Let me say that again, if you don't completely and totally surrender every plan, every idea, every thought, every frustration, every person at the feet of Jesus, then you won't see the plans that He truly has for you. Why? Because you're lukewarm. You have one foot in the world and one foot in His kingdom.

Salvation is a lifestyle of waking up and choosing God every single day of your life. As you CHOOSE to live for Him, He leads and guides your life. That leading and guiding includes cutting off bad relationships, lifestyles, addictions and anything that is hindering your fellowship with Him. If we say that we love God, then our lives must show it.

I started respecting and honoring Cornelius early on in our relationship. I actually studied him. I encourage wives and future wives to study their husbands. Each season in your life is truly prepping you for the next so you have to let God prep you. Let Him burn out of you the things that aren't like Him! We must learn to trust Him through this journey.

When you have a relationship with Jesus Christ and you KNOW He has your back, you wake up with JOY. And if you wake up lacking joy, you stir yourself up in the Lord until you remember that all this mess here on this earth is temporary and these tests and trials are preparing you to look more like Jesus. I like to sing worship music when I sense Satan trying to attack me. We have to stop looking to events and our circumstances to find joy.

At times, we want to "feel" God. The truth is, we won't always have happy emotions. We won't always feel like loving. We won't always feel like pressing forward but, we can move into our daily journey by remembering that "Be sure of this : I am with you always, even to the end of the age" - (Matthew 28:20 NLT) In those moments where you feel empty or like you've driven miles away from God, we have to remember this powerful promise, " When you go through deep waters, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown" (Isaiah 43:2 NLT). So, you may feel frustrated with God because things aren't going your way and you may have fallen into depression. It's time for you to get back in the car and go back home to our King Jesus. All of your flesh is going to fight you to find something more comfortable but, you must learn to train your flesh to do what the Bible says to do in the midst of tests. Here are a few things that I did when I was fell into this trap.

Did you know God can work with that? He can work with a person who is intentional about living for Him. He can work with someone who repents daily of their sins. He can work with someone who really is trying to change. So, miss "know it all," let go of your control.

You will never, ever find true joy in Christ if you don't literally grab ahold of our thoughts and tell those thoughts that they are going to submit to the Holy God! You have to almost fight with those thoughts sometimes and tell your flesh that it cannot win! Do you even fight back anymore or is it just, "in your head, out of your mouth"-no filter. No saying, "Lord help me"-just a messy attitude.

We as Christians, with forgiving hearts, not only do we not limit the number of times WE forgive; we must continue to forgive with as much grace the thousandth time as we did the first time. WE are only capable of this type of forgiving spirit because the Spirit of God lives within us, and it is He who provides the ABILITY to offer forgiveness over and over, just as God forgives us over and over. So, it's NO longer in YOUR ability to forgive whoever hurt you! It's in CHRIST'S ABILITY. THIS is why it's important that you spend time with God and make sure that you have His perspective!
