Whenever I listen to an artist or an art historian I'm struck by how much they see and how much they know--and how much I don't. Good art writing should therefore do at least two things. It should teach us how to look: at art, architecture, sculpture, photography and all the other visual components of our daily landscape. And it should give us the information we need to understand what we're looking at.

Fine arts are are considered as seven sisters named as, Music, Sculpture, Literature , Drama, Architecture & Cinema. However in this digital age , another fine art is to be considered.To-day all seven fine art forms depend on photography for promotion, communication, documentation and survival. Photography should be called the eighth Fine Art.

All writing is essentially autobiographical because our composed thought patterns reflect our accumulated life experiences. At some level, every type of work, whether it is literature, poetry, music, painting, photography, sculpture, or architecture, is always a portrait of the creator. We cannot escape ourselves any more than we can outrun our shadow.

Technology is transforming nearly every sector of our lives. Music, books, retailing, communication, news, photography, medicine, architecture, etc. etc. etc. have changed drastically, have become more efficient, and we all expect that those changes, improvements, and progress will continue. Education cannot sit in this customized world as an island, embracing the Industrial Age, and expect to survive.

As time goes by, I find myself more and more interested in theatrical prose: in the prose of cinematography, photography, architecture, music, contemplation, poetry, diaries, and letters, the prose of silence. I think that, perhaps, by these stylistic coordinates is how someone might talk, in the most holistic way possible, about the internal and external dismantling of our lives, about all those mechanisms of loss that define us.

It was held that the six great arts – visual art (including architecture and photography), drama, dance, music, film and literature – form a family of related, if largely autonomous, practices: they all work through the aesthetic, all address the imagination, and all are concerned with the symbolic embodiment of human meaning.

The Oasis compound was a fortress and an encampment for high Turkish army officials, long ago. Built around the late 1600s, it became a command post for the Ottoman Empire, hence, the beautifully ornate Moorish mosaic inlays around the Bahriji buildings. Since photography of the school was not allowed, I can only describe the school's marvelous historical architecture by reference to other structures that vaguely resembled the school’s architectural splendor.

Most of my passions have been art-focused. Sculpting, architecture, photography, but painting is my favorite. There’s something satisfying about the act of applying paint to canvas and creating something out of nothing. Taking an image out of my brain and immortalizing it.

And to be clear, art in this context isn’t just something visual hanging on the walls. It imbues all parts of our life, from fashion and decor to design and architecture (and I would happily argue even food).[*] Art is poetry and spoken word, theater and music. It is film and photography and dance. It is a perfect pillow of agnolotti on a pool of tomato cream. Borrowing Tolstoy’s definition, art is anything that communicates emotion.

Architectural photography can involve a lot of waiting; the building becomes a kind of sundial, while you wait for a shadow to crawl away from a detail you want, or for the mass and balance of the structure to reveal itself in a certain way.
