The Ultimate Guide To SEO In The 21st Century Search engine optimization is a complex and ever changing method of getting your business the exposure that you need to make sales and to build a solid reputation on line. To many people, the algorithms involved in SEO are cryptic, but the basic principle behind them is impossible to ignore if you are doing any kind of business on the internet. This article will help you solve the SEO puzzle and guide you through it, with some very practical advice! To increase your website or blog traffic, post it in one place (e.g. to your blog or site), then work your social networking sites to build visibility and backlinks to where your content is posted. Facebook, Twitter, Digg and other news feeds are great tools to use that will significantly raise the profile of your pages. An important part of starting a new business in today's highly technological world is creating a professional website, and ensuring that potential customers can easily find it is increased with the aid of effective search optimization techniques. Using relevant keywords in your URL makes it easier for people to search for your business and to remember the URL. A title tag for each page on your site informs both search engines and customers of the subject of the page while a meta description tag allows you to include a brief description of the page that may show up on web search results. A site map helps customers navigate your website, but you should also create a separate XML Sitemap file to help search engines find your pages. While these are just a few of the basic recommendations to get you started, there are many more techniques you can employ to drive customers to your website instead of driving them away with irrelevant search results. One sure way to increase traffic to your website, is to check the traffic statistics for the most popular search engine keywords that are currently bringing visitors to your site. Use those search words as subjects for your next few posts, as they represent trending topics with proven interest to your visitors. Ask for help, or better yet, search for it. There are hundreds of websites available that offer innovative expertise on optimizing your search engine hits. Take advantage of them! Research the best and most current methods to keep your site running smoothly and to learn how not to get caught up in tricks that don't really work. For the most optimal search engine optimization, stay away from Flash websites. While Google has improved its ability to read text within Flash files, it is still an imperfect science. For instance, any text that is part of an image file in your Flash website will not be read by Google or indexed. For the best SEO results, stick with HTML or HTML5. You have probably read a few ideas in this article that you would have never thought of, in your approach to search engine optimization. That is the nature of the business, full of tips and tricks that you either learn the hard way or from others who have been there and are willing to share! Hopefully, this article has shown you how to succeed, while making fewer of those mistakes and in turn, quickened your path to achievement in search engine optimization!

The Library of Congress, with other partners, continues to work on a new bibliographic framework (BIBFRAME). This framework will be an open-storage format based on newer technology, such as XML. A framework is merely a holder of content, and a more open framework will allow for easier access to stored metadata. While resource description and access (RDA) is a movement to rewrite cataloging rules, BIBFRAME is a movement to develop a new storage medium. The new storage framework may still use RDA as a means of describing content metadata, but it will move storage away from MARC to a new format based on standardized non-library technology. This new framework will encompass several important characteristics. It will transition storage of library metadata to an open format that is accessible for use by external systems, using standard technology employed outside of libraries. This will allow for libraries to share metadata with each other and with the rest of the Semantic Web. The new framework will also allow for the storage of both old and new metadata formats so that libraries may move forward without reworking existing records. Finally, the new framework will make use of formal metadata structure, as the benefit of named metadata fields has more power for search and discovery than the simple keyword searching employed by much of the Internet. Library metadata will become more important once its organized fields of information can be accessed by any standard non-library system. Embracing a new storage format for bibliographic metadata is much like adoption of a new computer storage format, such as moving your data storage from CD-ROM to an external USB hard drive; the metadata that libraries have created for decades will not be lost but will be converted to a new, more accessible, storage format, sustaining access to the information. Although these benefits may be seen by some, it can be expected that there may be resistance to changes in format as well. It will be no small undertaking to define how libraries will move forward and to then provide means for libraries to transition to new formats. Whatever transitions may be adopted, it will be important that libraries not abandon a structured metadata entry form in lieu of complete keyword formatting.

In fact, the biggest misconception is that you can call your API RESTful if its delivering XML or JSON over HTTP. And that misconception and the resulting proliferation of horrible APIs is likely the source of RESTafarian irritation with the application of the term โ€œRESTfulโ€ in an API context. But letโ€™s be brutally honest. Most interactive systems donโ€™t follow this model either.

Section One Summary Hereโ€™s what you should take away from this section about on-page optimization: ๏ƒผย ย ย ย ย ย ย  On-page optimization is what you do on your website to influence SERPs on Google. ๏ƒผย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Doing proper keyword research is the first step to a successful SEO campaign. ๏ƒผย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Having proper meta tags is essential. Always include your keyword phrase(s) in your meta tags. ๏ƒผย ย ย ย ย ย ย  The proper meta tags include your title tag, description tag, keywords tag, and robots tag. ๏ƒผย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Choose your URL carefully. Your URL doesnโ€™t have to have your keyword included but it helps when other sites link to your site. Avoid exact match domains. ๏ƒผย ย ย ย ย ย ย  How you format your page is important for optimization purposes. ๏ƒผย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Make sure you design your web pages so Google is forced to read your on-page content first. ๏ƒผย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Verify that your code is W3C compliant. ๏ƒผย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Donโ€™t forget to include your keyword phrase(s) in , , and header tags. This signifies the importance of your content to Google. ๏ƒผย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Label each graphic with an alt tag that includes your keyword phrase. ๏ƒผย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Place your keyword(s) in the first twenty-five words on your web page and the last twenty-five words on your web page. ๏ƒผย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Eliminate Flash if itโ€™s the main presentation of your website. Google does not view this favorably. ๏ƒผย ย ย ย ย ย ย  If youโ€™re going to use JavaScript to enhance the overall visitor experience of your website, place the code in an external file. ๏ƒผย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Include a sitemap thatโ€™s easily accessible by Google. Submit an XML version of your sitemap through Google Webmaster Tools. ๏ƒผย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Never underestimate the power of internal linking. A good internal linking structure can improve your SERPs. ๏ƒผย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Keyword development is one of the most important on-page optimization strategies. ๏ƒผย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Research keywords and competing websites to select ideal keywords. ๏ƒผย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Research the strength of competing websites before selecting your final keywords using Google PR and authority (ex: number of inbound links). ๏ƒผย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Page load speed is a significant factor in Google rankings. Software can have serious bugs and still be wildly successful. Lotus 1-2-3 famously mistook 1900 for a leap year, but it was so popular that versions of Excel to this day have to be programmed to honor that mistake to ensure backward compatibility. And because Excelโ€™s popularity ultimately dwarfed that of Lotus 1-2-3, the bug is now part of the ECMA Office Open XML specification.

Web Application Development In this modern world of computer technology all people are using internet. In particular, to take advantage of this scenario the web provides a way for marketers to get to know the people visiting their sites and start communicating with them. One way of doing this is asking web visitors to subscribe to newsletters, to submit an application form when requesting information on products or provide details to customize their browsing experience when next visiting a particular website. In computing, a web application is a clientโ€“server software application in which the client runs in a web browser. HTML5 introduced explicit language support for making applications that are loaded as web pages, but can store data locally and continue to function while offline. Web Applications are dynamic web sites combined with server side programming which provide functionalities such as interacting with users, connecting to back-end databases, and generating results to browsers. Examples of Web Applications are Online Banking, Social Networking, Online Reservations, eCommerce / Shopping Cart Applications, Interactive Games, Online Training, Online Polls, Blogs, Online Forums, Content Management Systems, etc.. Applications are usually broken into logical chunks called โ€œtiersโ€, where every tier is assigned a role. Traditional applications consist only of 1 tier, which resides on the client machine, but web applications lend themselves to an n-tiered approach by nature. Though many variations are possible, the most common structure is the three-tiered application. In its most common form, the three tiers are called presentation, application and storage, in this order. A web browser is the first tier (presentation), an engine using some dynamic Web content technology (such as ASP, CGI, ColdFusion, Dart, JSP/Java, Node.js, PHP, Python or Ruby on Rails) is the middle tier (application logic), and a database is the third tier (storage). The web browser sends requests to the middle tier, which services them by making queries and updates against the database and generates a user interface. Client Side Scripting / Coding โ€“ Client Side Scripting is the type of code that is executed or interpreted by browsers. Client Side Scripting is generally viewable by any visitor to a site (from the view menu click on โ€œView Sourceโ€ to view the source code). Below are some common Client Side Scripting technologies: HTML (HyperTextMarkup Language) CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) JavaScript Ajax (Asynchronous JavaScript and XML) jQuery (JavaScript Framework Library โ€“ commonly used in Ajax development) MooTools (JavaScript Framework Library โ€“ commonly used in Ajax development) Dojo Toolkit (JavaScript Framework Library โ€“ commonly used in Ajax development) Server Side Scripting / Coding โ€“ Server Side Scripting is the type of code that is executed or interpreted by the web server. Server Side Scripting is not viewable or accessible by any visitor or general public. Below are the common Server Side Scripting technologies: PHP (very common Server Side Scripting language โ€“ Linux / Unix based Open Source โ€“ free redistribution, usually combines with MySQL database) Zend Framework (PHPโ€™s Object Oriented Web Application Framework) ASP (Microsoft Web Server (IIS) Scripting language) ASP.NET (Microsoftโ€™s Web Application Framework โ€“ successor of ASP) ColdFusion (Adobeโ€™s Web Application Framework) Ruby on Rails (Ruby programmingโ€™s Web Application Framework โ€“ free redistribution) Perl (general purpose high-level programming language and Server Side Scripting Language โ€“ free redistribution โ€“ lost its popularity to PHP) Python (general purpose high-level programming language and Server Side Scripting language โ€“ free redistribution). The moment I regained my sight I communicated my frustrations to some members of the Lisp sect. Almost immediately I was bombarded by a standard set of responses: Lisp's parentheses are only a superficial matter, Lisp has a huge benefit of code and data being expressed in the same manner (which, obviously, is a huge improvement over XML), Lisp has tremendously powerful metaprogramming facilities that allow programs to write code and modify themselves, Lisp allows for creation of mini-languages specific to the problem at hand, Lisp blurs the distinction between run time and compile time, Lisp, Lisp, Lisp... The list was very impressive. Needless to say none of it made sense.

How can we represent 'copy' example above in Java code? Here's one way to do it: CopyTask copy = new CopyTask(); Fileset fileset = new Fileset(); fileset.setDir("src_dir"); copy.setToDir("../new/dir"); copy.setFileset(fileset); copy.execute(); The code is almost the same, albeit a little longer than the original XML. So what's different? The answer is that the XML snippet introduces a special semantic construct for copying. If we could do it in Java it would look like this: copy("../new/dir") { fileset("src_dir"); } Can you see the difference? The code above (if it were possible in Java) is a special operator for copying files - similar to a for loop or a new foreach construct introduced in Java 5.
