Failure to put the relationship on a slower timetable may result in an act that was never intended in the first place. Another important principle is to avoid the circumstances where compromise is likely. A girl who wants to preserve her virginity should not find herself in a house or dorm room alone with someone to whom she is attracted. Nor should she single-date with someone she has reason not to trust. A guy who wants to be moral should stay away from the girl he knows would go to bed with him. Remember the words of Solomon to his son, “Keep to a path far from her, do not go near the door of her house” (Proverbs 5:8). I know this advice sounds very narrow in a day when virginity is mocked and chastity is considered old-fashioned. But I don’t apologize for it. The Scriptures are eternal, and God’s standards of right and wrong do not change with the whims of culture. He will honor and help those who are trying to follow His commandments. In fact, the apostle Paul said, “He will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear” (1Corinthians 10:13). Hold that promise and continue to use your head. You’ll be glad you did.

Self-reliance is an America virtue but not a biblical value. Solomon wrote, "The way of fools seems right to them, but the wise listen to advice." Since intelligence is primarily defined as one's capacity to grasp the truth of things, it follows that what a culture means by intelligence is derived from the character of its important forms of communication. In a purely oral culture, intelligence is often associated with aphoristic ingenuity, that is, the power to invent compact sayings of wide applicability. the wise Solomon, we are told in First Kings, knew three thousand proverbs. In a print culture, people with such a talent are thought to be quaint at best, more likely pompous bores. In a purely oral culture, a high value is always placed on the power to memorize, for where there are no written words, the human mind must function as a mobile library. To forget how something is to be said or done is a danger to the community and a' gross form of stupidity. In a print culture, the memorization of a poem, a menu, a law or most anything else is merely charming. It is almost always functionally irrelevant and certainly not considered a sign of high intelligence.

The Wisdom tradition had originally little connection with Moses and Sinai but was associated with King Solomon, who had a reputation for this type of acumen16 and three of the Kethuvim were attributed to him: Proverbs, Ecclesiastes and the Song of Songs. Proverbs was a collection of common-sense aphorisms, similar to the two quoted above. Ecclesiastes, a flagrantly cynical meditation, saw all things as ‘vanity’, and appeared to undermine the entire Torah tradition, while the Song of Songs was an erotic poem with no apparent spiritual content.

Bible Passage: Proverbs 27:1-3 "Boast not thyself of to morrow; for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth. Let another man praise thee, and not thine own mouth; a stranger, and not thine own lips. A stone is heavy, and the sand weighty; but a fool's wrath is heavier than them both." ------------------------------------------------ People many times are inclined to boast about what they will or will not do and even to boast about when they will or will not do it. But Solomon had warned about falling into that trap. The simple fact as he pointed out is that no one knows for certain any part of the future. One moment before having a devastating medical emergency, the individual that will have it probably has no clue about what will soon happen. Similarly a serious automobile accident or some other kind of serious accident might be just a few moments away. But the person or people that will suffer through that experience do not have any idea about that either. As everyone knows, the unknown is simply a very big part of this life.

This title is a Hebrew word meaning “collector” or “assembler,” and while the Protestant Reformers used the term “preacher” to translate this title, it more likely refers to this individual as a “collector” of proverbs (Crenshaw, 1992, 271). At the outset of the book (1:12-2:26) this individual engages in a royal experiment, the background of which is clearly intended to be that of Solomon. Sounds Is Love of All, the World
Sounds create soulful existence,
When the oceans tide, it is sound;
When fervency of love creates sympathy of sobbing, sighing, jubilating, and tears drops, it’s a hymn of sound and presence.
When rains, it creates symphonies that therapeutic the body and mind, it is sound.
There is sound.
When sharing a glass of wine while looking at your significant other swallow its taste,
There is sound.
When night becomes morning, noise of the birds tweak, the dogs bark, pancakes sizzling on the pan, bees gathering for honey, it is sound.
There is sound.
When listening to music for a moodily Spirit, moving rhythmically to the music, it is sound.
When coitus makes quakes, it is sound.
In durations of lovemaking; the breathing, the objects banging, the thrusting, and the instrumental tones from the mouth, the kisses, the clapping and rubbing of flesh, it all surrounds the atmosphere, it is sound.
There is sound.
When love cuddles in your significant other sleeps, and hear breathing, heart beats, maneuvering, it is sound.
There is sound.
During intensity of love at its silence and loudest, there is sound.
As penetration of love goes deep and pulls out a sound of intensity opens and reactions follow, it is sound.
There is sound.
Beauty is the penetrating sound of the verses, the Psalms, the Proverbs, the Song of Solomon, the Gospels, and overall the Holy Scriptures spoken from a fervent tongue, power of thought, and sensible recovery from what aches, in all its sound.
Sound surrounds all ways.
It is sound.
Sound is therapy to the love and Spirit, a sound mind, in all, the world is sound.

Proverb by Solomon from the Bible.
“
What science is showing us today is what God told us through Solomon almost three thousand years ago: “For as he thinks in his heart, so is he” (Proverbs 23:7 NKJV). So if both the Bible and modern science teach us that our lives are moving in the direction of our strongest thoughts, then we need to make time for introspection and ask ourselves, “Do I like the direction my thoughts are taking me?

Davy Crockett said:
"This thing remember, when I am dead: Be sure you are right, then go ahead."
It is this go-aheaditiveness, this determination not to let the "horrors" or the "blues" take possession of you, so as to make you relax your energies in the struggle for independence, which you must cultivate.
How many have almost reached the goal of their ambition, but, losing faith in themselves, have relaxed their energies, and the golden prize has been lost forever.
It is, no doubt, often true, as Shakespeare says:
"There is a tide in the affairs of men, Which, taken at the flood, leads on to fortune."
If you hesitate, some bolder hand will stretch out before you and get the prize. Remember the proverb of Solomon: "He becometh poor that dealeth with a slack hand; but the hand of the diligent maketh rich."
Perseverance is sometimes but another word for self-reliance. Many persons naturally look on the dark side of life, and borrow trouble. They are born so. Then they ask for advice, and they will be governed by one wind and blown by another, and cannot rely upon themselves. Until you can get so that you can rely upon yourself, you need not expect to succeed.

Think of the wisest man that ever lived--I mean Solomon. See how he speaks of himself as a "little child," as one who "does not know how to carry out his duties" or manage for himself (1 Kings 3:7). That was a very different spirit from his brother Absalom's, who thought himself equal to anything: "If only I were appointed judge in the land! Then everyone who has a complaint or case could come to me and I would see that he gets justice" (2 Samuel 15:4). That was a very different spirit from his brother Adonijah's, who "exalted himself, saying, I will be king" (1 Kings 1:5). Humility was the beginning of Solomon's wisdom. He writes it down as his own experience, "Do you see a man wise in his own eyes? There is more hope for a fool than for him" (Proverbs 26:12).

But let us read the words of one, who was no mean scientist, the words of one whose wisdom was the wonder of his day in the whole world. A man to whom God Himself said, “Lo, I have given thee a wise and an understanding heart; so that there was none like thee before thee, neither after thee shall any arise like unto thee.” I Kings 3.12. A man of whom the inspired word of God says, “He was wiser than all men; and his fame was in all nations round about. And he spake three thousand proverbs: and his songs were a thousand and five. And he spake of threes, from the cedar tree that is in Lebanon even unto the hyssop that springeth out of the wall: he spake also of beasts, and of fowl, and of creeping things, and of fishes. And there came of all people to hear the Wisdom of Solomon, from all kings of the earth, which had heard of his wisdom.” I Kings 4.31-34 In His proverbs he speaks much of the wonderful works of God, and in one of them he refers directly to the work that was done on the second day of creation week, and connects it with the word of God by which it was accomplished. Thus, “Who hath ascended up into heaven or descended? Who hath fathered the wind in his fists? Who hath bound the waters in garment? Who hath established all the ends of the earth? What is His name, and what is His Son’s name, if thou canst tell? Every word of God is pure: He is a shield unto them that put their trust in him. Add thou not unto His word, lest He reprove thee, and thou be found a liar.” Proverbs 30.4-6 The rain which God has bound up in His thick clouds, and which His voice - the same voice that speaks peace and righteousness - causes to fall upon the earth, is a pledge to us of God’s willingness to forgive. Listen to the holy boldness of the prophet Jeremiah: “We acknowledge, O Lord, our wickedness, and the iniquity of our fathers: for we have sinned against Thee. Do not abhor us, for Thy name’s sake, do not disgrace the throne of Thy glory: remember; break not thy covenant with us. Are there any among the vanities of the Gentiles that can cause rain? Or can the heavens give showers? Art not Thou He, O Lord our God? Therefore we will wait upon Thee: for Thou hast made all these things.” Jeremiah 14.20-22. The Lord is the One who causes rain; therefore we will wait upon Him, in confidence that He will not abhor us, even though we have grievously sinned; but that He will, for the sake of His own word, pardon our iniquity.

Solomon next said that the upright depart from evil and that people who keep their way preserve their soul. But while those words are true, he skipped a critical step. No one ever solves the eternal destiny question by departing from evil or by keeping his or her way because a person's righteousness can never satisfy God's holiness. So the correct biblical solution to death and to living right is to come to the Lord by faith and receive His forgiveness for sin. Then he or she will be able to depart from evil, keep their way, and prepare for the other side of the grave.

The relationship with God must come first. Why? Because we need God's perspective in every area of our lives. ...

Priority #4: Home
Proverbs 31:27
The virtuous wife in Proverbs 31 seems to have been a very neat, tidy housekeeper. It seems to come naturally to some people, but I'm not one of them.
Priority #5: Yourself
Everyone needs time alone - time to read, to indulge in a hobby, or just to do nothing. Evaluate your weekly schedule and plan into it time for yourself. ...
Priority #6: Outside The Home
I was sharing my excitement about the priorities of a woman's life with a group of women in upstate New York, and one woman said, "Linda, I cannot believe what you are saying. I know that you believe in the Great Commission, to go into the world and preach the gospel, was given to women as well as to men, yet you are saying that our service for Christ is at the end of the list. Since I became a Christian two years ago, my service to the Lord has been first!"
I smiled and told her I'd like to ask her husband how he liked that!
When my children were very young, I decided before God to keep my priorities in the order I've shared. I still re-evaluate where I spend my time and seek to keep God first, Husband second, my children third, my home fourth, me fifth, and my outside activities sixth.

Thus, a person can believe in the existence of Jesus or the existence of God all that he or she wants. But without those important elements of commitment and of trust, there is no salvation. James 2:19 says, "Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble." A simple example of that occurs with the weather. If the forecaster says a chance of rain, then the person may or may not carry an umbrella. But if the forecaster says that it will rain then the person that truly believes in the forecast will carry an umbrella. In the same way, the person that truly believes in Jesus in the correct biblical context will commit to Him and will also trust in Him. That is what it means to be saved. Solomon said above to trust in the Lord with all of one's heart and to not lean unto one's own understanding. For the person that has not come to Him by faith, that admonition says to come to Him by faith. For the person that has come to Him by faith, it encourages trusting Him in all the important areas of life. A godly person trusting in the Lord should commit his or her life to Him and trust in Him. That commitment and trust pertain to decisions about education, career, finances, and anything else that can go wrong with a bad decision. When a person must choose between one's own path and the Lord's path, always go in the way of His leading.

Trust God Roll your works upon the Lord [commit and trust them wholly to Him; He will cause your thoughts to become agreeable to His will, and] so shall your plans be established and succeed. PROVERBS 16:3 AMP Many people make resolutions at the beginning of a new year . . . only to break them before the month is complete. Others set goals, then lay out detailed plans to accomplish them. In fact, January sees a plethora of self-help courses, webinars, blog posts, and other venues that emphasize how goals and/or resolutions will lead to success if we can manage not to break them or throw out the goals. There’s nothing wrong with these things, except too many times we forget to include God in our plans. In the first chapter of Joshua we read of God’s charge to Joshua after Moses was dead. It was time to lead the children of Israel into the Promised Land. God tells Joshua the secret to success: “Be sure to obey all the teachings my servant Moses gave you. If you follow them exactly, you will be successful in everything you do. Always remember what is written in the Book of the Teachings. Study it day and night to be sure to obey everything that is written there. If you do this, you will be wise and successful in everything” (Joshua 1:7–8 NCV). Solomon writes that we are to roll all our plans and goals onto the Lord. If they are in accordance with God’s plan, then He will establish our plans and help us make them reality. Father, I commit my plans to You today.

1 Doth not wisdom cry? and understanding put forth her voice?
2 She standeth in the top of high places, by the way in the places of the paths.
3 She crieth at the gates, at the entry of the city, at the coming in at the doors.
4 Unto you, O men, I call; and my voice is to the sons of man.
5 O ye simple, understand wisdom: and, ye fools, be ye of an understanding heart.
6 Hear; for I will speak of excellent things; and the opening of my lips shall be right things.
7 For my mouth shall speak truth; and wickedness is an abomination to my lips.
8 All the words of my mouth are in righteousness; there is nothing froward or perverse in them.
9 They are all plain to him that understandeth, and right to them that find knowledge.
10 Receive my instruction, and not silver; and knowledge rather than choice gold.
11 For wisdom is better than rubies; and all the things that may be desired are not to be compared to it.
12 I wisdom dwell with prudence, and find out knowledge of witty inventions.
13 The fear of the Lord is to hate evil: pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate.
14 Counsel is mine, and sound wisdom: I am understanding; I have strength.
15 By me kings reign, and princes decree justice.
16 By me princes rule, and nobles, even all the judges of the earth.
17 I love them that love me; and those that seek me early shall find me.
18 Riches and honour are with me; yea, durable riches and righteousness.
19 My fruit is better than gold, yea, than fine gold; and my revenue than choice silver.
20 I lead in the way of righteousness, in the midst of the paths of judgment:
21 That I may cause those that love me to inherit substance; and I will fill their treasures.
22 The Lord possessed me in the beginning of his way, before his works of old.
23 I was set up from everlasting, from the beginning, or ever the earth was.
24 When there were no depths, I was brought forth; when there were no fountains abounding with water.
25 Before the mountains were settled, before the hills was I brought forth:

29 When he gave to the sea his decree, that the waters should not pass his commandment: when he appointed the foundations of the earth:
30 Then I was by him, as one brought up with him: and I was daily his delight, rejoicing always before him;
31 Rejoicing in the habitable part of his earth; and my delights were with the sons of men.
32 Now therefore hearken unto me, O ye children: for blessed are they that keep my ways.
33 Hear instruction, and be wise, and refuse it not.
34 Blessed is the man that heareth me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at the posts of my doors.
35 For whoso findeth me findeth life, and shall obtain favour of the Lord.
36 But he that sinneth against me wrongeth his own soul: all they that hate me love death.

“
he that reproves a scorner gets to himself shame; and he that rebukes a wicked man gets himself a blot. Reprove not a scorner, lest he hate you; rebuke a wise man, and he will love you. give instruction to a wise man and he will be yet wiser; teach a just man, and he will increase in learning.
the fear of the lord is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.
For by me your days shall increase and the years of your life shall be multiplied. If you be wise, you shall be wise for yourself, but if you scorn, you shall bear it alone.
A clamorous woman is foolish, she is simple, and knows nothing. For she sits at the door of her house on a seat in high places of the city. to call passengers who go right on their ways:
whosoever is simple, let him turn hither, and as for him that wants understanding, she says to him:
stolen waters are sweet, and bread eaten in secret is pleasant,
but he knows not that the dead are there, and that her guests are in the depths of hell.

Proverbs doesn’t have a story line—it’s simply a collection of practical tips for living. Mainly from the pen of King Solomon, the wisest human being ever (in 1 Kings 3:12 God said, “I have given thee a wise and an understanding heart; so that there was none like thee before thee, neither after thee shall any arise like unto thee”), the proverbs speak to issues such as work, money, sex, temptation, drinking, laziness, discipline, and child rearing. Underlying each proverb is the truth that “the fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge” (1:7).

Solomon’s advice to us is to stop trying to solve our problems alone, but to seek God’s help and wisdom. He says, “If you find it, you will have a bright future, and your hopes will not be cut short” (Proverbs 24:14). Jesus tells us in the Gospel of John that we have the Holy Spirit, and we are never alone—EVER! (See John 14-16).

Even though Solomon was the wisest man in the world, he understood the value of receiving advice from others. For example, in Proverbs Solomon offered: “Instruct the wise, and they will be even wiser. Teach the righteous, and they will learn even more” (9:9). “Without wise leadership, a nation falls; there is safety in having many advisers” (11:14). “Fools think their own way is right, but the wise listen to others” (12:15). “Plans go wrong for the lack of advice; many advisers bring success” (15:22). “Get all the advice and instruction you can, so you will be wise the rest of your life” (19:20). “Plans succeed through good counsel; don’t go to war without wise advice” (20:18).
