Three young cats with starlight in their eyes and the whisper of ancient wind in their fur." -Rock, Cats of the Clans

DoveWing (talking to LoinBlaze): You got somthing wrong, what you said to ToadStep. You are the hero.
Erin Hunter
Dovewing felt bone-weary from her ears to the tip of her tail. Just because she had better hearing, sharper senses than any cat didn't seem to give her more strength. She needed to rest, eat, talk with Jayfeather and Lionblaze about the challenge that sol had left them with, of hostile Clans that would be crushed by the dark forest if they tried to fight alone. Starclan, light my path, please. "Come on," she meowed to Hollyleaf. "It's time we went home. Our Clnmates are waitning for us" P. 315

Bumblestripe, Lionblaze, Cinderheart, and Purdy bore Mousefur among them, the old she-cat silenced forever, her jaws hanging slightly open as if she had something more to say. Firestar was carried by Sandstorm, Graystripe, Squirrelflight, and Millie. Dovewing heard the gray tabby she-cat murmur, “We were born as kittypets, but look at us now, my precious friend.
Erin Hunter (Dovewing's Silence (Warriors Novellas))
A breeze stirred Dovewing's pelt, as is someone had walked past. She lifted her head an saw two figures standing just beyond her Clanmates. One was a badger with a narrow, striped face, the other a grotesque, hairless cat who's blind, bulging eyes saw nothing but everything. They met her gaze and nodded, just once. "Thank you." Dovewing heard, quieter then a sigh. "There will be three, kin of your kin, who will hold the power of the stars in their paws. They will find a fourth, and the battle between light and dark will be won. A new leader will rise fro the shadows. This s how it always has been, and always will be." -Rock and Midnight, The Last Hope

In the deserted forest, Firestar crouched beside Spottedleaf's trembling body. Blood welled at her neck, soaking Firestar's cheek as he pressed against her. "Spottedleaf! Please don't go". Dovewing heard a sob in his mew. "You promised you'd be there to welcome me". Spottedleaf gave a tiny shake of her head. "That was never going to happen my love. I cannot journey with you anymore. I'm so sorry". Firestar pawed at her. "No! I still need you!" "Let her go" A she-cat shimmered into view, her gray fur long and matted. "Yellowfang?" Firestar looked at her, his green eyes pleading. "Don't let her disappear. Please." "This was her destiny." Yellowfang touched her muzzle to Firestar's head. "Let her follow it." "But she said she'd wait for me in StarClan!" Firestar's mew caught in his throat. Spottedleaf looked up at him and opened her mouth as if she wanted to say something. A small gasp escaped her; then she fell limp. Her fur started to blur, leaving a faint outline and then nothing but bloodstained grass. Firestar's head drooped.

Foxleap, no! Not now! I’ve done everything I could! Oh StarClan, why can’t you let me help these cats?
Erin Hunter (Dovewing's Silence (Warriors Novellas))
Rowankit was the sweetest of all my kits,” Dovewing was saying, her voice hoarse. “While his littermate was eager to play, eager to explore the camp, Rowankit was always content to be snuggled up to my belly.” Dovewing blinked. “I know I’ll still reach for him in my sleep. I just can’t believe he’s gone.
Erin Hunter (Warriors: A Starless Clan #2: Sky)
Dovepaw made a mess of the hunting, true. But she ran to help a Clanmate in trouble when she had no idea what danger she would have to face on the other side of that bramble thicket. And when we couldn't get Icecloud out of the hole, she was quick to volunteer to be lowered down to help her, even though no cat really knew what might have been down there.
Erin Hunter (Sign of the Moon (Warriors: Omen of the Stars, #4))
All battles leave deep wounds, whether you can see them or not. And wounds take time to heal. You know that, Dovewing. Don’t give up hope.
Erin Hunter (Dovewing's Silence (Warriors Novellas, #6))
Forgiveness is far more powerful than hatred and suspicion. United, we are as strong as we ever were. Divided, we will fall.
Erin Hunter (Dovewing's Silence (Warriors Novellas))
Small warrior, many dangers there are in a world when you are blind and deaf. But eyes and ears you have still. Use them as your Clanmates do. Weaker than them you will never be.
Erin Hunter (Dovewing's Silence (Warriors Novellas))
Wait!” Dovewing panted, pebbles spraying out behind. Bumblestripe eased his pace enough for her to catch up. “What?” he growled. “Look.” Dovewing tried to catch her breath but Bumblestripe was still running hard. “I’m sorry I snapped.” Bumblestripe turned his head to look at her, his gaze hard as ice. “I’m tired of being used as your scratching post,” he hissed. “From now on sharpen your claws on someone else.” Dovewing’s pelt pricked. “It’s not my fault!” “I get it, okay?” He didn’t even look at her. He just kept running. “You don’t like me the same way I like you. I’ll get over it. I’m just disappointed you’re not the cat I thought you were.

dragging the trap attached to its leg. Dovewing leaped at it, claws out, and landed on its neck as the fox’s jaws snapped down toward her sister. Below, Thornclaw and Birchfall launched themselves at the creature’s haunches while Blossomfall and Mousewhisker

Dovewing and Ivypool went over to join him and began to scoop up the earth.

Perhaps that’s the best way to recover, to return to the way things were before as quickly as we can. We won the Great Battle, so nothing needs to change.

Erin Hunter (The Forgotten Warrior (Warriors: Omen of the Stars #5))
At least ThunderClan has the three cats mentioned in the prophecy, Jayfeather thought. There will be three, kin of your kin, with the power of the stars in their paws. Me, Lionblaze, and Dovewing, all in the same Clan. That must make us safer, right?
Erin Hunter (The Forgotten Warrior (Warriors: Omen of the Stars #5))
We were born as kittypets, but look at us now, my precious friend.
Erin Hunter (Dovewing's Silence (Warriors Novellas))
He could keep the love of his father or he could save his Clan. What choice was that? Was this what he’d abandoned Dovewing and his kits for?
Erin Hunter (Tigerheart's Shadow (Warriors Super Edition, #10))
Tigerheart’s lungs burned. As panic lit every hair on fire, he opened his eyes. He was beside the pond once more. Darkness was creeping across the grass, swallowing the meadows around him. Gulping for air, he tried to draw in a shuddering breath. Pain clamped his chest. “I can’t breathe,” he gasped. Dovewing crouched beside him, fear sharpening her green gaze. Ant and Cinnamon stared in horror. Cloverfoot, Rippletail, and Sparrowtail watched with dark, round eyes while Berryheart tried to shield her kits. “ShadowClan.” Tigerheart felt darkness pressing at the edges of his thoughts. Rowanstar was dead. So much was left undone. “ShadowClan must survive.” He stared desperately at Rippletail. “You have to save it.” Dovewing trembled, pressing her flank against his. “Don’t die,” she whimpered. “Please don’t die.” Shadowkit buried his nose in Tigerheart’s fur. Pouncekit and Lightkit clung to his neck. “Take the kits to ThunderClan.” Tigerheart breathed the words and could not draw in air for more. I always loved you. Peace flooded him. Pain melted. Dovewing. He regretted nothing except that he would never see his kits grow into warriors. I’ll watch them from StarClan. Like a warrior releasing prey, he let go his grip and allowed darkness to swallow him.

CHAPTER 6 Dovewing
Erin Hunter (Sign of the Moon (Warriors: Omen of the Stars #4))
Can you guide Jayfeather?” he asked her. “Sure.” “I can guide myself, thanks,” Jayfeather cut in with a snort. “No, you can’t.” Bramblestar stood over the scrawny medicine cat. “Jayfeather, there may be a time when it helps for you to be an uncooperative furball, but this isn’t it. The whole forest has changed because of the wind. There are fallen trees, branches scattered everywhere . . . Just let Dovewing help you, and put up with it.” Jayfeather sighed. “Yes, O great Clan leader.

Erin Hunter (Midnight (Warriors: The New Prophecy, #1))
Tigerheart: I love you, Dovewing. I will always love you. Twigpaw: Perhaps it was nothing. Perhaps they were just friends.
Erin Hunter (Darkest Night (Warriors: A Vision of Shadows, #4))
Ivypool was watching Tigerheart and Dovewing, where they were sitting together, and she looked both irritated and anxious.
Erin Hunter (Shattered Sky (Warriors: A Vision of Shadows, #3))
Shadowpaw craned his neck over his back, straining to groom the hard-to-reach spot at the base of his tail. He had just managed to give his fur a few vigorous licks when he heard paw steps approaching. He looked up to see his father, Tiger star, and his mother, Dovewing, their pelts brushing as they gazed down at him with pride and joy shining in their eyes. “What is it?” he asked, sitting up and giving his pelt a shake. “We just came to see you off,” Tiger star responded, while Dovewing gave her son’s ears a quick, affectionate lick. Shadowpaw’s fur prickled with embarrassment. Like I haven’t been to the Moonpool before, he thought. They’re still treating me as if I’m a kit in the nursery! He was sure that his parents hadn’t made such a fuss when his littermates, Pouncestep and Lightleap, had been warrior apprentices. I guess it’s because I’m going to be a medicine cat.
Erin Hunter (Bravelands: The Spirit-Eaters (Bravelands, #5))
. . . Or maybe because of the seizures he’d had since he was a kit. He knew his parents still worried about him, even though it had been a while since his last upsetting vision. They’re probably hoping that with some training from the other medicine cats, I’ll learn to control my visions once and for all . . . and I can be normal. Shadowpaw wanted that, too. “The snow must be really deep up on the moors,” Dovewing mewed. “Make sure you watch where you’re putting your paws.” Shadowpaw wriggled his shoulders, praying that none of his Clanmates were listening. “I will,” he promised, glancing toward the medicine cats’ den in the hope of seeing his mentor, Puddleshine, emerge. But there was no sign of him yet. To his relief, Tiger star gave Dovewing a nudge and they both moved off toward the Clan leader’s den. Shadowpaw rubbed one paw hastily across his face and bounded across the camp to see what was keeping Puddleshine. Intent on finding his mentor, Shadowpaw barely noticed the patrol trekking toward the fresh-kill pile, prey dangling from their jaws. He skidded to a halt just in time to avoid colliding with Cloverfoot, the Clan deputy. “Shadowpaw!” she exclaimed around the shrew she was carrying. “You nearly knocked me off my paws.” “Sorry, Cloverfoot,” Shadowpaw meowed, dipping his head respectfully. Cloverfoot let out a snort, half annoyed, half amused. “Apprentices!” Shadowpaw tried to hide his irritation. He was an apprentice, yes, but an old one—medicine cat apprentices’ training lasted longer than warriors’. His littermates were full warriors already. But he knew his parents would want him to respect the deputy. Cloverfoot padded on, followed by Strikestone, Yarrowleaf, and Blazefire. Though they were all carrying prey, they had only one or two pieces each, and what little they had managed to catch was undersized and scrawny. “I can’t remember a leaf-bare as cold as this,” Yarrowleaf complained as she dropped a blackbird on the fresh-kill pile. Strikestone nodded, shivering as he fluffed out his brown tabby pelt. “No wonder there’s no prey. They’re all hiding down their holes, and I can’t blame them.” As Shadowpaw moved on, out of earshot, he couldn’t help noticing how pitifully small the fresh-kill pile was, and he tried to ignore his own growling belly. He could hardly remember his first leaf-bare, when he’d been a tiny kit, so he didn’t know if the older cats were right and the weather was unusually cold. I only know I don’t like it, he grumbled to himself as he picked his way through the icy slush that covered the ground of the camp. My paws are so cold I think they’ll drop off. I can’t wait for newleaf!
Erin Hunter (Bravelands: The Spirit-Eaters (Bravelands, #5))
Medicine cat, wise you are, and such you know. Care for your Clanmates you can without walking in their thoughts and dreams. Let those hidden be from your sight.” Midnight reached Dovewing, and she felt a blast of stinking breath around her muzzle. “Small warrior, many dangers there are in a world when you are blind and deaf. But eyes and ears you have still. Use them as your Clanmates do.
Erin Hunter (Dovewing's Silence (Warriors Novellas))
This feels like WindClan territory,” Foxleap grumbled. “I don’t like it.” Dovewing murmured agreement.
Erin Hunter (Sign of the Moon (Warriors: Omen of the Stars #4))
The Dark Forest will win if we do not forgive those cats who were once their allies. Forgiveness is far more powerful than hatred and suspicion. United, we are as strong as we ever were. Divided, we will fall. Remember that the Dark Forest is still out there, ready to prey on our dreams. Hostility and distrust among us will give them more force than they deserve. Do you want that?
Erin Hunter (Dovewing's Silence (Warriors Novellas))
Graystripe padded toward Dovewing. Sympathy filled his warm amber gaze. “They must be very handsome,” he meowed softly.
Erin Hunter (The Raging Storm (Warriors: A Vision of Shadows, #6))
Just a difference of opinion,” Berrynose meowed.
Erin Hunter (Dovewing's Silence (Warriors Novellas))
Thanks for catching me!” she purred. “I’d have looked dumber than a sheep if I’d landed on my muzzle!” “I’ll always be here to catch you,” Bumblestripe murmured.
Erin Hunter (Dovewing's Silence (Warriors Novellas))
I’m alive, aren’t I? Thanks to Hollyleaf.” Ivypool traced her muzzle over Hollyleaf’s back. “If it hadn’t been for her, Hawkfrost would have killed me. Hollyleaf gave her life for mine!” Dovewing winced at the tremor in Ivypool’s voice.
Erin Hunter (Dovewing's Silence (Warriors Novellas))
Firestar was carried by Sandstorm, Graystripe, Squirrelflight, and Millie. Dovewing heard the gray tabby she-cat murmur, “We were born as kittypets, but look at us now, my precious friend.
Erin Hunter (Dovewing's Silence (Warriors Novellas))
If this barrier doesn’t soften up soon, we’re all going to be bald!” muttered Graystripe.
Erin Hunter (Dovewing's Silence (Warriors Novellas))
Firestar,” Sandstorm hissed. She walked over and stood between Firestar and his Clan. “This is your last life.” Dovewing heard her whisper fiercely. “You can’t risk losing it now. Your Clan needs you.” “They need me to fight,” Firestar replied. “But what will they do if you’re killed?” “They’ll fight harder.” Firestar’s green eyes glowed. “My warriors have only one life, and they are willing to give it up for their Clanmates. I’m no different. My place is beside them.” Sandstorm pressed her cheek against Firestar’s. “I love you,” she breathed. “I love you too,” Firestar murmured.
Erin Hunter (The Last Hope (Warriors:Omen of the Stars #6))
The battle is over. Our victory belongs to Firestar!” The rain eased as he spoke and a shaft of moonlight sliced through the clouds and lit up the unmoving orange body. There was a faint noise at the camp entrance and Dovewing looked up to see a StarClan warrior glimmering beneath the ragged thorns, her blue eyes glowing like circles of sky.
