We are trapped in an unending whirlpool of consumerism – how many advertisements have you seen recently for cars, gadgets, and fast foods nobody truly needs? Yet this treadmill of purchasing, devouring, and wanting more anchors our entire existence. The one and only reason we don’t simply ditch the whole exercise is that it stops us, in a limited way, from feeling bored with life. If you can muster the strength needed to step off this carousel existence and embrace the void of boredom, you will begin to discover that inaction is a forgotten art and silence is a marvellous place. It is where everything exists and undreamt-of wonders dwell. As you begin to enter more deeply into this tranquil way of being, you will learn to look upon your previous life as a foolish game and feel pity for everyone who is still addicted to it.
