needs nowadays. Consequently, any country that is focused on establishing in the current technical period must be ready to devote in schooling no matter what. We appreciate that lots of claims have was able to meet the most affordable threshold in offering secondary and basic education. It is actually commendable for schooling is focused and attends on the needs in the present environment. In addition to, we certainly have observed reduced rates of dropouts due to correct education and learning systems into position. Nevertheless, it is not enough because there are many other factors that, in turn, lower the superiority of education. We appreciate the reality that educational costs is mainly purchased and virtually totally given through the express or low-successful businesses. Sadly, small is defined in range to be sure the unique treatment of learners. It has led to the indiscriminate govt accountability. Apart from putting everything in place, the government must also provide the proper healthcare of a learner because it' s the foundation of excellent learning. The arranged provision of health care to students is defined around the periphery, plus it is amongst the essential things that degrade the grade of training. Standard attendance is actually a necessity for pupils to acquire much more and carry out greater. For that reason, government entities need to ensure an original set up of arranged healthcare to pupils to ensure they are certainly not stored away from university because of health care problems. Re-Analyzing the goal of Government in mastering It can be only by re-dealing with government entitiesAnd#039; s role in supplying primary and secondary education and learning that people can completely set up the skewed the outdoors of learner’s health care and the desire to influence the state to reconsider it. The cause of why the government must pay for the student’s healthcare is that its responsibility is unbalanced. It provides maintained to purchase basic training effectively but has did not shield the health-related requirements of any learner. Aside from, it is suitably interested in increasing the size of young menAnd#039; s and ladiesAnd#039; s chances in obtaining technical and professional education. But it has not searched for has and aims unacceptable method of achieving the medical care requirements of any learner. As a result, education require is not met because its services are skewed. The possible lack of equilibrium in government activities replicates the malfunction to discrete primarily sharply amid the steps right for authorities financing and activities to become implemented. Financing healthcare for students, which is equally essential, is neglected, though Financing education is largely accepted. For that reason, this is a deliberate demand government entities to perform the circle by paying for student' s health care. When there is stability in federal government commitments in education and learning, its requirements will probably be fulfilled. So, the state should pay for pupil' s medical care. If they are healthful, they find out better. In addition to, a large stress will probably be lifted, and will also unquestionably raise enrolment in professional coachingcenters and colleges, along with other studying companies.

frequently cite the example of Uttar Pradesh, one of India’s largest states with a population two-thirds the size of the US. With a careful door-to-door surveillance strategy in combination with a prevention and early treatment regime using Ivermectin, Uttar Pradesh effectively eliminated COVID-19 from their state of 241 million people. The history books will (I hope) rightly recognize their efforts as one of the most successful public health interventions ever [42,

Similar results have been seen in places like Mexico, Peru, Argentina, the Philippines, Japan, and elsewhere. But in North America, Europe, and Australia, organized, deep-pocketed, and highly effective opposition to such programs led to some of the highest case fatality rates in the world. What will the history books say about that?

Regarding fluvoxamine, the FLCCC incorporated it into our treatment protocol on April 27, 2021, with great effect. That practice was affirmed in October 2021, when a large, double-blind randomized controlled trial, published in the Lancet, found fluvoxamine reduced COVID-19 mortality rates by up to 91 percent and hospitalizations by two-thirds in those who adhered

Madison is not only the Father of the Constitution and the Father of the Bill of Rights, but also perhaps the greatest advocate for the separation of state and church. “Every new & successful example therefore of a perfect separation between ecclesiastical and civil matters, is of importance;” he wrote in 1822, adding, “And I have no doubt that every new example, will succeed, as every past one has done, in showing that religion & Govt. will both exist in greater purity, the less they are mixed together.

As a writer, I think it is my duty to be as responsible as I can with (my)perspective, insights, experiences, & values. Being raised in a black & white- "good & bad" societal mentality has frustrated me. My common mentors (societal, religious, govt., authoritative', etc.) presented a skewed ‘role-model’ to me; colouring the world/‘s of myself, and other people, with their own personal expectations of how society should be. It’s not really trusting people to grow into who they are as a person. Going back to my original verve for writing has meant working (tirelessly) to (try to) remove habitual things; finite statements, assumptions, misinformation, misunderstanding, as well as cyclical (fear-based) conditioning. I want to be responsible. And this has meant that I had to work hard to shake loose from the past. Sometimes it meant screaming "How dare you teach me fear & ignorance!" into my pillow- as I work at ripping the (imposed) bars away from my craft. I am still working at it, and, as hard as it has been- it’s been worth it. I value the integrity of writing (as a creative craft) so very much. I always admired those writers who stood out from the traditional. The writers who challenged the conventional. Those [writers] who dared to present a balanced perspective- no matter how uncommon... To me, they were the best teachers. They inspired unchained learning, wisdom, and developmental skills... Those things which I see as gifting readers with bountiful landscapes into their [readers] own souls. This is what it means, for me, to be a writer. That does not mean it is what it has to mean for others. Each of us get our own unique voices, styles, expressions, dreams, and creativity. I also want to be understood- clearly, truly, and genuinely- as a human, and as a writer. And I want to foster my imagination, creativity, and passion; building a world that I love- knowing that other people may also enjoy it, and some may not.

The gov’t stole from their own people for decades. They’re still at it. Did people say anything? Did they protest? No. Their children dressed in rags and went hungry. Nobody stood up to those men. And yet a poor man would be lynched for stealing tomatoes.’ ‘So it goes,’ says Mary. ‘I’m afraid it does,’ says Adrian. Displaced anger, one of the most brutal paradoxes of exploited people. Govt to help dropouts study further’ 98 words Union HRD Minister Smriti Irani Saturday said the government will roll out a programme by this year-end wherein school dropouts, who were forced to take up a job or those who opt to exit education due to financial worries, will be facilitated back into studies up to PhD level. “When it comes to specialisation (in education), women, tribal children, children from Scheduled Castes, Other Backward Castes are not economically empowered to possibly study further and many of them drop out because they need to go and get themselves a job...I left education because I didn’t have money,” Irani said.

Looking back, I am struck by how sheltered and naive I was (pre-COVID), and how much my worldview and my role in it have been radically shifted by subsequent events.
Robert W. Malone (Lies My Gov't Told Me: And the Better Future Coming)
Apparently, the government believed that we as a nation must give up our precious freedoms of free speech and a free press due to declaration of a public health emergency. I will write it as clearly as I can: censorship and its “big brother”—propaganda—is not the answer. The ramifications of these choices by our government to censor, lie, and obscure will go down in history. If the truth-tellers—scientists, writers, journalists, and authors—are not allowed to document the true story, a revisionist history will emerge. The alternative history being provided by the US government and promulgated by tech giants will allow such outbreaks to occur more easily in the future and allow those who failed us to remain in control of our governmental functions.
Robert W. Malone (Lies My Gov't Told Me: And the Better Future Coming)
I am firmly committed to a belief that the American experiment in self-governance, forged in another crucible, the tyranny of a mad king, remains relevant today. I reject the twisted logic of those who assert that these principles are obsolete, antiquated, and must be replaced with a system built upon a collectivist and globalist totalitarian vision, a system of government and command-and-control economic activity that have consistently failed every time they have been tried throughout history.

I stayed nine weeks. The last four were offshore. Pay doubled on the rigs to four dollars an hour but the best part was meals were free (steak for dinner every night with unlimited milk from the machine) and every week was eighty hours with forty of that counting as time-and-a-half.

What was going through my mind during this time? Nothing. Blue smoke was pouring out of the van’s exhaust. My tires were shot. I couldn’t think beyond that. I was utterly miserable with no plan and not even the thought of hope. I didn’t think about the past. I had no concept of a future. I was happy to be working, though. I was happy to have a bunk and a place to stay. Things could be a lot worse. The first paycheck came after two weeks. I actually opened an account at a rolling branch of the Mississippi River Bank.

In short, I have spent much of my career working on vaccine development. I have also had extensive experience in drug repurposing for infectious disease outbreaks. My contributions to science and industry are outstanding. I am proud of my contributions. My friendships and connections with professional colleagues have persisted for years. So, when I am defamed by the New York Times, Washington Post, The Atlantic, or others, I know that there is more driving their character assassination attempts than efforts to report actual truth. These attacks are not about “me” personally, but rather about me speaking outside of the approved government and WHO/WEF narrative concerning COVID-19 policies.

All that the WHO and national public health bureaucracies (including the US HHS) had to do was to recommend and support people taking sufficient Vitamin D3. This failure to act traces back to the unscientific bias and provaccine obsession of Dr. Anthony Fauci. And once again the legacy corporate media, while being paid by the US government and the pharmaceutical industry to promote vaccination, acted by censoring, defaming, and suppressing the ability of physicians to inform people of scientific truth. The disease you suffered, the loss of life among your family and friends, could have been greatly reduced by simply getting enough Vitamin D3.
Robert W. Malone (Lies My Gov't Told Me: And the Better Future Coming)
Eighteen months into the COVIDcrisis, many people suddenly realized that Dr. Anthony Fauci, longstanding director of the National Institutes of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), was not the benign, selfless, fatherly protector of public health that corporate media had made him out to be. I had known for decades of his failure to follow the clinical research standards that should apply to scientists. I had lived through the consequences of his aggressive moves to gather power and money at the expense of other scientists and federal agencies. My decades of professional experience in dealing with the NIAID in the context of grant and contract peer review, combined with Jill’s PhD research project concerning the NIH peer review system, had left me with little respect for Dr. Fauci’s professional integrity.

The nation and its governing arms (including the intrenched bureaucracy often referred to as the “deep state” or “administrative state”) now primarily serve the interests of multinational corporations as well as their managers and owners, instead of the other way around—serving the general citizenry. The term that best describes this system of government is called inverted totalitarianism.
Robert W. Malone (Lies My Gov't Told Me: And the Better Future Coming)
The United States has been co-opted into a “managed democracy.” The American republic was placed into the hands of oligarchs by bureaucratic imperatives and managerial principles and practices, which have created a creeping form of totalitarianism. Now we can clearly see the liberties and freedom guaranteed by the US Constitution being eroded rapidly just as Wolin predicted. The consequence is the establishment of this new form of totalitarianism, which (unlike classical totalitarianism) does not have an authoritarian leader. Instead, inverted totalitarian governments are run by a nontransparent group of managers and elites who manage the country from within. What President Trump might call the “deep state.” Or what Steve Bannon originally called the “Uniparty.” In effect, our democracy has been turned upside down while being captured by corporate interests that endorse authoritarian policies—hence “inverted totalitarianism

In my little house I have my worktable, I have my Smith-Corona, my mattress, my box springs, my bed frame. I have a couch I found on the street in Pacific Grove. I have kitchen utensils—a pot, a teakettle, a frying pan. I have one spoon and one fork. I have a knife. I have no TV, no radio, no stereo. This is before computers, so no email, no Instagram, no social media. I have no correspondents. I write to nobody—not friends, not family. Nobody. And nobody writes to me. My day goes like this. I wake before dawn, eat a breakfast for a lumberjack. Four eggs, raw milk, potatoes, tomatoes. Bacon or sausage are too weak for me. Liver. A big slab for power. I walk for an hour. The sun is coming up now.

Paul doesn’t admire writers personally. “The ones I’ve known are mostly self-involved pricks and egomaniacs. I don’t condemn them. It’s the agony of the process. I wouldn’t want a son or daughter of mine to write. I would try to talk you out of it too, Steve, but I can see there’s no chance of that.
Steven Pressfield (Govt Cheese: A Memoir)
I don’t know what you’re writing, Steve. I don’t want to know. I’ll never read it. I’ll never judge it. All I ask of it, and of you, is that it come from that sacred space inside you and that it stay true, as you write it, to the ideals of that hallowed precinct.
Steven Pressfield (Govt Cheese: A Memoir)
I write all day. I have no idea what I’m doing. I have never heard of narrative structure or theme or concept or act 1, act 2, act 3. I work entirely on instinct. I’m writing, as I said, about Burton Lines, about the trucking company. I’m writing about myself.
Steven Pressfield (Govt Cheese: A Memoir)
And I read. I write all day and read all night.
Steven Pressfield (Govt Cheese: A Memoir)
I read War and Peace, I read Madame Bovary, I read Fathers and Sons, The Red and the Black, Crime and Punishment, The Brothers Karamazov. I read Hunger, Anna Karenina, Don Quixote. I read Tropic of Cancer and Tropic of Capricorn, Sexus, Nexus, Plexus, Quiet Days in Clichy. I read Big Sur and the Oranges of Hieronymus Bosch. My friend Paul is a character in this one.
Steven Pressfield (Govt Cheese: A Memoir)
I read everything you’re supposed to read in high school and college but never do, or if you do, you’re so psyched to read to the test that you don’t learn a damn thing. Am I learning anything now? Fuck no. The books pass through my consciousness like sunlight through glass. I don’t care. They’re in my cells now. I love them. Their impress has etched itself in some occult recess of my heart.
Steven Pressfield (Govt Cheese: A Memoir)
I wish every aspiring writer or artist could have a year or two years like this—a season when you have no responsibilities except to your own Muse and your own daimon, a run of months when you’re invisible to everybody but yourself, when you don’t give a shit about anything except the challenge before you, when you could drop dead on the street and no one would stop except to step over your cold corpse, and you don’t care.
Steven Pressfield (Govt Cheese: A Memoir)
When you’re alone with your solitary obsession, each day builds upon the one before. Energy concentrates. Your passion and intensity create a planet all your own, like the one the Little Prince lived on in Saint-Exupery’s book. This planet possesses its own gravitational field, and that field draws unto itself like-minded particles from space, from the aether, from the Big Bang. I mean ideas. Ideas for scenes, for dialogue, for characters, for conflicts. This field draws phrases you have never spoken. It attracts words you never knew you knew.

Marty has one other mantra: “Talent is bullshit.” “I’ve seen a million writers with talent. It means nothing. You need guts, you need stick-to-it-iveness. It’s work, you gotta work. That’s why you’re gonna make it, son. You work. No one can take that away from you. “And I’ll tell you something else,” Marty says. “Appreciate these days. These days when you’re broke and struggling, they’re the best days of your life. You’re gonna break through, my boy. And when you do, you’ll look back on this time and think this is when I was really an artist, when everything was pure and I had nothing but the dream and the work. Enjoy it now. Pay attention. These are the good days. Be grateful for them.

That’s how I feel now, here in California, in my little house behind the big house. I have my list of approved players—Dostoevsky, Tolstoy, Hemingway, Mark Twain, Virginia Woolf, Melville, Faulkner, Fitzgerald, Chekhov, Harper Lee, Philip Roth, Saul Bellow, Homer, Plato, Xenophon, Shakespeare, King David.
Steven Pressfield (Govt Cheese: A Memoir)
I’m not motivated by greed, fame, or recognition. I’m in it for the game itself. Ambition, yes. I want to be good. Like myself at thirteen, I can’t hit the ball for shit. I can’t make it go right or left, I can’t hit it as long as I want, and I sure as hell can’t do it on demand. So I do it over and over, and when I’m done I do it over again. I do it in all weathers. And when I’m too tired to keep doing it myself, I watch other players whose level of skill I aspire to. I watch them do it.
Steven Pressfield (Govt Cheese: A Memoir)
I’m trying. I’m giving it my all. The thought of tailoring my output to any market or to please any imagined audience never enters my mind. This is for me. I’m writing to save my own life.
Steven Pressfield (Govt Cheese: A Memoir)
I type that. I type the whole chapter and the one after that and the one after that. Do I have a plan? Am I taking notes? I’m working mindlessly, like a chimpanzee. I want Hemingway’s stuff to sink into me by osmosis.
Steven Pressfield (Govt Cheese: A Memoir)
I sit at my table with The Sun Also Rises open and Mo snoozing beside the typewriter. I put on a bathrobe and slippers and went to the door. It was Brett. Back of her was the count. He was holding a great bunch of roses. I type that. I type the whole chapter and the one after that and the one after that. Do I have a plan? Am I taking notes? I’m working mindlessly, like a chimpanzee. I want Hemingway’s stuff to sink into me by osmosis. But I’m paying attention too. Hemingway’s style is cinematic. He makes you see. I went to the door. It was Brett. Back of her was the count. I’m trying to copy that. When you haul yourself up into the cab of a tractor-trailer, where does your foot go? What grab-handle do you seize? With which hand? Is the metal cold? What do you see as you slide into the driver’s seat? Smell? Hear? What does the instrument panel look like? What do you see through the windshield? What emotions are you feeling? Are you excited? Scared? Bored? Do you hate being here? Do you love it? What does it mean to you? How can I, the writer, reproduce that in you, the reader?
Steven Pressfield (Govt Cheese: A Memoir)
The only thing I want is to exorcise and eradicate from my psyche every belief, assumption, thought, aspiration, dream, hope and moral principle I have been taught or imbibed in my entire life. They don’t work. They have led me to this. I hate them. I abhor every person and institution that has brainwashed or indoctrinated me into believing them. I hate myself for buying into this bullshit. I want to replace it all as fast and as permanently as I can with whatever long-haired, counter-culture, freakazoid Mr. Natural doctrine and belief system I can derive from my new friends in the house and from Charles and David. I want to be like the freaks I saw at Buster Holmes’ in the French Quarter. Can I pass through a membrane that will deposit me, somehow, on the other side? I want it. I want to find that portal and transmigrate through. Does there exist a state of mind, a mode of being, a sphere of consciousness that will somehow obliterate everything I have ever believed? I want to find this and jump through with both feet. In the meantime, I have to find work.
Steven Pressfield (Govt Cheese: A Memoir)
We become friends instantly. I simply gravitate to him. Tony is the first person I’ve ever met who actually possesses self-discipline. I have never encountered this before. Other individuals I’ve admired for their focus and commitment have jobs or are in the military. They adhere to their institution’s norms and protocols. That’s discipline, but it’s not self-discipline. It’s externally imposed, not generated from within.
Steven Pressfield (Govt Cheese: A Memoir)
The pain expressed is derived from real pain. Its genesis is actual suffering, endured by a real person. But the song itself and its rendition are not the real pain, or the artist would choke up and break down. Instead the warble in her voice, the catching of the throat in her performance is art. It is not life. It is artifice. There’s something very deep here. How do we endure pain? How do we transcend it? We turn it into art.
Steven Pressfield (Govt Cheese: A Memoir)
We emerge from prison bearing agonies that would crush a stone. How do we survive these? We transform them. We get a tattoo. We ink an entire sleeve. We cover our chest and back with swastikas, death’s-heads, and quotes in bogus Mandarin from Kill Bill, Volume Two. We blast our pecs. We pierce our flesh. We customize Harleys. We shave our skull. We craft an image of ourselves, even if it’s one—especially if it’s one—as predictable as low-ride jeans and chrome-link wallet chains. That’s art. That’s our novel. This is what the writer wrestles with. This is the passage. You pound keyboards until you wear the sonsofbitches out. Each page is trash. Unreadable. Unpublishable.
Steven Pressfield (Govt Cheese: A Memoir)
I don’t know what your story is, son, and I don’t wanna know. I can see you’re working something out in your life. I can see you’re trying your best. I can cut you slack. I’m trying to. But there’s one thing you have to understand.

The First Principle of the Nuremberg Code is: The voluntary consent of the human subject is absolutely essential. This means that the person involved should have legal capacity to give consent; should be so situated as to be able to exercise free power of choice, without the intervention of any element of force, fraud, deceit, duress, overreaching, or other ulterior form of constraint or coercion; and should have sufficient knowledge and comprehension of the elements of the subject matter involved as to enable him to make an understanding and enlightened decision.

The concentration of such immense power to control information and understanding in so few individuals and organizations is unprecedented in human history. Those in power not only promoted their story, but effectively crushed dissent, along with the medical ethics and the civil liberties norms that so many of us had taken for granted.

Our conscious mind does not directly know reality. It holds a model of what it believes to be true, and then compares incoming information to this model. Psychological experiments involving hypnosis have demonstrated that if our internal models of reality are shaped to deny the possibility of an existing object, we will actually not be able to “see” that which is demonstrably present in the stream of photons that our eyes detect or the audio waves that our ears hear. In other words, we can only see that which we believe exists, that which is consistent with our own personal model of reality.

I am an internationally recognized scientist/physician, and the original inventor of mRNA and DNA vaccination (resulting in nine issued patents with a priority date of 1989) as well as mRNA- and DNA-based gene therapy [1–8]. I am also an inventor or early adopter of multiple nonviral DNA and RNA/mRNA platform delivery technologies. I hold numerous fundamental domestic and foreign patents in the fields of gene delivery, delivery formulations, and vaccines. I have been working in the fields of advanced clinical development and vaccinology for almost forty years. My Google Scholar ranking is 50, which is the ranking of an outstanding full professor.

So, I think COVID was a convenient excuse. As we roll through time, I’m starting to think this was a plan. I don’t have evidence, but the fact that we’re not stopping what’s going on suggests to me that it’s a conspiracy of interests, and they don’t want to stop the rollout of these vaccines. And the longer this goes on, the more convinced I become that COVID may have been a plan. I used to say it was a convenient excuse, but the longer this goes on, the more ridiculous this becomes. This has the appearance of ill intent.

But I never really allowed myself to confront the possibility that we might not be the good guys, the white hats. Until I experienced what we have all been through over the last two years.

One of the hallmarks of the Trump era is the alacrity with which intelligent people embrace stupidity. Senator Ted Cruz denounces “coastal elites who attack the NRA.”17
