The Bible teaches that woman brought sin and death into the world, that she precipitated the fall of the race, that she was arraigned before the judgment seat of Heaven, tried, condemned and sentenced. Marriage for her was to be a condition of bondage, maternity a period of suffering and anguish, and in silence and subjection, she was to play the role of a dependent on man's bounty for all her material wants, and for all the information she might desire on the vital questions of the hour, she was commanded to ask her husband at home. Here is the Bible position of woman briefly summed up.
Elizabeth Cady Stanton (The Woman's Bible)
You’re our sister—live bountifully!        And your children, triumphantly!

Return, O my soul, to your  irest; for the LORD has  jdealt bountifully with you.
Anonymous (Holy Bible: English Standard Version (ESV))
6 But this I say: He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. 7 So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver.
Anonymous (The One Year Bible NKJV)
That’s why I get hired again and again. Call me an idiot, call me a reckless moron, call me a lucky son of a bitch, call me whatever you want. I’m here because at the end of the day, I survive. At the end of the day, I win. Every. Single. Time.
Jake Bible (Razer Edge (Roak: Galactic Bounty Hunter #3))
6The point is this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully [4] will also reap bountifully. 7Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.

We can begin to focus on the eternal if we live to love God and others (the Jesus Creed), if we pursue justice as the way we are called to love others as God’s creations, if we live out a life that drives for peace as how loving people treat one another, and if we strive for wisdom instead of just knowledge or bounty.
Scot McKnight (Sermon on the Mount (The Story of God Bible Commentary Book 21))
For Alwyn's grandfather, who was known as "the greatest talker in the country," used words which no one else understood, words which he did not understand, and words which do not exist, to swell a passionate theme, to confound his neighbors in an argument, and for their own sake. He would say, for example, "My farm was the very apocalypse of fertility, but the renter has rested on his oars till it is good for nothing," or "Manifest the bounty to pass the salt shaker in my direction." Something of the Bible, something of an Irish inheritance, something of a liar's anxiety, made of his most ordinary remark a strange and wearisome oratory.
Glenway Wescott (The Grandmothers: A Family Portrait)
the glorious words of the 1599 Geneva Bible: Love suffereth long: it is bountiful: love envieth not: love doth not boast itself: it is not puffed up: It doth no uncomely thing: it seeketh not her own thing: it is not provoked to anger: it thinketh no evil: It rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth: It suffereth all things: it believeth all things: it hopeth all things: it endureth all things. Love doth never fall away, though that prophesyings be abolished, or the tongues cease, or knowledge vanish away.
Alan Bradley (The Golden Tresses of the Dead (Flavia de Luce, #10))
Behold, a king shall reign in righteousness, and princes shall rule in judgment. 2. And a man shall be as an hiding place from the wind, and a covert from the tempest; as rivers of water in a dry place, as the shadow of a great rock in a weary land. 3. And the eyes of them that see shall not be dim, and the ears of them that hear shall hearken. 4. The heart also of the rash shall understand knowledge, and the tongue of the stammerers shall be ready to speak plainly. 5. The vile person shall be no more called liberal, nor the churl said to be bountiful.
Anonymous (Authorized King James Version Holy Bible)
But I trusted in your steadfast love;           my heart shall rejoice in your salvation. 6 I will sing to the LORD,           because he has dealt bountifully with me.

The children and young people upon whom came this outpouring of the Holy Spirit and through whom came these visions and revelations were members of the Adullam Rescue Mission in Yunnanfu, Yunnan Province, China. For the most part, these children had been beggars in the streets of the city. In some cases they were poor children with one or both parents dead and had been brought to the Home. There were also some prodigals who had run away from their homes in more distant parts of this or adjoining provinces. But from whatever source they came, these children, mostly boys ranging in ages from six to eighteen, had come to us without previous training in morals and without education. Begging is a sort of "gang" system in which stealing is a profitable part. The morals are what would be expected of a "gang" in a godless land. The Bible is carefully and daily taught in the Adullam Home, and the gospel is constantly preached. Since the children coming into the home have always been open to the teachings given, before the outpouring of the Holy Spirit recorded below, some of them were doubtless converted, while many had a very good knowledge of the main themes of the Bible. All who received the Holy Spirit knew enough to believe in one God and to trust in the blood of Christ for salvation. They also prayed for the fullness of the Holy Spirit. They sought Christ. We did not see any one seeking visions or any of the manifestations that were received day by day as all single heartedly prayed and praised the Lord Jesus. He alone was sought and magnified throughout all the weeks of the Spirit's outpouring. In this visitation from the Lord all were treated impartially. The oldest and the youngest, the first arrivals and the latest comers, the best and the worst, all sitting together around their common Father's table were alike treated to His heavenly bounties. This giving of the Promised Spirit was clearly a love gift of grace "apart from works" or personal merit. It was not something that was worked

God sometimes bestows his bounty more   profusely, and, at other times, more sparingly, upon his children,   according as he sees it to be most for their good;
John Calvin (Complete Bible Commentaries (Active Table of Contents in Biblical Order))
*The majority of evangelical growth is through conversion. Islam, on the other hand, often uses threats and persecution to build up the ranks. These “conversions” are not based on conviction but are merely “survival techniques.” *Eighty-five percent of the world has a Bible available in their native language. *There have been 6.5 billion viewings of the Jesus film. *It is estimated that when Father Zakaria Botros (a Coptic Christian apologist who debates Islamic clerics) is on television in the Middle East, 60 million viewers watch. Al-Qaeda has honored him with the words “one of the most wanted infidels in the world,” and has put a million dollar bounty on his head. *In Iran, 7

Gott, thank You for Your bountiful blessings. You have given me much. You know my heart and what it longs for, but I will trust You to do what You think is best. Please be by my side on this day which You have created, let me rejoice and be glad in it. Help me to dwell on the blessings that I do have and not on that which I don’t. Guide my steps and use me to bring joy to others and glory to You. You are my all. Thy will be done. Amen.

So this is my prayer: that your love will flourish and that you will not only love much but well. Learn to love appropriately. You need to use your head and test your feelings so that your love is sincere and intelligent, not sentimental gush. Live a lover’s life, circumspect and exemplary, a life Jesus will be proud of: bountiful in fruits from the soul, making Jesus Christ attractive to all, getting everyone involved in the glory and praise of God.

4 Love suffereth long: it is bountiful: love envieth not: love doth not boast itself: it is not puffed up: 5 It distaineth not: it seeketh not her own things: it is not provoked to anger: it thinketh not evil: 6 It rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth: 7 It suffereth all things: it believeth all things: it hopeth all things: it endureth all things. 8 Love doth never fall away, though that prophesyings be abolished, or the tongues cease, or knowledge vanish away. 9 For we know in part, and we prophesy in part. 10 But when that which is perfect, is come, then that which is in part, shall be abolished. 11 When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things. 12 For now we see through a glass darkly: but then shall we see face to face. Now I know in part: but then shall I know even as I am known. 13 And now abideth faith, hope and love, even these three: but the chiefest of these is love.

Oh, strange infatuation that you, who has borrowed everything, should think of exalting yourself—a poor, dependent pensioner upon the bounty of your Savior, one who has a life that dies without fresh streams of life from Jesus, and yet is proud! Fie on you, O silly heart!
Charles Haddon Spurgeon (Morning and Evening: A New Edition of the Classic Devotional Based on The Holy Bible, English Standard Version)
13:6 I will sing unto the LORD, because he hath dealt bountifully with me.

The technical attitude is manipulative; the bountiful attitude is receptive. In the technical attitude, we recruit god or the gods to do our will, the will that was ours before we reached out to the divine. But in the bountiful attitude God recruits us to do his will. In the technical attitude the god is an instrument, a means, a technique, but in the bountiful attitude God is the ultimate end of all our means and all our striving.
Christopher Watkin (Biblical Critical Theory: How the Bible's Unfolding Story Makes Sense of Modern Life and Culture)
The righteous will surround me, for you will deal bountifully with me” (v. 7). Here is staggering confidence in God! No matter what the wicked plot and how powerful they are, God is greater and he will deliver. Is this not the heart of the message of the gospel itself? No matter how great is our opponent—which, among other things, includes the sin and guilt of our own lives—God is greater, and his provision more fully revealed in Jesus Christ for our deliverance cannot fail. In Christ we know that the righteous will surround us, that God will deal bountifully with us. In Christ, we are invincible.

We dumped some magazines out of a basket and piled in the phones. Then we went striding through the house with our shoulders thrown back, triumphant. We yelled out names and passed out bounty. We showered them with devices. We were heroes and paragons. Liberators and saints. There was still the problem of the power outage, but we agreed to share our spare battery packs. “Now we can do everything!” said Jen. Juicy unleashed a string of happy obscenities. Val nodded with an air of satisfaction. Low had tears in his eyes. I

One wonders, then, why God allowed literally tons and mountains of evidence to remain in verification of the Bible. Church leaders have become very concerned by the questions being raised due to the absence of evidence, and the fact that descriptions of cities, rivers, mountains, and journeys in the Book of Mormon cannot be correlated at all with topography and geography. To quiet these questions, for which The Brethren have no answers, an article was published in the Church Section of the Deseret News cautioning Church members about putting too much importance upon facts and evidence: The geography of the Book of Mormon has intrigued some readers of that volume ever since its publication. But why worry about it? Efforts to pinpoint certain places from what is written in the book are fruitless.... Attempts to designate certain areas as the Land Bountiful or the site of Zarahemla or the place where the Nephite city of Jerusalem sank into the sea "and waters have I caused to come up in the stead thereof" can bring no definitive results. So why speculate? To guess where Zarahemla stood can in no wise add to anyone's faith. But to raise doubts in people's minds about the location of the Hill Cumorah, and thus challenge the words of the prophets concerning the place where Moroni buried the records, is most certainly harmful. And who has the right to raise doubts in anyone's mind? Our position is to build faith, not to weaken it, and theories concerning the geography of the Book of Mormon can most certainly undermine faith if allowed to run rampant. Why not leave hidden the things that the Lord has hidden? If He wants the geography of the Book of Mormon revealed, He will do so through His prophet....

The reality of keeping the law is to live God and express God. Such a living, a living in the eternal economy of God, is the living of a God-man, a life of continually denying the self and being crucified to live Christ, who is God’s testimony, by the bountiful supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ for the enlarged and expanded expression of God (Matt. 16:24; Gal. 2:20; Phil. 1:19-21a; Rom. 8:4
Living Stream Ministry (Holy Bible Recovery Version (contains footnotes))
This petition very wisely reminds us of how prayer works. If people prayed this prayer, and then sat back and waited for bread to fall into their hands, they would certainly starve. It reminds us that prayer and work go hand in hand and that when we pray we must go on to work to make our prayers come true. It is true that the living seed comes from God, but it is equally true that it is our task to grow and to cultivate that seed. Dick Sheppard, the famous pacifist and preacher, used to love a certain story. There was a man who had an allotment; he had with great toil reclaimed a piece of ground, clearing away the stones, eradicating the rank growth of weeds, enriching and feeding the ground, until it produced the loveliest flowers and vegetables. One evening he was showing a pious friend around his allotment. The pious friend said: ‘It’s wonderful what God can do with a bit of ground like this, isn’t it?’ ‘Yes,’ said the man who had put in such toil, ‘but you should have seen this bit of ground when God had it to himself!’ God’s bounty and human toil must combine. Prayer, like faith, without works is dead. When we pray this petition, we are recognizing two basic truths – that without God we can do nothing, and that without our effort and co-operation God can do nothing for us.
William Barclay (New Daily Study Bible: The Gospel of Matthew 1)
