When we dedicate ourselves to a plan and it isn’t going as we hoped, our first instinct isn’t usually to rethink it. Instead, we tend to double down and sink more resources in the plan. This pattern is called escalation of commitment. Evidence shows that entrepreneurs persist with failing strategies when they should pivot, NBA general managers and coaches keep investing in new contracts and more playing time for draft busts, and politicians continue sending soldiers to wars that didn’t need to be fought in the first place.

I truly believe that success is determined not on Friday nights during games but rather in practice away from the lights and glimmer where coaches and players only have each other, their sweat, their discipline and their loyalty to each other. If you talk to these extraordinary people, you find that they all understand this at one level or another. They may be unfamiliar with the concept of cognitive adaptability, but they seldom buy into the idea that they have reached the peak of their fields because they were the lucky winners of some genetic lottery. They know what is required to develop the extraordinary skills that they possess because they have experienced it firsthand. One of my favorite testimonies on this topic came from Ray Allen, a ten-time All-Star in the National Basketball Association and the greatest three-point shooter in the history of that league. Some years back, ESPN columnist Jackie MacMullan wrote an article about Allen as he was approaching his record for most three-point shots made. In talking with Allen for that story, MacMullan mentioned that another basketball commentator had said that Allen was born with a shooting touch—in other words, an innate gift for three-pointers. Allen did not agree. “I’ve argued this with a lot of people in my life,” he told MacMullan. “When people say God blessed me with a beautiful jump shot, it really pisses me off. I tell those people, ‘Don’t undermine the work I’ve put in every day.’ Not some days. Every day. Ask anyone who has been on a team with me who shoots the most. Go back to Seattle and Milwaukee, and ask them. The answer is me.” And, indeed, as MacMullan noted, if you talk to Allen’s high school basketball coach you will find that Allen’s jump shot was not noticeably better than his teammates’ jump shots back then; in fact, it was poor. But Allen took control, and over time, with hard work and dedication, he transformed his jump shot into one so graceful and natural that people assumed he was born with it. He took advantage of his gift—his real gift. ABOUT

During this time my father was in a labor camp, for the crime of wanting to leave the country, and my mother struggled to care for us, alone and with few provisions. One day she went out to the back patio to do the wash and saw a cute little frog sitting by the door to the kitchen. My mother has always liked frogs, and this frog by the kitchen door gave her an idea. She began to spin wonderful stories about a crazy, adventurous frog named Antonica who would overcome great odds with her daring and creativity. Antonica helped us dream of freedom and possibilities. These exciting tales were reserved for mealtime. We ate until our bowls were empty, distracted from the bland food by the flavor of Antonica’s world. Mamina knew her children were well nourished, comforted, and prepared for the challenges and adventures to come. In 2007, I was preparing to host a TV show on a local station and was struggling with self-doubt. With encouragement and coaching from a friend, I finally realized that I had been preparing for this opportunity most of my life. All I needed was confidence in myself, the kind of confidence Antonica had taught me about, way back in Cuba. Through this process of self-discovery, the idea came to me to start cooking with my mother. We all loved my Mamina’s cooking, but I had never been interested in learning to cook like her. I began to write down her recipes and take pictures of her delicious food. I also started to write down the stories I had heard from my parents, of our lives in Cuba and coming to the United States. At some point I realized I had ninety recipes. This is a significant number to Cuban exiles, as there are ninety miles between Cuba and Key West, Florida. A relatively short distance, but oh, so far! My effort to grow closer to my mother through cooking became another dream waiting to be fulfilled, through a book called 90 Miles 90 Recipes: My Journey to Understanding. My mother now seemed as significant as our journey to the United States. While learning how she orchestrated these flavors, I began to understand my mother as a woman with many gifts. Through cooking together, my appreciation for her has grown. I’ve come to realize why feeding everyone was so important to her. Nourishing the body is part of nurturing the soul. My mother is doing very poorly now. Most of my time in the last few months has been dedicated to caring for her. Though our book has not yet been published, it has already proven valuable. It has taught me about dreams from a different perspective—helping me recognize that the lives my sisters and I enjoy are the realization of my parents’ dream of freedom and opportunity for them, and especially for us.

Habits: People like to imagine that they will "rise to the occasion." They taught us in the Teams that people rarely do. What happens, in fact is that when things get really hard and people are really afraid, they sink to the level of their training. You train your habits. And if a critical moment does come, all can be is ready for it...By relying on habits, we free our minds to focus on what matter most...We should be, in part, beginners for our entire lives. Beginning anew refreshes the habit of learning...if every few years we dedicate a part of ourselves toa new endeavor, we find that we are mined of how we grow, we are reminded that we can grow, and we are reminded of how we profit from growth. Or, we decay...To learn resilience, children must be exposed to hardship. If they haven't built a habit of resilience and earned some self-respect by then, the adult pain they meet probably won't strengthen them. It will likely overwhelm them...There's one sure way to build self-respect: through achievement. A child who learns to tie her own shoe grows in confidence...Self-respect isn't something a teacher or a coach or a government can hand you. Self-respect grows through self-centered success: not because we been told we're good, but when we know we're good...In trying to protect too much, kind people can inflict great cruelty...Resilience - the willingness and ability to endure hardship and become better by it - is a habit that sinks its roots in the soil of security. The child who is always protected from harm will never be resilient. At the same time, the child who is never loved will rarely be resilient...you don't have to serve your habits. Your habits can serve you. They can strengthen and reinforce the kind of person you want to become. You have power over your habits. That also means you're responsible for your habits.

Cultural Diplomacy—and an Accolade Among Piazzolla’s tasks during his first summer at the Chalet El Casco was the composition of “Le Grand Tango,” a ten-minute piece for cello and piano commissioned by Efraín Paesky, Director of the OAS Division of Arts, and dedicated to Mstislav Rostropovich, to whom Piazzolla sent the score. Rostropovich had not heard of Piazzolla at the time and did not look seriously at the music for several years.7 Written in ternary form, the work bears all Piazzolla’s hallmarks: tight construction, strong accents, harmonic tensions, rhythmic complexity and melodic inspiration, all apparent from the fierce cello scrapes at the beginning. Piazzolla uses intervals not frequently visited on the cello fingerboard. Its largely tender mood, notably on display in the cello’s snaking melodic line in the reflective middle section, becomes more profoundly complex in its emotional range toward the end. With its intricate juxtapositions of driving rhythms and heart-rending tags of tune, it is just about the most exciting music Piazzolla ever wrote, a masterpiece. Piazzolla was eager for Rostropovich to play it, but the chance did not come for eight years. Rostropovich, having looked at the music, and “astounded by the great talent of Astor,” decided he would include it in a concert. He made some changes in the cello part and wanted Piazzolla to hear them before he played the piece. Accordingly, in April 1990, he rehearsed it with Argentine pianist Susana Mendelievich in a room at the Teatro Colón, and Piazzolla gently coached the maestro in tango style—”Yes, tan-go, tan-go, tan-go.” The two men took an instant liking to one another.8 It was, says Mendelievich, “as if Rostropovich had played tangos all his life.” “Le Grand Tango” had its world premiere in New Orleans on April 24, 1990. Sarah Wolfensohn was the pianist. Three days later, they both played this piece again at the Gusman Cultural Center in Miami. [NOTE C] Rostropovich performed “Le Grand Tango” at the Teatro Colón, Buenos Aires, in July 1994; the pianist was Lambert Orkis. More recently, cellist Yo-Yo Ma has described “Le Grand Tango” as one of his “favorite pieces of music,” praising its “inextricable rhythmic sense...total freedom, passion, ecstasy.

Holding a powerful healing space for clients is a sacred spiritual experience.
I’ve heard so many horror stories of vulnerable souls being thoroughly let down by the practitioner/therapist/coach in who they have invested to facilitate their healing.
In these situations, what happens is quite devastating for the client.
*They feel that they need to minimalise their trauma to make those around them feel more comfortable.
*They don’t feel safe expressing the depths of their experience in case they upset those around them.
*They bury their experience which is so detrimental to their evolution and healing.
*They feel the need to comfort the person who is supposed to be holding and healing them.
*Please go to someone who has been recommended.
*Go to someone who is qualified in academics, experience, and results.
*Go to someone who puts the duty of care for the client above all else, even if that means referring them on.
*Go to someone who understands generational trauma and who is equipped to be fully present with you and who is dedicated to your healing.
Finding the right people is essential to your healing.
You deserve it all. ♥️

It was hard to invest in a person when one saw how things passed. Take the ball player, for example, who dedicates his life, gets injured, and then watches the sport proceed without him. He sits on his leather couch, watching better athletes run across his television screen, younger ones on renovated fields. And he, who sacrificed his sweat, youth, and sanity to the sport and knew coaches, teammates, and even janitors at the stadium like brothers—is forced to still live afterward. His teammates said kind words before a match, hugged him after a goal, but now seem to be focused on new seasons and new goals. He gets left behind. Did none of it mean anything? He cries for the fast world to stop and says, “Slow down. This pains me. We were just here. I used to joke with you. We said we loved each other. Wait for me. Will you just wait for me?” Those hands he shook after a victory could not care for the weeping, broken-footed man hiding in the shadows of his home, once lit by the sun, once the life of the party.
When Andrei walked into a job now, or even met someone for the first time, he thought: How long will it take you to forget me?

Learning planning Once goals have been set, we need to focus our attention on the means of achieving them. We must align the two or three hours’ a week class time with the students’ personal goals as much as possible, of course, but not to the detriment of the 100 plus remaining hours of waking time which could potentially be directed towards practising English. As teachers, then, we need to think about learning planning, not just lesson planning. By dedicating just 2 or 3 per cent more waking time to English, students can effectively double their English language life! Any impact this has will be far greater than just having a successful lesson. So what can teachers do to help make this happen? With just a few sessions devoted to learning planning early on in a course of study, followed up with occasional check-ups, students can set off on a path to much greater success than relying on the lessons alone. Lesson time well spent!

You show me any athlete at any level who gives maximum effort, and I will show you a player who will excel. It is not a matter of talent. It’s not a question of where you went in the draft. The question is do you have the heart of a champion? And at the heart of every champion I have ever coached is a dedicated effort to be the absolute best you can be. Results are important. But results don’t define who you are as a man. Success is not being a first-round draft pick. Success is using your God-given ability to give maximum effort every day—whether you’re in the NFL, teach school, or work construction.

When I started out as a coach, I never thought for a second that there would ever be so much written or so much said about my work. I had always been driven, but by a love of the game and a sense of responsibility to the teams I coached, not by ambition.
I was going to be a gym teacher, and Bill was going to be a gym teacher, too. We were going to have a white picket fence and two children and a dog, and live happily ever after. That's a pretty decent level for us, I thought - more than what our parents had had, for sure, and enough to make them proud.
The rest of this - well, who would have guessed?

I’ve been on the edge since I woke up this morning with a hangover sent directly from the pits of hell, so the last thing I need right now is more grief from Coach Aubrey Brady. I focus on suppressing my annoyance, like I do every training session when she makes it her mission to push me to my limits. Rationalizing it’s her dedication that makes her such a successful coach, I decide throwing my ice skates at her is something that should stay in my imagination. “You’re being sloppy, Stas!” she yells as we fly straight past her. “Sloppy girls don’t get medals!” What did I say about not throwing skates at her?

Since childhood, I was taught to chase success and succeed but I never got an answer to myself what if I fail in succeeding?
Then a point in my life changed everything and there was a realization and inspiration from within that success without failure is like buying something for yourself in consideration of money which you could have simply earned by hard work and dedication over the period of time.
Failure is the first step of success and the last step itself is a success. Until you fail in something you don't know how vulnerable you are, your strength and weaknesses are.
Failure comes to teach you, your greater purpose and it gives you your greatest gift.
What's that gift? It's real YOU it delivers which otherwise you wouldn't know up until you shut your doors, burn your boats and stand for yourself and dreams.
And in pursuit of yourself, you should not chase success but rather you should chase a higher purpose which will make success a byproduct of a higher purpose.
Success is the finished product of failures.

Life is given to all of us and everything that you want to become depends now on your preparation, hard work, and dedication.
Only if you are willing to put yourself in process of grinding, hustle, and hard work then there will be a point in life where the opportunity KNOCKS on your door to give you a chance.
A chance you always waited for and an opportunity you always wanted to have for yourself so you take yourself on to the path of greatness.
You are close to success and succeeding in yourself only when you take charge, take action and make decisions for yourself.
No one in this world has become great just by doing average things and being average.
The people who go the extra mile, extra effort, and that extra one thing in their life makes them successful and lets them avail themselves of the opportunity that knocks on the door. If you are blind to yourself then you can't see opportunities.
You are one opportunity away from success and the life you are dreaming but the question is, are you prepared?

Step Four: Ideal-Week Planning Now you need to take your “only I can do” list and actually plot out how you will get all these things done. I hope your to-do list is shorter than when you picked up this book. If so, that reduction is a massive win in itself. The goal is to schedule all these things out. Literally, go through the list, plot each item into your calendar, and create an automated repeating appointment so it shows up in your calendar on a weekly basis. For example, if only you can write a weekly blog post and you know you need about three hours to write and publish a post, create a three-hour appointment in your calendar from ten to one o’clock on Mondays, for example, and then make it a recurring appointment. The same process can be followed for child-related activities. If you are the person who primarily picks up your kids from school, put an appointment in your calendar for the amount of time it takes to drive or walk to the school, pick them up, and return home. Repeat this task for all the activities you have on the only-you list. Once you’ve entered these activities, you may be thinking, Okay, Lisa, that’s great, but I have now run out of time. So what happens if you actually block everything in and you run out of hours in the week? If I were sitting across from you in a private coaching session, this is what I would ask: •Are all the activities in your calendar truly things only you can do? Is there anything that could be delegated to someone else? •Can any of these activities be batched with something else? For example, could you do research for a blog post on your phone while you run on the treadmill? Can you do phone calls on your commute home or while grocery shopping for your family? •Is everything in your calendar actually aligned with your ideal life plan? Is there anything on the list that is no longer supporting this plan? Be honest with yourself about things that need to go—even if you are having a hard time letting go. •Can you reduce the amount of time it takes to do an activity? This might seem like an incredibly overwhelming exercise, but trust me, it is an incredibly worthwhile exercise. It might seem rigid to schedule everything in your life, but scheduling brings the freedom not to worry about how you are spending your time. You have thought it through, and you know that every worthwhile activity has been accounted for. This system, my friend, is the cure to mom guilt. When you know you have appropriately scheduled dedicated time for your children, your spouse, yourself, and your work, what do you have to feel guilty about?

I never thought I’d be telling this story, but as Sarah Johnson’s ex-lover, I’ve had a front-row seat to the challenges she faced. Sarah, a personal trainer based in London, had always been someone who took her fitness seriously. Not only was she dedicated to staying in top shape, but she was also passionate about helping others achieve their fitness goals. Her commitment to her own physical health and well-being was part of what made her so successful as a trainer. When Sarah decided to expand her business by launching an online fitness equipment store, I could see how excited she was about the opportunity to reach more people. It was a natural progression for her—she wanted to provide quality fitness gear to help others maintain their health and keep in shape just like she did. Unfortunately, things took a turn for the worse when she became a victim of an online scam. Sarah had ordered £8,000 worth of fitness equipment from a company that appeared legitimate. She had done her research and was confident in her purchase. However, weeks passed, and no equipment ever arrived. The company’s website went offline, their phone number was disconnected, and all email correspondence was ignored. It became clear that she had been scammed, and her £8,000 investment seemed lost forever. I could see how devastated Sarah was, not just financially, but emotionally as well. She’d been putting so much energy into growing her business, all while maintaining her own physical health. Losing that money felt like a setback in every sense. But Sarah, ever resilient, wasn’t ready to give up. That’s when she turned to RAPID DIGITAL RECOVERY. After hearing about their success stories, Sarah reached out, hoping they could help. RAPID DIGITAL RECOVERY quickly got to work, using advanced tools and methods to track down the scammers. Within weeks, Sarah received incredible news: RAPID DIGITAL RECOVERY had managed to recover £7,500 of her lost £8,000. Seeing Sarah’s relief and joy was something I’ll never forget. How can I call Southwest to secure cheap flight tickets quickly?[(888)742-1241]
Ready to secure your cheap flight tickets quickly? Contact Southwest at [+1(888).742-1241] for fast booking and low fares.
When you need to secure cheap flight tickets quickly, calling Southwest’s dedicated booking line at [+1(888).742-1241] is your fastest route to savings. Our USA-based reservation experts at +1 (838)280 7430 specialize in fast-track assistance—locating and locking in the lowest fares across Southwest’s domestic network in real time.
Upon dialing, you’ll immediately share your travel details—preferred dates, departure and arrival airports, and number of passengers. Agents then tap into Southwest’s live fare engine and Low Fare Calendar to compare Wanna Get Away, Wanna Get Away Plus, Anytime, and Business Select classes. By cross-referencing these options with current promotions and unpublished codes, they pinpoint the cheapest tickets available.
These specialists are trained to expedite bookings: they will apply relevant promo codes, confirm immediate seat availability, and process payment securely within minutes. During the call, agents also outline Southwest’s complimentary two checked bags policy, recommend EarlyBird Check-In to improve boarding position, and guide you to enroll or link your Rapid Rewards account for additional value.
If flexibility is possible, agents consult the flexible date search to reveal savings on adjacent departure or return days. For group or family travel, they coordinate multiple passenger bookings to ensure seats together and handle any special requests—such as pet travel or ADA accommodations—without delay.
Once the itinerary is set, you receive an instant confirmation email with e-ticket details, boarding instructions, and baggage guidelines. Should plans change, Southwest’s no-change-fee policy on qualifying fares allows free rebooking; agents coach you through cancellation or modifications and conversion of fares into travel funds valid one year from purchase.
By calling [+1(888).742-1241] and +1 (838)280 7430, you bypass online wait times and guarantee quick, expert service tailored to urgent booking needs—securing your cheap flight tickets with speed and confidence.
