I learned the first rule of repentance: that repentance requires greater intimacy with God than with our sin. How much greater? About the size of a mustard seed. Repentance requires that we draw near to Jesus, no matter what. And sometimes we all have to crawl there on our hands and knees. Repentance is an intimate affair. And for many of us, intimacy with anything is a terrifying prospect.
Rosaria Champagne Butterfield (The Secret Thoughts of an Unlikely Convert: An English Professor's Journey Into Christian Faith)
As long as we have unsolved problems, unfulfilled desires, and a mustard seed of faith, we have all we need for a vibrant prayer life.
John Ortberg

The Mustard Seed Charm With Faith As Small As A Mustard Seed, Then You Can Move Mountains: Nothing Will Be Impossible
Viola Shipman (The Charm Bracelet)
Faith doesn't have to be much. Not any bigger than a mustard seed... That small. Only that much faith you'll need in me, God says, because I am so big. I am the Great I Am. So have faith in me.
Patricia Raybon (I Told the Mountain to Move: Learning to Pray So Things Change)
You have to get to know God on a very intimate level in order to have the kind of faith that will withstand the storms life throws at you. It’s a good thing that we only have to have the amount of a mustard seed. Sometimes that’s about all I can find. You won’t find even that much, though, if you treat him as the enemy or simply a passing acquaintance.
Lynette Eason (Always Watching (Elite Guardians, #1))
Faith isn't an act of intelligence, it's an act of imagination. Every time you give them a new metaphor, a mustard seed, a field, a garden, a vineyard, it's like pointing something out to a cat - the cat looks at your finger, not at what you're pointing at. They don't need to understand it, they only need to believe, and they do. They imagine the kingdom as they need it to be, they don't need to grasp it, it's there already, they can let it be. Imagination, not intellect.
Christopher Moore (Lamb: The Gospel According to Biff, Christ’s Childhood Pal)
Go about your work with a quiet confidence that cannot be shake...No matter what happens, remember if you have faith as a grain of mustard seed, you can move mountains.' (Ducky Drake, UCLA Track Coach)
David Maraniss (Rome 1960: The Olympics That Changed the World)
I have a mustard seed; and I am not afraid to use it
Pope Benedict XVI
You don’ have to know how or why faith work—you jus’ got to make sure you find some when you feelin’ lost.
Laila Ibrahim (Mustard Seed (Freedman/Johnson, #2))
If you have but the faith of a mustard seed, you shall move mountains.
Neale Donald Walsch (Conversations with God: An Uncommon Dialogue, Book 1)
You have to work at it. You have to know God on a very intimate level in order to have the kind of faith that will withstand the storms life throws at you. It's a good thing that we only have to have the amount of a mustard seed. Sometimes that's about all I can find.

Viola Shipman (The Charm Bracelet)
We have to have faith as if everything depends on God, while we work hard as if everything depends on us.
Nancy Moser (The Quest (The Mustard Seed #2))
Many "suddenly" miracles are made of quiet moments of faithfulness.

Faith is a fragile thing, Sheriff. Do you know that? They like to talk about mustard seeds and not walking by sight and all that shit, but the truth is it don’t take much to break your faith. Get sick, get broke, or lose your only son. Your faith will run out of town faster than a deadbeat daddy,
S.A. Cosby (All the Sinners Bleed)
But you know, I keep serving anyway. I keep acting like God exists. I keep loving people. I keep obeying His commands, as far-away as they feel. I force myself into the church community. I put my tiny little shred of faith into His Son. I pray, even if it's a few words at night. I read Scripture, my heavy head on a pillow as the app shines its tiny little screen into the darkness. And most days, that meager little mustard-seed-faith is just enough.
J.S. Park (What The Church Won't Talk About: Real Questions From Real People About Raw, Gritty, Everyday Faith)
Your mustard seed is enough.
Armesse Cheney (Stay Here: Staying in Christ, remaining anchored in His presence, and allowing His Word to come alive in our thoughts, hearts, and actions.)

Becky Wade (My Stubborn Heart)

Sébastien Richard (Kingdom Fundamentals: What the Kingdom of God Means and What it Means for You | A Thorough and Biblical Exposition of the Kingdom of Heaven as Preached by Jesus)
any choice made from faith has the full power of heaven behind it—which is why “faith the size of a mustard seed can move a mountain.
Caroline Myss (Anatomy of the Spirit: The Seven Stages of Power and Healing)
If your faith is strong enough, she'll be healed.' If I've heard that once, I've heard it a thousand times. The problem is, when someone tells you that, they're not asking you to put faith in the power of God; they're asking you to put faith in the power of your own faith. And I can't even pretend that my mustard-seed faith measures up to the promises of God.
Christy Wilson Beam (Miracles from Heaven: A Little Girl, Her Journey to Heaven, and Her Amazing Story of Healing)
Afterward the disciples asked Jesus privately, “Why couldn’t we cast out that demon?” 20 “You don’t have enough faith,” Jesus told them. “I tell you the truth, if you had faith even as small as a mustard seed, you could say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it would move. to either release you from it or be with you in it. God gives us everything we need, but it is up to us to decide what we will believe, what we will trust God for, and what we will choose to focus our lives on. That’s why scripture says we only need a small mustard seed of faith. If we are simply inclined to believe God, he will build on that starter faith and we can become faith giants without limits. He creates it in us. Today I choose to believe God. Will you join me? For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor un-circumcision has any value. The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love (Gal 5:6). Faith is the only thing that counts.
Bob Saffrin (Moses - Steps to a Life of Faith)
Life sometimes is like tossing a coin in the air calling heads or tails, but it doesn’t matter what side it lands on; life goes on. It is hard when you’ve lost the will to fight because you’ve been fighting for so long. You are smothered by the pain. Mentally, you are drained. Physically, you are weak. Emotionally, you are weighed down. Spiritually, you do not have one tiny mustard seed of faith. The common denominator is that other people’s problems have clouded your mind with all of their negativity. You cannot feel anything; you are numb. You do not have the energy to surrender, and you choose not to escape because you feel safe when you are closed in. As you move throughout the day, you do just enough to get by. Your mindset has changed from giving it your all to—well, something is better than nothing. You move in slow motion like a zombie, and there isn’t any color, just black and white, with every now and then a shade of gray. You’ve shut everyone out and crawled back into the rabbit hole. Life passes you by as you feel like you cannot go on. You look around for help; for someone to take the pain away and to share your suffering, but no one is there. You feel alone, you drift away when you glance ahead and see that there are more uphill battles ahead of you. You do not have the option to turn around because all of the roads are blocked. You stand exactly where you are without making a step. You try to think of something, but you are emotionally bankrupt. Where do you go from here? You do not have a clue. Standing still isn’t helping because you’ve welcomed unwanted visitors; voices are in your head, asking, “What are you waiting for? Take the leap. Jump.” They go on to say, “You’ve had enough. Your burdens are too heavy.” You walk towards the cliff; you turn your head and look at the steep hill towards the mountain. The view isn’t helping; not only do you have to climb the steep hill, but you have to climb up the mountain too. You take a step; rocks and dust fall off the cliff. You stumble and you move forward. The voices in your head call you a coward. You are beginning to second-guess yourself because you want to throw in the towel. You close your eyes; a tear falls and travels to your chin. As your eyes are closed the Great Divine’s voice is louder; yet, calmer, soothing; and you feel peace instantly. Your mind feels light, and your body feels balanced. The Great Divine whispers gently and softly in your ear: “Fallen Warrior, I know you have given everything you’ve got, and you feel like you have nothing left to give. Fallen Warrior, I know it’s been a while since you smiled. Fallen Warrior, I see that you are hurting, and I feel your pain. Fallen Warrior, this is not the end. This is the start of your new beginning. Fallen Warrior, do not doubt My or your abilities; you have more going for you than you have going against you. Fallen Warrior, keep moving, you have what it takes; perseverance is your middle name. Fallen Warrior, you are not the victim! You are the victor! You step back because you know why you are here. You know why you are alive. Sometimes you have to be your own Shero. As a fallen warrior, you are human; and you have your moments. There are days when you have more ups than downs, and some days you have more downs than ups. I most definitely can relate. I was floating through life, but I had to change my mindset. During my worst days, I felt horrible, and when I started to think negatively I felt like I was dishonoring myself. I felt sick, I felt afraid, fear began to control my every move. I felt like demons were trying to break in and take over my life.
Charlena E. Jackson (A Woman's Love Is Never Good Enough)
Sometimes I really can't express how much I feel, but I can tell for a fact that some past years have been a victorious rollercoaster ride with God in it. Some days colourful, some days black and white, some days faith bigger than a mustard seed, other days I'm filled with blind doubt about what tomorrow holds. But in all of this, I'm beautifully me and constantly running the race through the father's grace.
Temi O'Sola
Faith even the size of a mustard seed can move mountains, but many of us prefer the less spectacular but safer results that come from operating in our own strength.... Do we really believe that our prayers to an invisible God can and will change the hard hearts of tyrants, break down oppressive social and religious systems, and deliver fullness of life to those who suffer in abject hopelessness. F.B. Meyer wrote, 'You do not test the resources of God until you attempt the impossible.
Jason Mandryk (Operation World: When We Pray God Works)
Thankfully, He's the kind of God who welcomes our questions, who can wrestle with us through the confusion and still bless us in the process. He is the kind of God who desires true faith, even at its weakest points, and looks for mustard seeds instead of mountains. He is the kind of God who delights in the plea, "Help my unbelief" and then holds on to us because we can't hold on to Him anymore. He is the kind of God who can handle all our doubt, all our fear, all our questions if we will simply commit to letting Him.
Hannah Anderson (Made for More: An Invitation to Live in God's Image)
We must understand that God has given us all the necessary amount of faith that we need to believe and trust His Word. Then what is the issue? Why are there so many Christians who find it difficult to believe God? Why does the supernatural seem elusive to so many? It is very simple; they have not exercised their faith, and therefore it is weak. Faith is the muscular system of the spiritual realm. Like our physical muscles, it increases with use. You didn’t do anything to earn your muscles, but you still need to use them. Muscles are developed! If you never exercise your physical muscles they will atrophy. Many believers are weak in faith, and as a result they are building their house on sand. They are unable to weather the storms of life. The Word of God says: And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you (Matthew 17:20 KJV).

Pray one for another.” — James 5:16 As an encouragement cheerfully to offer intercessory prayer, remember that such prayer is the sweetest God ever hears, for the prayer of Christ is of this character. In all the incense which our Great High Priest now puts into the golden censer, there is not a single grain for himself. His intercession must be the most acceptable of all supplications—and the more like our prayer is to Christ’s, the sweeter it will be; thus while petitions for ourselves will be accepted, our pleadings for others, having in them more of the fruits of the Spirit, more love, more faith, more brotherly kindness, will be, through the precious merits of Jesus, the sweetest oblation that we can offer to God, the very fat of our sacrifice. Remember, again, that intercessory prayer is exceedingly prevalent. What wonders it has wrought! The Word of God teems with its marvellous deeds. Believer, thou hast a mighty engine in thy hand, use it well, use it constantly, use it with faith, and thou shalt surely be a benefactor to thy brethren. When thou hast the King’s ear, speak to him for the suffering members of his body. When thou art favoured to draw very near to his throne, and the King saith to thee, “Ask, and I will give thee what thou wilt,” let thy petitions be, not for thyself alone, but for the many who need his aid. If thou hast grace at all, and art not an intercessor, that grace must be small as a grain of mustard seed. Thou hast just enough grace to float thy soul clear from the quicksand, but thou hast no deep floods of grace, or else thou wouldst carry in thy joyous bark a weighty cargo of the wants of others, and thou wouldst bring back from thy Lord, for them, rich blessings which but for thee they might not have obtained:— “Oh, let my hands forget their skill, My tongue be silent, cold, and still, This bounding heart forget to beat, If I forget the mercy-seat!

If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed...nothing shall be impossible unto you." (Matthew 17:20) ==========

When your heart is right with God and your desire is to please God. God is obligated to bring you into the company of the people that you need to know, the knowledge of the things that you need to know, that is critical to your success and destiny in life.

If you had faith even as small as a mustard seed, you could say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it would move. Nothing would be impossible.” (Matthew 17:20)
Laura L. Smith (Skinny (False Reflections #1))
It may be you hold him with a feeble hand; you half think it presumption to say, "He lives as my Redeemer;" yet, remember if you have but faith as a grain of mustard seed, that little faith entitles you to say it. But there is also another word here, expressive of Job's strong confidence, "I know." To say, "I hope so, I trust so" is comfortable; and there are thousands in the fold of Jesus who hardly ever get much further. But to reach the essence of consolation you must say, "I know.
Charles Haddon Spurgeon (Christian Classics: Six books by Charles Spurgeon in a single collection, with active table of contents)
April 21 MORNING “I know that my Redeemer liveth.” — Job 19:25 THE marrow of Job’s comfort lies in that little word “My” — “My Redeemer,” and in the fact that the Redeemer lives. Oh! to get hold of a living Christ. We must get a property in Him before we can enjoy Him. What is gold in the mine to me? Men are beggars in Peru, and beg their bread in California. It is gold in my purse which will satisfy my necessities, by purchasing the bread I need. So a Redeemer who does not redeem me, an avenger who will never stand up for my blood, of what avail were such? Rest not content until by faith you can say “Yes, I cast myself upon my living Lord; and He is mine.” It may be you hold Him with a feeble hand; you half think it presumption to say, “He lives as my Redeemer;” yet, remember if you have but faith as a grain of mustard seed, that little faith entitles you to say it. But there is also another word here, expressive of Job’s strong confidence, “I know.” To say, “I hope so, I trust so” is comfortable; and there are thousands in the fold of Jesus who hardly ever get much further. But to reach the essence of consolation you must say, “I know.” Ifs, buts, and perhapses, are sure murderers of peace and comfort. Doubts are dreary things in times of sorrow. Like wasps they sting the soul! If I have any suspicion that Christ is not mine, then there is vinegar mingled with the gall of death; but if I know that Jesus lives for me, then darkness is not dark: even the night is light about me. Surely if Job, in those ages before the coming and advent of Christ, could say, “I know,” we should not speak less positively. God forbid that our positiveness should be presumption. Let us see that our evidences are right, lest we build upon an ungrounded hope; and then let us not be satisfied with the mere foundation, for it is from the upper rooms that we get the widest prospect. A living Redeemer, truly mine, is joy unspeakable.
Charles Haddon Spurgeon (Morning and Evening—Classic KJV Edition: A Devotional Classic for Daily Encouragement)
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” Hebrews 11:1 Faith is evidence. Evidence suggests that it must be tangible. So we must have tangible works that prove our intangible faith.

We just have to believe and excise our faith: The Lord answered, 'If you had faith even as small as a mustard seed, you could say to thi mulberry tree, 'May you be uprooted and thrown into the sea,' and it would obey you!(Luke 17:6, NLT).

The Word says that if we have a faith as small as a mustard seed we can move mountains. And yet, we limit what God can accomplish through us when we continuously mull over our fears, feed our hopelessness, and encourage anxiety, which then causes doubt.  Doubt hinders God’s power.

For truly I tell you, if you have faith the size of a mustard seed you will say to this mountain, “Move from here to there,” and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.’ The mustard seed signified inner strength.
Melissa Hill (The Charm Bracelet: A Novel (New York Romance))
Every act of obedience, no matter how small, makes our heavenly Father proud. Every act of faith - even a faith as small as a mustard seed - puts on a smile on His face. Every sacrifice, no matter how insignificant it may seem to us, makes a difference.
Mark Batterson (Draw the Circle: The 40 Day Prayer Challenge)
…the tiny mustard seed contains all the nutrients you need to survive. It's packed with vitamins B1, B6, C, E, and K. It's a source of calcium, iron, magnesium, phosphorus, potassium, selenium, and zinc. Faith is a lot like that. It doesn't look like much, but we never know what it can become. A little faith goes a long way; in fact, a little faith will last an eternity.
Mark Batterson (Draw the Circle: The 40 Day Prayer Challenge)
As a man thinketh, so is he? The Faith of a mustard seed? I planted those words in my thoughts and still my mind wound up lost between my dreams and reality.

After breakfast I went back to bed, but for the longest time, I could not sleep. I stared at Clarice’s shams and prayed and prayed and prayed. I had been raised to believe that prayer could move mountains, if only you had faith the size of a mustard seed. “Mountains be damned,” I whispered to God.

Joshilyn Jackson (Gods in Alabama)
Faith, as a mustard seed, is what is needed to move your mountain (problem or circumstance). One of the tiniest seeds, there are, and yet it grows into a large tree. Your faith, however small it may be, can do the same. God gives us the faith we need to trust Him. Use your faith today.
Paddick Van Zyl (Take Time to Reflect)
You just needed faith the size of a mustard seed that no matter what, things would work out.
Brittainy C. Cherry (Disgrace)
For I assure you: If you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you will tell this mountain, “Move from here to there,” and it will move. Nothing will be impossible to you. —Matthew 17:20
Mariah Carey (The Meaning of Mariah Carey)
This is the first rule of great faith. Anybody can walk on the land, but faith is a water walker. She can do, act, and work where others fail. Remember, Jesus did not say that faith would merely lift mustard seeds or remove molehills. These little things are not the sphere for faith. He said, “You will say to this mountain, Be removed; or to this sycamore tree, Be plucked up by the roots.” Faith loves to deal in great things, in marvelous adventures, in projects beyond human power. There is no room for the exercise of faith where reason and human strength will suffice. Faith is a vessel expressly built for the deep seas.
D.I. Hennessey (The Dragon's Tail (Niergel Chronicles #4))
While earthly kingdoms belong to the rich and powerful, Jesus spoke of a kingdom that belongs to the meek and the gentle, the merciful and the peacemakers. Whereas earthly kingdoms usually start with a sovereign leader taking control, Jesus said his kingdom would start small, like a mustard seed, and grow from the bottom up. While earthly politicians associate with the rich and elite, Jesus associated with outcasts. While earthly kings prefer liberty by conquest, Jesus spoke of liberty through forgiveness.
Rachel Held Evans (Faith Unraveled: How a Girl Who Knew All the Answers Learned to Ask Questions)
Are we willing to lay down our lives and pick up His in return? Again, many will emphatically answer yes, all the while a casual look into their lives at the fruit they are manifesting will prove just where their hearts truly lie. Are we willing to be forgotten; rejected; to gladly serve at what society would deem “the bottom”? Or are we set on studying and rehearsing and decreeing the philosophies of man in an attempt to show we know the Word of God? Are we looking to elevate ourselves by being pumped up with “knowledge”? Or is the Word of God enough for us, as it should be anyone who has faith the size of a mustard seed?
Stacy Angelique McDonald (As You Rise: Scriptural Insights to Help You Get and Stay on The Narrow Way)
Everyone who must contend with unbelief should be advised that he ought not to take his own unbelief too seriously. Only faith is to be taken seriously; and if we have faith as a grain of mustard seed, that suffices for the devil to have lost his game.
Karl Barth (Dogmatics in Outline)
*God, give me faith like my grandmother’s, faith like a child’s, faith as a mustard seed that nevertheless can move a mountain.*
Melanie Dickerson (Cloak of Scarlet (The Dericott Tales, #5))
For truly I tell you, if you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you." (Matthew 17:20-21).
Saint Matthew
This must be what heaven smelt like, minus the hotdogs.
Sarah Hickner (Finding Gideon: A Broken Dream, a Missing Horse, and the Faith of a Mustard Seed)
The metal smell of blood clung to me for hours, my new perfume.
Sarah Hickner (Finding Gideon: A Broken Dream, a Missing Horse, and the Faith of a Mustard Seed)
mustard seed and the moving of mountains are both metaphors. Faith, like a mustard seed, is an apparently small and insignificant thing that can achieve impossibly great things. What faith can achieve is like moving mountains or, as Luke would have it, like moving a mulberry tree. One suspects some early confusion of metaphors here. Nevertheless, the point is clear enough. Faith, for Jesus, is an almighty power, a power that can achieve the impossible.7
Albert Nolan (Jesus Before Christianity)
I told My disciples that if they had faith the size of a mustard seed, they could move a mountain. Your faith grows with every trial and every test. You have all the faith you need. Trust is not a concept that you sit and wonder about. It’s not a subject to be debated, or a text that you have to exegete. It is moving when I say ‘move’.
Anna-Stacia D Haley (Loving the Prophetess)
What is baptism? Baptism is the faithful work of Jesus Christ applied to you, such that, now, no matter your sin, no matter your doubts and unbelief, no matter your spotty performance as a disciple, no matter if your puny faith makes a mustard seed look like a mountain, by his faithfulness applied to you, through water and the word, you are in Christ now. Believe in that. Put your faith in that. Cling to that. When life sends twisters swirling all around you, grab ahold of that. It’ll hold. What good is your faith? John Stott answers,
Jason Micheli (A Quid without Any Quo: Gospel Freedom according to Galatians)
If you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.” Matthew 17: 21
Jesus
Jesus sweetens the prize by the promise that the man of faith will be endowed with miraculous powers. “All things are possible to him who believes.” ...he who believes in me will also do the works that I do; and greater works than these will he do, because go to the Father. Whatever you ask in my name, I will do it...if you ask anything in my name, I will do it. (John 14. 12-14) ...if you have faith as a grain of mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move hence to yonder place,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible to you. (Matthew 17. 20) Unlike many of his other teachings, these statements by Jesus are quite clear. Anything asked in the name of Jesus will be granted, including the miraculous transportation of a mountain. It would take very few examples of mountain moving to convert the atheists of the world, but the modern Christian is reluctant to defend these grandiose claims of faith, much less attempt an actual demonstration.
George H. Smith (Atheism: The Case Against God)
This is a tough one for heaps of us...if not all of us. We're taught our parents' beliefs, society's beliefs, religions' beliefs, and many other beliefs. Then there's us, caught-up in the middle of this confusion, and life stuff's still happening around us: Our first fight, our first kiss, our first oh! my!, our first failure, our first success, and our first shame. Then it starts: We recognise a flaw in the beliefs we learnt, and we query it. They say, "Don't worry about it. Take a leap of faith, or Don't waste your time, or..." So, you say to yourself: It is better to go with the flow, because it hurts too much to go against it. And then we start to please: To please family; to please friends; to please our God. Then hate starts. All of a sudden we are hating just like our parents, our friends, our society, our God. We developed hate. And the only way out of it is to forgive, and start to love. We then develop self-worth, and we realise that it's okay to be liked, and it's okay not to be liked; it's okay that other people have different views; it's okay that we are all different but one; it's okay to be wrong; it's okay to be right; and it's okay to be ME." You are an ORIGINAL WINNER!

26 Mustard Seeds and Mountains The disciples asked Jesus privately, “Why couldn’t we cast out that [boy’s] demon?” “You didn’t have enough faith,” Jesus told them. “I assure you, even if you had faith as small as a mustard seed you could say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it would move. Nothing would be impossible.” Matthew 17:19-20 Did you know that an average-sized aspirin bottle holds more than 180,000 mustard seeds? One of those miniscule seeds, when planted in fertile soil, can produce a ten-foot bush within three months! How many times have we faced mountains and felt that our faith was small and insufficient? We might have asked ourselves how God could remove a mountain in light of the fact that our faith is so inadequate. Perhaps we’ve even considered surrendering to the circumstances that stand in our way. When the disciples felt the sting of failure over their inability to heal the boy in today’s reading, Jesus directed them to place their faith—no matter how small—in him rather than in their own abilities. The mustard seed is a reminder to walk to the base of the mountain hand in hand with the all-powerful God. It is a tangible symbol that it is not your strength that will move the mountain; rather, it is the God in whom you place your faith that can move a mountain out of your way. GOD, the mountain of my circumstances seems so large, yet when I look to you as the source of my strength, it becomes insignificant. My faith seems small, yet when I place it in the Creator’s hands, it can produce a greater harvest than I could ever imagine. Lord, take my tiny seed of faith, and multiply it with your strength, wisdom, and guidance. Thank you for assuring my heart that nothing is impossible with you.

If you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you will tell this mountain, “Move from here to there,” and it will move. Matthew 17:20

And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove;and nothing shall be impossible unto you.
James Riddle (Complete Personalized Promise Bible on Financial Increase)
People tried to blame him for his own troubles, saying, “Well, if your faith was strong enough, God would protect you,” but that’s just something people say to protect themselves—to separate themselves from other people’s troubles. “If your faith is strong enough, she’ll be healed.” If I’ve heard that once, I’ve heard it a thousand times. The problem is, when someone tells you that, they’re not asking you to put faith in the power of God; they’re asking you to put faith in the power of your own faith. And I can’t even pretend that my mustard-seed faith measures up to the promises of God.

I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, “Move from here to there,” and it would move. Matthew 17:20

God will bore through mountains of intellect for a grain of faith - for it is not the intellectual who finds Him, but He who finds the intellectual.

Faith the size of a mustard seed produces mountain sized hope.

Faith isn’t an act of intelligence, it’s an act of imagination. Every time you give them a new metaphor for the kingdom they see the metaphor, a mustard seed, a field, a garden, a vineyard, it’s like pointing something out to a cat—the cat looks at your finger, not at what you’re pointing at. They don’t need to understand it, they only need to believe, and they do. They imagine the kingdom as they need it to be, they don’t need to grasp it, it’s there already, they can let it be. Imagination, not intellect.

Sometimes all we need is mustard seed faith Matthew 17:20

True faith has no eyes, no ability to see. Instead, the Father left us with the most precious little grain—a tiny little thing—in a mustard seed.
Ursula Denise Walker (Alive! Reconnected & Revived)
The thing I will never forget was the talk he gave about faith. While the forgettable man handed out little red leatherette-bound New Testaments, “Searchlight” passed out key chains. They were not just any key chains. Each one had a little plastic ball on the end with a single mustard seed inside. The plastic globe magnified it, much like the odd man’s eyes. If you looked closely, you could read a Bible verse on a shred of paper next to the mustard seed. It said, “If ye have faith, even as much as a single seed of mustard, ye shall be able to move mountains.” I took that to heart. In my particular case it might have said, “Ye shall move from the mountains” or even “Ye shall grow mountains and parlay them into a huge career.

But in all of this, I'm beautifully me and constantly running the race through the father's grace

The martyrs remind us that if we would just have faith the size of a mustard seed, then no matter what it is that is taking place in our lives, we will be at peace. Why? Because we belong to God. And because our lives are in his hands. And because he is never afraid, and he can handle any situation that we could ever face.

There was something, I could tell by the way she hesitated. "If you have faith, even if it's no bigger than a mustard seed, you'll be saved.

Truly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and thrown into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says will come to pass, it will be done for him. Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. (Mark 11:23-24) And Jesus answered, “O faithless and twisted generation, how long am I to be with you? How long am I to bear with you? Bring him here to me.” And Jesus rebuked the demon, and it came out of him, and the boy was healed instantly. Then the disciples came to Jesus privately and said, “Why could we not cast it out?” He said to them, “Because of your little faith. For truly, I say to you, if you have faith like a grain of mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move, and nothing will be impossible for you.” (Matthew 17:17-20)

For truly, I say to you, if you have faith as a grain of mustard seed, you will say to this mountain: Move hence to yonder place—and it will move; and nothing will be impossible to you” (Matthew xvii, 20-21)—these are the words of the Master. “And science takes a grain of hydrogen and releases the energy imprisoned in this grain, and reduces the mountain to dust”—replies the twentieth century.

And Jesus answered and said, “You unbelieving and perverted generation, how long shall I be with you? How long shall I put up with you? Bring him here to Me.” 18And Jesus rebuked him, and the demon came out of him, and the boy was cured 1at once. 19Then the disciples came to Jesus privately and said, “Why could we not drive it out?” 20And He said to them, “Because of the littleness of your faith; for truly I say to you, oif you have faith 1the size of pa mustard seed, you will say to qthis mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and rnothing will be impossible to you. 21[1 sBut this kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting.”]

If you have faith, even if it’s as little as a mustard seed, you can move mountains.

Luke 17:5-6, a Lukan paraphrase of Mark 11:22-24, strikes a surprising note of pessimism: "The apostles said to the Lord, `Increase our faith!' And the Lord said, `If you had faith as a grain of mustard seed, you could say to this sycamine tree, "Be uprooted and planted in the sea!" and it would obey you."' The point is surely that, since such a thing is plainly never going to happen, you can see how little faith any one will ever have. It is like the rhetorical question of Luke 18:8, "When the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on earth?" The same double bind has caught the father of the deaf-mute epileptic in Mark 9:24, "1 believe; help my unbelief!" (How striking that the single most poignant and insightful New Testament statement about faith is made not by the Messiah or an apostle or prophet, but just by ... some guy!)
