Došla su druga vremena. Dece je sve manje, a pasa sve više. Danas znamo ono što nikad nismo znali: psi su uglavnom rasni, a deca su naša, domaća i divlja. Od pasa ne treba ništa i nikoga stvarati, oni se rađaju i umiru kao psi. A od dece treba stvarati ljude, što je skoro nemoguće. Meni je to stvarno teško padalo. U stvari, nije samo da mi je bilo teško. Ja u tom činu nisam mogao da pronađem nikakav smisao. Šta ja, uopšte, znam o sebi? Da li sam ja kojeg spoznajem svojom svešću onaj pravi ja? Kao što moj glas snimljen na traci ne zvuči kao moj, predstava koju imam o sebi možda je samo iskrivljena slika koju sam stvorio prema svom nahođenju. Uvek sam tako razmišljao. Secondly, it is the very nature of spiritual life to grow. Wherever they principle of this life is to be found, it can be no different for it must grow. As natural as it is for children and trees to grow, so natural is growth for the regenerated children of God. Thirdly, the growth of His children is the goal and objective God has in view by administering the means of grace to them. "And He gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; for the perfecting of the saints...that we henceforth be no more children...but speaking the truth in love, may grow up into Him in all things, which is the Head" (Eph. 4:11-15). This is also to be observed in 1 Peter 2:2: "as newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby, " God will reach His goal and His word will not return to Him void; thus God's children will grow in grace. Fourthly, is is the duty to which God's children are continually exhorted, and their activity is to consist in a striving for growth. That it is their duty is to be observed in the following passages: "But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ" (2 Peter 3:18); "He that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still" (Rev. 22:11). The nature of this activity is expressed as follows: "Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after" (Phil. 3:12). If it were not necessary for believers to grow the exhortations to that end would be in vain. Some remain feeble, having but little life and strength. this can be due to a lack of nourishment, living under a barren ministry, or being without guidance. It can also be that they naturally have a slow mind and a lazy disposition; that they have strong corruptions which draw them away; that they are without much are without much strife; that they are too busy from early morning till late evening, due to heavy labor, or to having a family with many children, and thus must struggle or are poverty-stricken. Furthermore, it can be that they either do not have the opportunity to converse with the godly; that they do not avail themselves of such opportunities; or that they are lazy as far as reading in God's Word and prayer are concerned. Such persons are generally subject to many ups and downs. At one time they lift up their heads out of all their troubles, by renewal becoming serious, and they seek God with their whole heart. It does not take long, however , and they are quickly cast down in despondency - or their lusts gain the upper hand. Thus they remain feeble and are, so to speak, continually on the verge of death. Some of them occasionally make good progress, but then grieve the Spirit of God and backslide rapidly. For some this lasts for a season, after which they are restored, but others are as those who suffer from consumption - they languish until they die. Oh what a sad condition this is! (Chapter 89. Many erroneously suppose that when Christ's Millennial Kingdom is inaugurated every one will be pleased with its ruling. But not so. Its regulations will be far more exacting than those of any previous government, and the liberties of the people will be restricted to a degree that will be galling indeed to many now clamoring for an increase of liberty. Liberty to deceive, to misrepresent, to overreach and to defraud others, will be entirely cut off. Liberty to abuse themselves or others in food or in drink, or in any way to corrupt good manners, will be totally denied to all. Liberty or license to do wrong of any sort will not be granted to any. The only liberty that will be granted to any will be the true and glorious liberty of the sons of God -liberty to do good to themselves and others in any and in every way; but nothing will be allowed to injure or destroy in all that Holy Kingdom (Isa. 11:9; Rom. 8:21). That rule will consequently be felt by many to be a severe one, breaking up all their former habits and customs, as well as breaking up institutions founded upon these false habits and false ideas of liberty. Juce sam grejao telom jednog kretena sto smo se sto puta pobili. Lezi ispred neke zgrade, ceka da ga neko pusti unutra. A niko ga ne pusta. Lose izgleda, zlokobno, i to ljudi ne vole. A dok sam ga grejao, sve mi se razjasnilo, Nezna dusa, nego ga je zivot naucio da nikom ne veruje, i da samo grize. To uopste nije do njega, njemu je tako objasnjeno. Ako imate neko cebe koje vam ne treba, bacite ga negde, pored nekog drveta, u neki cosak, negde gde ne smeta, i neka pseca dusa ce ga naci, i to ce joj spasiti zivot, da imate preko leta s kim da se proganjate. Ja znam jednog tipa iz starog kraja, jednog drkadziju, zivi na cetvrtom spratu tog jednog solitera i nervira ga jedna kucka sto zivi tu izmedju zgrada. Ona laje izmedju pet i sest ujutru, uvek. On je cesto cuje i fantazira o tome da ima snajper i da joj prosvira mozak, samo da ucuti. I leti i zimi. I leti je ne konstatuje kad je vid, osim sto je nekag opsuje i kaze joj - Glupaco- Ali, zimi, zimi je pusa u zgradu i od kad se odselila ona komsinica sto je natovila jednom kao prase, on joj i hranu donosi. The clearest short-term yardstick may be the PSA nadir (discussed above). One study of 743 patients at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York confirmed that higher-intensity radiation does a better job of achieving a rock-bottom PSA level. Of the men who received higher doses—76 to 81 Gy—90 percent achieved a PSA nadir of 1.0 ng/ml or less; 76 percent of men who received 70 Gy and 56 percent of men who received 64.8 Gy achieved those low PSA levels. But there was a trade-off—the men who received higher doses of radiation also had a significantly higher rate of gastrointestinal side effects, urinary tract complications, and impotence. To overcome these side effects at high doses, intensity-modulated radiation therapy

(IMRT) has an advantage. The newer, high-dose, conformally directed, external-beam techniques for radiation therapy such as IMRT have been in widespread use for less than ten years; IGRT has been around for an even shorter time. However, some reports of long-term success are now emerging. New studies suggest that at ten years, high radiation doses alone can produce PSA control or cure rates in 93 percent of men with low-risk prostate cancer. What about more aggressive prostate cancer? As we discussed in chapter 9, the best treatment regimen for men with intermediate- and high-risk prostate cancer is still a moving target, but it will likely turn out to be a combination of high-dose radiation and short- or long-term hormonal therapy.

Ingredient 2: Sorrow for Sin “I will be sorry for my sin” (Psa 38:18). Ambrose calls sorrow the embittering of the soul. The Hebrew word “to be sorrowful” signifies “to have the soul, as it were, crucified.” This must be in true repentance: “They shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn” (Zec 12:10), as if they did feel the nails of the cross sticking in their sides. A woman may as well expect to have a child without pangs as one can have repentance without sorrow. He that can believe without doubting, suspect his faith; and he that can repent without sorrowing, suspect his repentance. Martyrs shed blood for Christ, and penitents shed tears for sin: “she…stood at his [Jesus’] feet…weeping” (Luk 7:38). See how this limbeck[19] dropped. The sorrow of her heart ran out at her eye…

The Bible account of man's creation is that God created him perfect and upright, an earthly image of himself; that man sought out various inventions and defiled himself (Gen. 1:27; Rom. 5:12; Eccl. 7:29); that, all being sinners, the race was unable to help itself, and none could by any means redeem his brother or give to God a ransom for him (Psa. 49: 7, 15); that God in compassion and love had made provision for this; that, accordingly, the Son of God became a man, and gave man's ransom-price; that, as a reward for this sacrifice, and in order to the completion of the great work of atonement, he was highly exalted, even to the divine nature; and that in due time he will bring to pass a restitution of the race to the original perfection and to every blessing then possessed. These things are clearly taught in the Scriptures, from beginning to end, and are in direct opposition to the Evolution theory; or, rather, such 'babblings of science, falsely so called,' are in violent and irreconcilable conflict with the Word of God.

[...] Lítost je stanje otužnosti, rođene pogledom na vlastitu, naglo otkrivenu bijedu. Jedan od uobičajenih lijekova protiv vlastite bijede je ljubav. Jer onaj tko je potpuno voljen, ne može biti bijedan. Sve njegove nedostatke iskupljuje čaroban pogled ljubavi u kojemu i nespretno plivanje s glavom nad vodom postaje očaravajuće. Potpunost ljubavi je zapravo želja za potpunim izjednačenjem: želja da voljena žena pliva sporo kao i mi, da nema prošlosti koja pripada samo njoj i koje bi se sa srećom mogla sjećati. Ali, ako je iluzija potpunog izjednačenja narušena (djevojka pliva brže ili se sjeća sretne prošlosti), ljubav postaje neprestanim izvorom te velike smutnje koju zovemo lítost. Kako ljudi pretrpavaju svoj bijedni brodić do vrha jarbola skupocjenom odjećom i velikim kućama, nepotrebnom poslugom i gomilom nazoviprijatelja, kojima nimalo nije stalo do njih a za koje ni sami ne mare naročito, skupim zabavama u kojima nitko ne uživa, konvencionalnostima i modom, pretvaranjem i nadutošću i - oh, najtežim, najglupljim od svih tereta! - strahom što će o njima misliti susjedi, luksuzom koji samo zasićuje, uživanjima koja samo izazivaju dosadu, praznim šepurenjem koje, kao željezna kruna kojom su nekad krunili zločince, oblijeva krvlju i prožima bolom izmučenu glavu koja je nosi! Ta ljubav je bez interesa - Tereza ništa ne traži od Karenjina. Ne traži od njega ni ljubav. Nikad sebi nije postavljala pitanja koja toliko muče ljudske parove: voli li me? Je li volio nekoga više od mene? Voli li on mene više nego što ja volim njega? Možda sva ta pitanja što se postavljaju u ljubavi, koja je mjere, ispituju, proučavaju, saslušavaju, u stvari u samom početku uništavaju ljubav. Ruszyliśmy do stacji, on za mną, oto bryczka, konie, furman — znajoma bryczka i znajome to uchylenie furmańskiej czapki, dlaczego więc tak się przyglądam z uporem?... Wsiadam, za mną Fryderyk, jedziemy, piaszczysta droga pod światłem ciemnego nieba, bokami nadpływa czarność drzewa lub krzaka, wjeżdżamy w wieś Brzustową, bielą się wapnem deski i psa szczekanie... zagadkowe... przede mną plecy furmana... zagadkowe... a obok ten człowiek, który milcząco, układnie, mi towarzyszy. To mi je najomiljenije mesto u gradiću, trg pored katedrale u firenci nije ništa u poređenju sa njim. Sada, kad sa lepog kamenog mosta gledam gore i dole, vidim kuće duž reke, a ne znam ko u njima živi. I kada iz jedne od njih gleda lpa devojka (kojih je u Kalvu uvek bilo), ja ne znam kako se zove. PSA8.3 When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained;  PSA8.4 What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him? 

PSA9.1 I will praise thee, O LORD, with my whole heart; I will shew forth all thy marvellous works. PSA9.2 I will be glad and rejoice in thee: I will sing praise to thy name, O thou most High.

PSA1.1 Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. PSA1.2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.

PSA2.11 Serve the LORD with fear, and rejoice with trembling.

PSA3.3 But thou, O LORD, art a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of mine head.

PSA7.9 Oh let the wickedness of the wicked come to an end; but establish the just: for the righteous God trieth the hearts and reins.

PSA7.17 I will praise the LORD according to his righteousness: and will sing praise to the name of the LORD most high.

PSA22.16 For dogs have compassed me: the assembly of the wicked have inclosed me: they pierced my hands and my feet.

PSA22.18 They part my garments among them, and cast lots upon my vesture.
