CV-22 This is one of the two most important acupuncture points to the martial arts that is concerned with the hostile actions of life-or-death combatives. That structure is the commonly referred to the “horseshoe notch” at the base of the throat; Western Anatomy: the jugular arch and a branch of the inferior thyroid artery are superficially represented. The trachea, or windpipe, is found deeper and the posterior aspect of the sternum, the innominate vein and aortic arch are also present; Comments: This point is of particular importance the martial artist as it is the intersection point of the Yin Linking Vessel and the Conception Vessel. It is one of the 36 Vital Points listed in the Bubishi; Location: On the centerline of the head at the slight depression on the upper aspect of the chin; Western Anatomy: Branches of the inferior labial artery and vein are found with a branch of the facial nerve. Comments: The translation of the Chinese term for the point, “Sauce Receptacle,” is illustrative in that if one were to drip sauce from their mouth while eating it would accumulate at this point of their chin. This point is another interesting point for the martial artist. Strikes to this point are generally most effective when aimed downward at a 45-degree angle. A hammerfist strike to this point, with enough force, will not only cause an instant knockout, but can dislocate the jaw.

When you fill your tanden with power and with attention, what physiologic effects can be found?” The first effect he discusses suggests that, when the tanden is filled with energy and pressure, blood previously stored in the liver and the spleen is pushed into the capillaries. The physiological effect is such that one could say that the tanden acts like a secondary heart. Fresh blood, rich in red blood cells, is sent up to the cerebral center through the cervical plexus. As a result, the respiratory center is influenced in such a way that respiration is tranquilized. The second phenomena in this circulation is the neutralizing regulation of adrenaline by the cholinergic nerves of the parasympathetic nervous system when they are stimulated by pressure on the tanden. In short, a new world, completely different from the one in which the body used to breathe with chest and abdomen, comes into being through the pressure applied to the area in and around the tanden. It is indeed a “revolution of the living body.

Halo. The halo is a phenomenal exercise for shoulder and cervical mobility. Many people love the way it makes the shoulders feel and incorporate it in their warm-up and for rehabilitation and prehabilitation purposes. To perform this exercise, hold a light kettlebell by the horns, or sides of the handle, in front of your face using both hands (see figure 7.6a). Circle over and across the top of the head and continue the circle all the way around (see figure 7.6, b and c). The kettlebell drops lower as it comes behind you and rises again as it moves back up in front. Breathe normally throughout the exercise. Work in both directions. KEY PRINCIPLES As the name suggests, keep the path of the kettlebell comparable to a halo around the top of your forehead. Relax the elbows and allow them to articulate freely. Ensure the kettlebell is close to the head, but use caution to avoid accidental contact with the upper extremities.

Burr was in. He enthusiastically sent one of his contraptions back with Langman to his wards, where, in an initial group of 100 women, he strapped one electrode to the lower abdomen above the pubis, and the other either on or alongside the cervix.6 Women whose troubles turned out to be caused by ovarian cysts or other non-cancerous medical issues almost always had a positive reading. Women with malignant tumors, however, showed an electrical “marked negativity” of the cervical region every time.7 Langman confirmed their diagnosis with a pathological examination. Cancerous tissues, it appeared, emitted an unmistakable electrical signature. Langman repeated the technique in about a thousand women to see whether his results stood up. They did: 102 of his patients exhibited the characteristic voltage reversals. When Langman operated on them, he confirmed that 95 of the 102 had cancer.8 Even more remarkably, often the masses had not even progressed to the point where the symptoms would have driven them to visit the doctor, never mind obtain a correct diagnosis. After removing these cancers, the electrical polarity shown on the electrometer would normally flip back to a “healthy” positive indicator—but it did not always. When it stayed negative, Burr and Langman suspected that this indicated that they either hadn’t got it all, or the cells had metastasized. Somewhere in the body, a cancerous mass was still sending its nefarious signals. What struck them as especially strange was that the electrode inside the genital tract did not have to be placed directly on, or even particularly near to, the malignant tissue for the anomaly to be detectable. It was like a distress signal was being sent over distances through the body’s healthy tissue.

Hyperextension in the lower extremities, such as knee hyper extension shown here (see figure 5), not only puts added strain on the opposing musculature, but it also leads to added stress on numerous joints and muscles throughout the trunk, spine, shoulders, and even all the way to the cervical spine and tempermandibular joints. Knee hyper extension can cause the foot arches to flatten, the tibia rotate inward, the pelvis to shift and rotate forward, and cause abnormal spinal curvature and excessive forward head positioning. This habitual standing posture can result in what is referred to as upper and lower cross body syndrome (see figure 6). These poor postural habits lead to shortening, weakness and inhibition of key core stabilizers resulting in misalignment and pain in joints. And, what happens at our base of support, sitting or standing, affects the positioning of the rest of the body.

One common problem caused by postural faults is forward head position, in which the head is sitting forward of the spine. In this posture, for every inch the head moves forward, the weight of the head on the spine increases by an additional 10 pounds. People whose head is sitting 3 inches forward of their shoulders are now supporting 42 pounds of weight, compared to what is typically 12 pounds in aligned posture. This can occur in both sitting and standing postures. It can pull the spine out of alignment, reduce lung capacity inhibiting complete lung aeration, contribute to a sluggish gastrointestinal system, cause tension headaches, and decrease balance. Most devastating is if forward head posture leads to cervical spine instability, as a result of constant strain on the ligaments which stabilize the neck. A stable cervical spine protects the spinal cord and brainstem. The laxer the ligaments, the stronger the muscles must be support the head and neck.

However, strong blows, inflicted in specific areas on the body, can cause a knockout. The most sensitive areas of the body include; lower jaw (l), lateral surface of the neck (carotid area - 2), upper abdomen (near the solar plexus - 3). ). A strong blow, set in the lower jaw, causes the shock of otoliths - the auditory debris in the vestibular apparatus of the ear; this leads to irritation of the vagus nerve and to changes in the cardiovascular system. A boxer who has received such a blow usually falls into a state of inertia for a short time. When the blow is applied to the side of the neck, the cervical sinus irritates. In response to this irritation, cardiac function decreases, blood pressure decreases, breathing becomes slower. With a blow to the upper abdomen (solar plexus), there is a reflex-inhibition of the heart. The main concern of each boxer in a fight should be to protect the most sensitive areas of the body.

Nevertheless, the sister FDA panel, VRBPAC, approved Gardasil—to prevent cervical cancer—without requiring proof that the vaccine prevented any sort of cancer, and despite strong evidence from Merck’s clinical trial that Gardasil could dramatically raise risks of cancer and autoimmunity in some girls.82 ACIP, nevertheless, effectively mandated both jabs. Gardasil would be the most expensive vaccine in history, costing patients $420 for the three-jab series and generating revenues of over $1 billion annually for Merck.83 That year, nine of the thirteen ACIP panel members and their institutions collectively received over $1.6 billion of grant money from NIH and NIAID. Systemic Conflicts of Interest Pharma and Dr. Fauci similarly rig virtually all the critical drug approval panels using this strategy of populating them with PIs who, bound by financial fealty to Pharma and NIAID funders, reliably approve virtually every new drug upon which they deliberate—with or without safety studies. From 1999 to 2000, Government Oversight Committee (GOC) Chairman Republican Congressman Dan Burton investigated the systemic corruption of these panels during two years of intense investigations and hearings. CV-22 Chinese Point name: Tian Tu;9 English translation: “Celestial Chimney;” Special Attributes: this is an Intersection Point of the Yin Linking Vessel and the Conception Vessel. It is listed as a Vital Point in the Bubishi; Location: On the centerline of the body at the center of the suprasternal notch. That structure is the commonly referred to the “horseshoe notch” at the base of the throat; Western Anatomy: the jugular arch and a branch of the inferior thyroid artery are superficially represented. The trachea, or windpipe, is found deeper and the posterior aspect of the sternum, the innominate vein and aortic arch are also present; Comments: This point is of particular importance the martial artist as it is the intersection point of the Yin Linking Vessel and the Conception Vessel. The interrelationship between these two vessels will be covered in detail later in the book. Additionally, the structure of the suprasternal notch is an excellent “touch point” for situations when sight is reduced and you find yourself at extremely close range with your opponent. CV-23 Chinese Point name: Lian Quan;10 English translation: “Ridge Spring;” Special Attributes: Some Traditional Chinese Medicine textbooks state that this location is an intersection point for the Yin Linking Vessel and the Conception Vessel; Location: On the centerline of the throat just above the Adam’s apple; Western Anatomy: the anterior jugular vein, a branch of cutaneous cervical nerve, the hypoglossal nerve, and branch of the glossopharyngeal nerve are present; Comments: Strikes to this point should directly inward, or slightly upward, to bust the structure of the Adam’s apple and disrupt the energy flow to the head. Generally, any strike to the throat area will activate a number of sensitive acupuncture points and attacks the structural weakness of this part of the human body.

Women discharge roughly 35 percent of sperm within 30 minutes of the time of insemination, averaged across all instances of intercourse. If the woman has an orgasm, however, she retains 70 percent of the sperm, ejecting only 30 percent. This 5 percent difference is not large, but if it occurred repeatedly, in woman after woman, generation after generation, it could add up to a large selection pressure over evolutionary time. Lack of an orgasm leads to the ejection of more sperm. This evidence is consistent with the hypothesis that a woman’s orgasm functions to draw the sperm from the vagina into the cervical canal and uterus, increasing the probability of conception (Puts et al., 2012). The number of sperm a woman retains is also linked with whether she is having an affair. Women time their adulterous liaisons in a way that is reproductively detrimental to their husbands. In a nationwide sex survey of 3,679 women in Britain, all women recorded their menstrual cycles as well as the timing of their copulations with their husbands and, if they were having affairs, with their lovers. It turned out that women having affairs time their copulations, most likely unconsciously, to coincide with the point in their menstrual cycle when they were most likely to be ovulating and hence were most likely to conceive (Baker & Bellis, 1995). Furthermore, women who are having affairs are more likely to be orgasmic with their affair partner than with their regular partner (Buss, 2016 b). Other studies find that women are especially likely to experience sexual orgasm with men who are masculine and physically attractive—qualities women typically desire in short-term mating (Puts, Welling, Burriss, & Dawood, 2012).

The over-use of antibiotics is also causing more bacteria to become resistant. Today, 70 percent of microbes held responsible for lung illnesses no longer respond to medications.180 The increase in resistance prompts the pharmaceutical sector to conduct more intensive research for new antibiotics. But the discovery of such molecules is a long, difficult and costly process (about $600 million per molecule).181 For many years, no important new antibiotic has come onto the market. At the same time, increasingly stronger preparations are being introduced, which only leads to the bacteria becoming even more resistant and excreting even more toxins.

If you have a dog who—at least some amount of the time—has to walk on the field leash, you should absolutely make sure that he is fitted with a harness. In general, using a harness instead of a collar is preferable, but if your dog is on a long leash, it is vital. The danger of injury that a dog is exposed to is extremely high when he reaches the end of a leash with fifteen, thirty, or more feet. The entire pressure of the jerk he receives when he hits the end of the line is distributed across the cervical spine, larynx, thyroid, and trachea. You can compare this to the impact of crashing into another car at about 35 mph. Remember: we humans put the seat belt across our chests and don’t wrap it around our necks—and for a good reason. In my opinion, wearing a harness is always more sensible than wearing a collar—in field leash training it is indispensable!

The spine has three parts: lumbar (lower back), thoracic (midback), and cervical (neck) spine.

Subdermal Etonogestrel Implants A subdermal system (Nexplanon) for delivery of etonogestrel is available for long-term reversible contraception. As shown in Table 51.1, Nexplanon is among the most effective contraceptives available. Description Nexplanon consists of a single 4-cm rod that contains 68 mg of etonogestrel, a synthetic progestin. The rod is implanted subdermally in the groove between the biceps and triceps in the nondominant arm. Etonogestrel then diffuses slowly and continuously, providing blood levels sufficient for contraception for 3 years, after which the rod is removed. If continued contraception is desired, a new rod is implanted. While currently FDA approved for 3 years, recent studies have shown that Nexplanon continues to be effective for up to 5 years post insertion. Mechanism of Action Etonogestrel suppresses ovulation and thickens cervical mucus. In addition, it causes the endometrium to become involuted and hence hostile to implantation.

Menstrual fluid contains some blood, but also cervical mucus, vaginal secretions, and bits of the uterine lining (endometrial tissue). Interestingly, two-thirds of your endometrial lining is not shed but is reabsorbed by your body.

Notably, the average age of diagnosis of women with such preinvasive lesions was about twenty years lower than the average age of women with invasive lesions—once again corroborating the long march of carcinogenesis. The Pap smear had, in effect, pushed the clock of cancer detection forward by nearly two decades, and changed the spectrum of cervical cancer from predominantly incurable to predominantly curable.

With the right training, you can predict your pre-ovulation safe days by interpreting your cervical fluid

you track your cervical fluid because it’s the sign of ovulation that occurs before ovulation. Cervical fluid, also called cervical mucus or fertile mucus, is a unique type of vaginal discharge that looks and feels just like raw egg white. It is clear, stretchy, and slippery. You will see it on the toilet paper after you wipe or feel it at your vaginal opening.

Above that is daharakasha. Parakasha means superconscious state. Daharakasha means you have no sense of the body, everything is burnt. Dahara means burnt; in daharakasha you have no worldly sense, you have no body sense. Then comes atmakasha — the soul, the power of God, the Son of God, the children of God. That is your life, sa. That is atmaksha. (Diagram 7)

If our attention remains below the navel center, we get animal quality. If our attention remains above this center, we get divine qualities — because the divine qualities are remaining completely above. You will have to seek God above your dorsal and cervical centers.
