Willow gazed up at him, her silly grin still in place. "You know wha'? You're kinda cute when you crook your eyebrows down like tha'."
Rider muttered a curse, lifted her off the floor, and tossed her over his shoulder. "Juan, you and Hicks help Mrs. Brigham to her room. I'll take care of this little hellion."
Willow lifted her head from where she dangled over Rider's shoulder. "See yuh later, Mrs. B."
Miriam smiled and waved.
"i think Mrs. B is pickled," Rider's passenger said in a loud whisper as he hauled her out the door.
"No thanks to you, hellion," he growled, and smacked her bottom.
"Ow!"
As he carried Willow into the house, Rider was hard pressed to quell a sudden urge to laugh. In her bedroom, he unceremoniously dumped her on her bed, but when he turned to leave, her pitiful sounding voice halted his exit. "Rider, come here a min-it."
"Oh,hell, I suppose you're going to be sick." Grabbing a basin off her dresser, he shoved it under her chin. "It serves you right, you know." He watched nervously as she knocked the bowl aside.
"Dun...don't be mad." She held her arms out to him. "Come closer. Gimme a kiss and we'll make up. I like your kisses so-o-o-o much."
This time Rider couldn't stall his grin and inadvertently leaned closer.
She was on him like a duck on a June bug. With two hearty handfuls of his shirt, she yanked him down on top of her and plastered her mouth against his.
Talking against his lips, the tipsy girl had the audacity to complain, "Not like this. Do it like before. You know, with your tongue."
Rider squeezed his eyes shut and groaned. This isn't fair, he bemoaned silently. He tried to rise but Willow held tight, squirming her voluptuous little body against his. Sweat broke out on his forehead. If he didn't put a stop to this soon...He lifted his mouth from hers. "If I promise to kiss you with my tongue, will you let go of me and go to sleep?"
"Uh-huh." Willow's eyes drooped, but the affect appeared more seductive than drunken.
Lifting her shoulders slightly off the bed, he wound his arms around her and covered her mouth with his. His tongue explored hers in a long, liquid kiss, tasting of wine and desire. Rider savored its promise, wishing just this once, he could be less a gentleman.
Willow wrapped one of her legs over his and shifted her hips, innocently aligning his swelling heat with hers. He started and bolted off the bed. "Holy hell! You did it again!"
"What?" Her voice was sluggish and sleepy now.
Disgusted with himself, Rider stomped to the door. "Sleep it off, Freckles."
Outside Willow's door, Rider slumped against the wall and shook his head. Willow Vaughn was a constant surprise, and he loved the girl so bad it hurt.

What were you looking for over here?” Jim asked again.
“I wonder if you can exorcise hands…hmm? Oh, where on the wall was that place I sent you through before. Do you remember?”
Jim shook its head. “Why are you looking for that particular spot? It have fond memories for you or something?”
“Hardly. You told me that it was easier to tear the fabric of existence in a spot where it had previously been rent. And I know I sent you through it from this room, but I don’t remember where, exactly.” I glanced at the clock on the mantel, leaping to my feet when I saw the time. “Oh my god. Oh my god! “That clock isn’t right.”
Relief made me sag a bit as I dug through my purse looking for my cell phone. “Thank god. I was worried there for a minute that I’d missed the wedding.”
“You have,” Jim said complacently, snuffling around behind the fainting couch.
“What? You just told me the clock was wrong!”
“Yuh-uh. And who ordered me to tell her that?”
“Gah!” I screamed, punching a speed-dial number into the phone. “Talk about your day from hell…Jim, look around and find the weak spot. I’m not going to let something like a deranged Guardian ruin my day.”
“Sooo many things I could say to that,” Jim said, shaking its head. “I’ll confine myself to pointing out that even if I found the spot, it wouldn’t do you any good.”

Inside my head, a dark, sinuous voice whistled a peppy little tune.
I ground my teeth. “Don’t tell me—I’d have to use the dark power in order to push us through.”

There is a marked difference between brilliance and intellectuality.
Some of us use both words interchangeably to describe people who can use big words.
A number of people are grandiloquent but not wise.
A person can be verbose but not esoteric.
Just as literacy does not equate to intelligence.
There are two types of learnt people in the world.
Some persons are scholars and others are alchemist.
Let me further my thesis on intellectuals.
Now you have a scholar and an alchemist.
The scholar passes exams, memorizes words and phrases, the alchemist has the intellectual prowess to start a whole new fundamental truth, discipline and school of thought because they can create concepts from their own minds without no external inputs.
Alchemist pass exams without studying because they just know how things work or they use context clue.
For that reason not every smart person is a genius.
Alchemist use their brains to change or improve the world with ingenuity and originality.
The alchemist has a way with words, when they speak you stop and listen. The alchemist is witty in any language (Creole or patois).
Let’s renounce the colonial concept that using Anglo-Saxon words is a mark of intelligence.

When we got there, Calista and Loga were getting out of Calista's car, and it was like, Whoa, because they were wearing all torn-up clothes. They were walking normal but they looked like they'd been burned up and hit with stuff.
I ran over to them. I was going, 'Holy shit! Are you okay? What happened?' and Violet, too, she was going, "Hey--are you okay?'
They stood there and looked at us, then looked at each other, like 'Ohmigod! Someone is a poopiehead!
'Yuh,' said Loga. 'It's Riot Gear. It's retro. It's beat up to look like one of the big twentieth-century riots. It's been big since earlier this week.'
I was like, 'Oh.'
Violet was like, 'Sorry.'
'No wrong,' said Calista, flipping her hair.
When we went inside, Marty and Quendy were also wearing Riot Gear. Everyone was going Hi! Hey! Hey! Hi! Unit! What's doing?
'Hey!' said Loga to Quendy, pointing, 'Kent State collection, right? Great skirt!

Warden’s patties be like . . .
That last tweet had a bunch of replies. Someone had used the same meme but crossed out “Warden” and put “Islington,” and that correction got a “yuh dun kno” and a “nah” and an “EEDIAT TING DIS. THEY’RE ALL THE SAME PATTIES.” Another user crossed out both “Warden” and “Islington” and put “Wilson,” and someone else wrote, “Just sleepin on Downsview patties. Disrespectful.

CHRISTMAS IN BARBADOS
I miss being in Barbados in December,
That is a time I always remember.
The smell of varnish on the wooden floors
and the smell of paint on the wooden doors.
The smell of cloves as the ham was baked
and the smell of the rum, in my mudda fruit cakes.
The smell of coconut as she baked de sweetbread
and the smell of the cloth as she made up de bed.
The sounds of "Moussa" as he played "Nat King Cole"
The sounds of "Lassie" as he played…"Coming in from de cold".
The hustling and the bustling of the Bajans buying Christmas gifts,
The sights of Taxis, giving Bajan Yankees a lift.
The barrels on top of the lorries and the vans,
The cases of sweet drinks and the baking pans
The young people in town buying a new Christmas dress,
The smell of hair that yuh mudda just press.
The crowds in de Supermarket buying up the rum,
And the music blasting, “Puh Rup a Pum Pum”.
I am usually glad when de New Year begins,.
A month later, "Courts and Manning come back fuh the things.

The grisaille (gree-zah-yuh) is like painting a black and white picture of the scene. In fact, if you have your smart phone available, take a photo and, in the photo app, you can quickly remove the color to get a black and white version of the scene. This is not a bad practice because it gives you a quick look at the values. Still you need to determine the values for yourself. You need to know how to determine values by using some kind of value scale. Start by squeezing a pile of white paint at the top of your palette and a pile of black paint (mixture of burnt umber and blue, or premixed black) at the bottom. Between the white and the black, mix up at least three values of gray, ranging in value from white to black.

Dünya sahnesine alkışlar içinde çıkıp yuh sesleri altında o sahneden inmek politika dünyasında neredeyse bir kuraldır! Bunun en büyük sebebi, milletlerin teveccühlerini hitabet sanatını çok iyi bilen fakat zihnen pek gelişmemiş politikacılara oy vermeleridir!
