Rabbi Nachman
β
As the hand held before the eye conceals the greatest mountain, so the little earthly life hides from the glance the enormous lights and mysteries of which the world is full, and he who can draw it away from before his eyes, as one draws away a hand, beholds the great shining of the inner worlds.

There are leaders who go by the name of "rabbi" but whose learning has been picked up from the "superficialities" and "waste" of Torah. They are unable to control even themselves, let alone other people. But they still have pretensions to greatness and seek to lead and guide the whole world. You should be very careful not to accord them any recognition whatsoever, so as to not add in any way to their power or authority. They themselves can be forgiven for what they do: they are no more than victims of a strong lust for power. The people who give them credibility and power and who are prepared to accord them the title "rabbi" will have a heavy penalty to pay (LM I, 61:2).

Rebbe Nachman (Advice - Likutey Etzot)
β
You must have enough faith in Godβs goodness to believe that you are important to Him. Have faith that you too are precious in Godβs eyes. So great is Godβs goodness that each and every person is great and important in His eyes. Being humble does not mean you must put yourself in a state of constricted consciousness. Constantly ask God to bring you to true humility and to have faith in yourself. Some Tzaddikim suffer opposition only because they do not have faith in themselves!

Avraham Greenbaum (The Essential Rabbi Nachman)
β
The Hasidic Rabbi Nachman of Bratslav (1772β1810) taught, βIf you are not going to be better tomorrow than you were today, then what need do you have for tomorrow?β To which Telushkin has added: βAnd if no one feels comfortable criticizing you, the likelihood that you will be better tomorrow is most probably nonexistent.
