There’s a word in Spanish that encompasses all this: aprovechar. It means to use something wisely—be it a sunny day at the beach or leftovers made into a delicious new meal. It’s getting full value from life, enjoying all the good that each moment and each thing has to offer. You can aprovecha a simple meal, a bowl of ripe strawberries, or a cruise in the Bahamas. There’s nothing miserly about aprovechar; it’s a succulent word, full of sunlight and flavor. If only frugal sounded so sweet.

POEM – MY AMAZING TRAVELS [My composition in my book Travel Memoirs with Pictures] My very first trip I still cannot believe Was planned and executed with such great ease. My father, an Inspector of Schools, was such a strict man, He gave in to my wishes when I told him of the plan. I got my first long vacation while working as a banker One of my co-workers wanted a travelling partner. She visited my father and discussed the matter Arrangements were made without any flutter. We travelled to New York, Toronto, London, and Germany, In each of those places, there was somebody, To guide and protect us and to take us wonderful places, It was a dream come true at our young ages. We even visited Holland, which was across the Border. To drive across from Germany was quite in order. Memories of great times continue to linger, I thank God for an understanding father. That trip in 1968 was the beginning of much more, I visited many countries afterward I am still in awe. Barbados, Tobago, St. Maarten, and Buffalo, Cirencester in the United Kingdom, Miami, and Orlando. I was accompanied by my husband on many trips. Sisters, nieces, children, grandchildren, and friends, travelled with me a bit. Puerto Rico, Los Angeles, New York, and Hialeah, Curacao, Caracas, Margarita, Virginia, and Anguilla. We sailed aboard the Creole Queen On the Mississippi in New Orleans We traversed the Rockies in Colorado And walked the streets in Cozumel, Mexico. We were thrilled to visit the Vatican in Rome, The Trevi Fountain and the Colosseum. To explore the countryside in Florence, And to sail on a Gondola in Venice. My fridge is decorated with magnets Souvenirs of all my visits London, Madrid, Bahamas, Coco Cay, Barcelona. And the Leaning Tower of Pisa How can I forget the Spanish Steps in Rome? Stratford upon Avon, where Shakespeare was born. CN Tower in Toronto so very high I thought the elevator would take me to the sky. Then there was El Poble and Toledo Noted for Spanish Gold We travelled on the Euro star. The scenery was beautiful to behold! I must not omit Cartagena in Columbia, Anaheim, Las Vegas, and Catalina, Key West, Tampa, Fort Lauderdale, and Pembroke Pines, Places I love to lime. Of course, I would like to make special mention, Of two exciting cruises with Royal Caribbean. Majesty of the Seas and Liberty of the Seas Two ships which grace the Seas. Last but not least and best of all We visited Paris in the fall. Cologne, Dusseldorf, and Berlin Amazing places, which made my head, spin. Copyright@BrendaMohammed

I’ve had sex before if that’s what you’re asking, but I’ve never loved anyone else, other than you.” “What made you fall in love with me?” I remembered the day so clearly in my head. “It was when we were on our way to The Bahamas. It was our second night on the cruise and there was this little girl, I think she may have been about five or six and she was lost.” “Lucy,” Sasha blurted. “I remember her.” “Anyway, the way she looked at you and the way you looked at her. She was crying but somehow you managed to calm her down. You made her laugh with your terrible jokes and her jokes were just as bad, but you laughed anyway,” I reminisced. “You smiled and God, it was the most beautiful thing I’d ever seen. I knew right then.” “You weren’t working at the time,” she said. “You were a guest. So, you’ve loved me for two years?” “Yes.” “And you found a job on the cruise to watch me?” “Stalk you,” I joked. Sort of. Sasha looked over her shoulder at me. “Do you regret it?” “The last two years have been the best of my life,” I confessed and wrapped my arms tight around her. “Do I regret it? No. I could never regret it.

Castro’s revolution, with all of its supposedly good intentions, put a stop to the growth of Havana. Of course it put an end to the Mafia controlling the casinos and entertainment, but for them it was a minor setback. They just packed their bags and went to Las Vegas where they expanded and developed “The Strip!” Batista and his followers fled Cuba for the Dominican Republic, Europe and South Florida. Many Cubans lost everything they had but others fled taking their wealth with them. The upheaval in 1959 marked the beginning of austerity for this former freewheeling city. The communistic de-privatization of all businesses, along with the embargo imposed by the United States, created a serious decline in Havana’s economy. The constant pressure to nationalize, as well as the severe crackdown by the régime to keep people in line, curtailed growth and placed an enormous hardship on the Cuban people. Since the Castro Revolution, the people of Havana have been severely affected, because of the absence of commerce with its former trading partner, the United States, located only 90 miles to the north. In all Havana has taken a severe toll economically, with its dilapidated houses, and the pre-1959 cars on the streets of the city being a testimony to the bygone era. It is only now that with the hope of normalization between the governments of Cuba and the United States that perhaps the people will benefit. For the greatest part, the Port of Havana has also been bypassed, chiefly due to the restrictions placed on them by the United States. However, the Cuban government is now attempting a comeback by attracting tourism from Canada, Mexico, the Bahamas, Latin America, Asia and Europe. The city of Havana has renovated the Sierra Maestra Cruise Port, but only very few cruise companies consider Havana a port of call. Slowly, German and British ships started to arrive, including the Fred Olsen Cruises and Carnival Cruise Line. Technically Real Estate Brokers and Automobile Dealers are illegal in Cuba, although real-estate offices and car dealerships are blatantly open for business. The buying and selling of real estate and cars, which was forbidden for many years, can now be done because of some changes brought about by Raúl Castro, but only by full-time residents of Cuba. However, gray market sales are thriving through the use of friends and family as proxies.

Sir, was there a reason you called?” “Wild Bill Boggs? Know him?” “First term congressman from Texas? Running for president?” Anna felt her stomach tighten. “What about him?” “Dated once, didn’t you?” “I wouldn’t call it a date. We were on the same cruise ship. He had a state-room overlooking the pool. I slept in a bunk above the engine room. He probably wouldn’t remember me.” “Oh, he remembers you, all right. Called to ask if you were available for a little undercover work. His words, not mine. He’s got another of his fund-raising junkets planned for this weekend in the Bahamas.” “You want me to babysit Boggs?” “When you put it that way…yes. That’s exactly what I want you to do.

If you’re ready to sail with Princess but aren’t sure where to start, you’re not alone. Call Us +1-844-807-7245 Many first-time cruisers feel overwhelmed by choices: destinations, dates, cabins, fares, and extras. The good news is that learning how to book a Princess cruise can be simple when you follow a clear, step-by-step approach. Whether you prefer cruise booking online, working with a Princess travel agent, or calling the cruise line directly, the basic process is similar: decide where and when you want to travel, set a budget, compare offers, then secure your Princess reservations with a deposit. Step 1: Choose your destination and travel dates The first decision when you book Princess cruise vacations is where you want to go and when. Princess offers itineraries all over the world, including: Caribbean and Bahamas Alaska and Inside Passage Europe and Mediterranean Asia, Australia and New Zealand South America, Panama Canal and world cruises Think about: Season and weather – Are you looking for sunshine and beaches, or cooler scenic routes like Alaska? School holidays and work schedules – If you’re traveling with family, you may need to work around school breaks or peak vacation periods. Length of cruise – Short getaways (3–5 nights) or longer voyages (7–14+ nights). Once you have a rough idea of destination and timing, you can start hunting for Princess cruise deals that fit your calendar and budget. Step 2: Set your budget and expectations Before you get too deep into options, decide how much you want to spend. Your total cruise budget should consider: Base cruise fare Taxes, fees and port charges Gratuities/service charges Airfare to/from the departure port Pre- or post-cruise hotels Onboard spending: drinks, specialty dining, spa, excursions, photos, Wi-Fi Having a realistic budget makes it easier to compare offers and understand what is included. Some promotions bundle things like drinks, Wi-Fi and gratuities in one package. For others, the base fare may be lower but onboard extras cost more. Knowing what you’re comfortable spending helps you choose the best way to book a Princess cruise deal for your needs. Step 3: Decide how you want to book You have three main options for Princess reservations: 1. Cruise booking online through the official site If you like doing your own research, cruise booking online directly with Princess is straightforward: Browse destinations and dates. Filter by departure port, number of nights, ship, or price range. View cabin categories, deck plans and pricing. Secure your booking by paying a deposit with a credit or debit card. This is usually the fastest way to book a Princess cruise if you’re comfortable making decisions yourself and don’t need personalized advice. 2. Booking Princess Cruises through a travel agent If you prefer guidance, booking Princess Cruises through a travel agent can be a smart choice, especially for first-timers or complex trips. A good Princess travel agent can: Recommend itineraries that match your interests and budget. Watch for price drops and promotions. Help you choose the right cabin location. Assist with flights, hotels and travel insurance. Support you if you need to change or cancel your trip later. You’ll typically pay the same cruise fare as booking directly, and sometimes agents have access to extra perks like onboard credit or group deals. 3. Calling the cruise line or a phone-based agency Some travelers feel more comfortable finalizing Princess reservations by phone: You can ask questions in real time. An agent can walk you through cabin options and promotions. It’s helpful if you have special requests or accessibility needs. Pick the method that matches your comfort level and how much support you want.

How Do I Check In for a Margaritaville Cruise? Checking in for a Margaritaville cruise is the first step toward turning your dream of sailing into a reality. Call help +1-844-807-7245. Whether you’re heading out on a weekend getaway to the Bahamas or an extended Caribbean adventure, knowing the Margaritaville embarkation check-in process ensures your trip starts smoothly. This detailed guide explains how to check in for a Margaritaville at Sea cruise, what documents you’ll need, when to arrive, and how to prepare for embarkation. Understanding the Margaritaville Cruise Check-In Process The Margaritaville cruise check-in process is designed to make your boarding experience efficient and stress-free. Before you arrive at the cruise terminal, you’ll need to complete several steps online. The cruise line typically opens online check-in several days before your sailing date, allowing you to enter your travel details, confirm identification, and select your embarkation window—the specific time you’ll arrive at the port to board the ship. By completing your online cruise boarding process, you’ll generate your Margaritaville cruise boarding pass and luggage tags. These are essential documents that speed up your entry at the terminal and help ensure your bags reach your cabin promptly. Step-by-Step Margaritaville Cruise Check-In Instructions To ensure a seamless start to your vacation, follow these check-in instructions carefully: Step 1: Log in to Your Margaritaville Account Visit the Margaritaville at Sea website and access your booking. You’ll find a “Check-In” section, which becomes available once the cruise line opens the check-in period. This is when you’ll confirm passenger details, emergency contacts, and travel information. Step 2: Provide Required Documents You’ll need to upload or present the following: Government-issued photo ID (driver’s license or passport) Proof of citizenship (passport or birth certificate) COVID-19 or vaccination documents (if required at the time of sailing) Step 3: Choose Your Embarkation Window Selecting your cruise terminal check-in time is crucial. This window controls the flow of passengers arriving at the port, reducing lines and ensuring a smooth boarding experience. Arriving too early or too late can delay your embarkation. Step 4: Review and Confirm Your Details Check your information carefully. Once confirmed, the system will generate your boarding pass cruise document and luggage tags. Print them or save them digitally. Step 5: Pack Accordingly Your cruise documents should be easily accessible in your carry-on bag. Also, pack essentials such as medications, travel documents, and valuables separately in case your checked luggage arrives later than you do.
