Thanksgiving 2024 Quotes

Over these next months, I have several prayer requests I’m planning to commit to Jesus. Just like those tulips are designed to respond to being planted, when I plant my prayers with Jesus, I can trust that He will deliver an answer. His answer may sometimes be no, and sometimes it may be wait, and sometimes it may be a different color or variety than I expected.

O St. Joseph, whose protection is so great, so strong, so prompt before the throne of God, I place in thee all my interests and desires. O St. Joseph, do assist me by thy powerful intercession and obtain for me from thy Divine Son all spiritual blessings, through Jesus Christ, Our Lord; so that, having engaged here below thy heavenly power, I may offer my thanksgiving and homage to the most loving of Fathers. O St. Joseph, I never weary contemplating thee and Jesus asleep in thy arms. I dare not approach while He reposes near thy heart. Jesus has given each season of our lives its own joys and struggles. He doesn’t want us clinging to seasons past, longing for the way things used to be. He has grace and peace for the moment we are living right now. He has new hopes and truth for this day and this day alone. We don’t want to miss out on today’s beauty. We need to soak it up. Revel in it. Sing and dance. And embrace the season we are living out with gratitude.

Unlike me, Jesus doesn’t abandon His work for months at a time. He works in our lives constantly. He begins a good work and, piece by piece, creates new purpose, new means of service, and conforms us to the pattern He envisions. He never gives up on us.

But thanks to God’s Word, we can know some things with certainty. Our trials and sufferings—and waiting—will produce a harvest of righteousness in our hearts and lives. And one day, Jesus will return to the earth to eradicate evil and put things right. These promises are what help us persevere, no matter what field we work in.
