SUGA explains what was behind the lyrics of “Born Singer”: ______I remember in the week after we debuted, Bang Si-Hyuk said, “We should make a record of how we feel right now,” “We should make it into a song.” He said that, as time went by, we wouldn’t remember these emotions. So when we were at the broadcasting station, I wrote down the lyrics on a notepad.

For SUGA, who was beginning to meet a future that had no answer sheet, the AMAs were when his anxiety had fully become reality: ________The gap between the ideal and reality was the hardest. Usually, the ideal is so high, and in most cases, you suffer because reality can’t keep up with it. But we were the opposite. It was like … the ideal was beating up my reality?

I started to try and go with the flow. If I wanted to practice singing, I practiced singing, if I wanted to play a game, I played. When I had nothing on my schedule, I ate if I wanted to, and if I didn’t, I went the whole day without eating. The people who know me are amazed by it. When he was barely 14, he auditioned on one of the most prestigious reality shows in South Korea, known as Superstar K. A show designed to find raw talent in the Korean music industry. The show achieved just that with the discovery of Jungkook. Interestingly, Jungkook did not win the show; neither was he part of the individuals who were selected. But his difference was evident to most of the individuals in the room, and before the show was over, he had received more than seven offers from seven different entertainment companies. The decision he made appeared to be the best decision he made all his life. He chose Big Hit Entertainment and started a 36-month training program with them.  Years later, he was quoted to have said that his present bandmate, Rap Monster, in the label was what influenced his decision.
