Same with writers. Like, after all, recognizes like.

Discipline and Rebellion are like night and day. One can’t exist without the other and in that there is equilibrium. Rebellion is natural and you will do it, to whatever scale, at some point, that much is given. What really sets successful people apart from the rest is the response to discipline. At this age, you need to understand that whatever discipline you may receive is a limit. Simply a line in the sand, but the beach is still open.

Youth truly is a gift and a good gift, for that matter. And like any good gift that you receive, you want to use it and not stick it in the back of your closet, maybe never coming back to it. Something I’ve noticed in myself and many other people around my age is that we are procrastinators. We have this mentality of “I’ll do it tomorrow’ never truly comprehending just how short our time is as young people who have an insane amount of energy, stamina, and ability to grow and learn and prosper. Once we comprehend that if we have the opportunity to do something (big or small) today, we should take advantage of that opportunity and do it to the best of our ability and not spend the rest of our lives wondering what could’ve been.

Those boys have sniffed out your growing insecurity and have pounced on it. It’s the nineties! Those boys—victims of the backlash themselves—are becoming more aware by the day that girls are a commodity, like livestock, to be traded with other boys, and that your value is in a period of deflation.

Some things defy explanation. Maybe you’re one of them.
