The decision on whether to appeal was a fraught one. I prayed about it a lot. I looked through the Bible for various phrases, without really arriving at a good decision. The important thing was to stand up for what I believed in. If people were going to try to abuse Chris, they were going to have to fight me. They might win, but they’d go away with scars.
