George: [On getting the M.B.E.]
'After all we did for Great Britain, selling all that corduroy and making it swing, they gave us that bloody old leather medal with wooden string through it. But my initial reaction was, 'Oh, how nice, how nice.' And John's was, 'How nice, how nice.

Principles That Great Teachers Follow Great teachers know that each brain is unique and uniquely organized. Great teachers know that all brains are not equally good at everything. Great teachers know that the brain is a complex, dynamic system and is changed daily by experiences. Great teachers know that learning is a constructivist process, and that the ability to learn continues through developmental stages as an individual matures. Great teachers know that the search for meaning is innate in human nature. Great teachers know that brains have a high degree of plasticity and develop throughout the lifespan. Great teachers know that MBE science principles apply to all ages. Great teachers know that learning is based in part on the brain’s ability to self-correct. Great teachers know that the search for meaning occurs through pattern recognition. Great teachers know that brains seek novelty. Great teachers know that emotions are critical to detecting patterns, to decision-making, and to learning. Great teachers know that learning is enhanced by challenge and inhibited by threat. Great teachers know that human learning involves both focused attention and peripheral perception. Great teachers know that the brain conceptually processes parts and wholes simultaneously. Great teachers know that the brain depends on interactions with other people to make sense of social situations. Great teachers know that feedback is important to learning. Great teachers know that learning relies on memory and attention. Great teachers know that memory systems differ in input and recall. Great teachers know that the brain remembers best when facts and skills are embedded in natural contexts. Great teachers know that learning involves conscious and unconscious processes. Great teachers know that learning engages the entire physiology (the body influences the brain, and the brain controls the body).

Jazzie now has an OBE, and Trevor and Norman an MBE each, but their most vital legacy today is on the streets of London, among the next generation of sound systems, who automatically plugged into how it all worked from a British rather than Jamaican point of view. Most importantly, they could see how far it could go. The coming waves of London black music – latter-day ‘collectives’ like the So Solid Crew, Roll Deep and so on – benefited hugely from this template, using pirate radio, the internet, club nights and dances to operate as self-contained, self-supporting sound systems.

If white privilege means that white people gain advantages due to the success of their ancestors, then white-country privilege means that non-whites gain advantages due to the success of other people’s ancestors. White privilege is a legacy, white-country privilege is theft.

What most people mean when they use the term white privilege is Majority Privilege – the benefits that are on offer because you fit in with the majority and are not seen as an outsider. This privilege is seen in every country around the world. It can be seen when vegans cater a buffet and never consider meat-eaters. Or when Alcoholics Anonymous celebrate a milestone and does not host it in a pub. I would never expect gay men to organise a sex party and invite lesbians. Belonging to a group brings privilege. Belonging to the majority group has Majority Privilege. The answer to the question of why the white race succeeds at a higher rate than non-white races is easy to answer: culture. White-culture Privilege exists. The best thing about it is that it is open to all races of all skin colours. Whites are the biggest supporters of cultural appropriation for we give our culture away to benefit others. For non-white people to be successful all they need to do is accept and embrace cultures that deliver the best outcomes.

Barbary pirates, based in North Africa, captured one and a quarter million white Europeans and sold them as slaves into the Ottoman Empire between the 16th and 19th centuries. This was one of the reasons why the British developed the Royal Navy - to stop slave raiders terrorising our coastal towns. 'Britons will never never be slaves' - is a line from the patriotic song Rule Britannia and is a reference to the fear of the Barbary pirates in coastal towns. Slaves could be purchased in Constantinople, including white slaves, right up to the fall of the empire at the end of WWI in 1918.

The British government compensated slave owners in the British Empire for the loss of private property they had legally owned in the eyes of the law. This may sound disgusting today but the law had to be followed and compensation had to be paid. Twenty million pounds was the cost to the country in the form of a loan. We only finished repaying this loan in 2015. Many British people alive today helped to pay off this loan with their taxes so black Africans could be free - even though they were sold into slavery by their black African neighbours.

As minorities in the UK increase in size and become more confident due to numbers, they will be less inclined to want to change their culture and behaviour to fit in with the indigenous population. The indigenous population will witness the increase and will want to either curtail the numbers or push for cultural assimilation. This will be perceived to be an attack upon the minorities who will seek comfort and protection within their group and culture. This is where we are now. Self-defined groups push for their own agenda in a society that is splitting along racial lines and heading towards violence.

The Spiral of Silence Theory relates to an individual's perception of current public opinion which influences their willingness to express their opinion. It claims individuals will be more outward with their opinion when they notice that it is shared throughout a group. But if the individual notices that their opinion is unpopular, they will be more inclined to be reserved and remain silent. The conclusion is that the perception of how others perceive them is more important than the need for their opinion to be heard.

Many children of migrants living in England think that the country is racist, not worth defending, and is not even their real home. But do they leave? No. Do they wish to be deported? No. Do they take every benefit and opportunity this country has to offer? Yes. Are they grateful? No. Do they understand why their parents came to this country in the first place? No – and this is the crux of the problem. They compare England to an imaginary version of their ancestral homeland, and unsurprisingly, England does not match up to this non-existent utopia.

We tolerate those who do not speak English so they do not bother to learn the language. We tolerate religious animal slaughter so they continue to inflict unnecessary animal suffering. We tolerate gender separation so they continue to treat women as second-class citizens. We are now in a position where we tolerate those who wish to kill us and destroy our country. I am not being hyperbolic or exaggerating. During the Islamic State takeover of Syria a decade ago, we had more British Muslims fighting for this terrorist organisation that wanted to destroy the West than we had serving in the British Army.
