If you don't build your dream, someone else will hire you to help them build theirs.

Nobody is a permanent friend, nobody is a permanent enemy. Everybody has his own self-interest. Once you recognise that, everybody will be better off.

We can't change our rulers, but we can least teach them how to rule us.
Dhirubhai Ambani
A small portion of our population, over the past two decades, has been chanting incessantly for increased privatization of the material resources of the community, and some of them even doubt whether the goals of equality and social justice are capable of being addressed directly. They argue that economic growth will eventually trickle down and lift everyone up. For those at the bottom of the economic and social pyramid, it appears that the nation has forsaken those goals as unattainable at best and unworthy at worst. The neo-liberal agenda has increasingly eviscerated the state of stature and power, bringing vast benefits to the few, modest benefits for some, while leaving everybody else, the majority, behind… .
Paranjoy Guha Thakurta (Gas Wars: Crony Capitalism and the Ambanis)
I stood outside Antilla for a long time watching the sun go down. I imagined that the tower was as deep as it was high. That it had a twenty-seven-story-long tap root, snaking around below the ground, hungrily sucking sustenance out of the earth, turning it into smoke and gold. Why did the Ambanis choose to call their building Antilla? Antilla is the name of a set of mythical islands whose story dates back to an eighth-century Iberian legend. When the Muslims conquered Hispania, six Christian Visigothic bishops and their parishioners boarded ships and fled. After days, or maybe weeks, at sea, they arrived at the isles of Antilla, where they decided to settle and raise a new civilization. They burned their boats to permanently sever their links to their barbarian-dominated homeland. By calling their tower Antilla, do the Ambanis hope to sever their links to the poverty and squalor of their homeland and raise a new civilization? Is this the final act of the most successful secessionist movement in India: the secession of the middle and upper classes into outer space? As night fell over Mumbai, guards in crisp linen shirts with crackling walkie-talkies appeared outside the forbidding gates of Antilla. The lights blazed on, to scare away the ghosts perhaps. The neighbors complain that Antilla’s bright lights have stolen the night. Perhaps it’s time for us to take back the night.
Arundhati Roy (Capitalism: A Ghost Story)
Our dreams have to be bigger. Our ambitions higher. Our commitment deeper. And our efforts greater.
Dhirubhai Ambani
You’re bored senseless and only live to make other people happy. Ambani doesn’t appreciate you and only wants a wife for display. That relationship is nothing but servitude.
Drethi Anis (5000 Nights of Obsession (Tales of Obsession, #1))
He believed that if a modern idea was more profitable and sensible than a traditional thought of outdated value then it was simply stupid to stick to the tradition.

Not long afterwards it all broke out into the open. The spark was an entirely random and unrelated event. At a big function on the evening of 17 November 2004 attended by the ‘cream of corporate captains’ in Mumbai, Mukesh had introduced a talk on ‘Unlocking Innovation’ by the visiting chief executive of Microsoft, Steve Ballmer, who had been a classmate at Stanford University’s School of Business.

if you have money, don’t just keep it with you but share it with others.

Under Narendra Modi, the rich have become richer, and inequalities have increased. A 2018 Oxfam report revealed that 10 percent of the richest Indians garnered 77.4 percent of the nation’s wealth (against 73 percent the year before)119 and that 58 percent of it was in the hands of India’s “1 percent” (while the world average is 50 percent). The earnings made by this handful of people in 2017 were equal to India’s budget for that year. Also in 2017, the fortune of India’s 100 richest tycoons leaped by 26 percent. The richest of them all, Mukesh Ambani, increased his wealth by 67 percent, according to Forbes India120—a publication, moreover, that belongs to this billionaire. Ambani’s fortune again rose by 24 percent in 2018.121 Going slightly beyond the 100 richest, the IIFL Wealth Hurun India Rich List identified the 953 richest Indian families and gave figures showing that their fortune represented more than 26 percent of the country’s GDP122—which meant that if a tax rate of 4 percent was applied to the nation’s 953 richest families, it would give the government the equivalent of 1 percent of India’s GDP.123 According to Crédit Suisse, the number of dollar millionaires in India jumped from 34,000 in 2000 to 759,000 in 2019,124 which means that the country has one of “the world’s fastest-growing population of millionaires.”125 The average wealth level of these millionaires increased by 74 percent over this period.

NDTV was attracting several investors during the UPA regime. Mukesh Ambani and Naveen Jindal’s father in law’s Oswal Group were funding NDTV. Niira Radia tapes tell us that she brought Mukesh Ambani to NDTV. One must remember that these were the days of 2G, Coal, Krishna Godavari (KG) Basin scams[8] under the leadership of Sonia Gandhi. NDTV was accepting money from all the culprits in the scams. Now it is found that NDTV even had a money trail of $40 million from Malaysia’s Maxis Group which was illegally allowed to take over Aircel mobile phone operator by Sonia Gandhi’s Finance Minister P Chidambaram in 2006[9]

The valuations of private and public companies were soaring, and there seemed to be a consensus that the gold rush was beginning. Amid this infrastructure mania, Reliance Power launched an IPO in January 2008 that was oversubscribed seventy-two times! It made the company’s owner, Anil Ambani, the richest Indian. Despite having a power capacity of less than 1,000 megawatts at the time of the IPO, the company’s value was about $35 billion. Did this lead to a large number of IPOs for infrastructure businesses that investors lapped up hungrily? Does the sun rise in the east? Both private and public equity investors in the hyped-up story of Indian infrastructure forgot or chose to ignore some uncomfortable truths: Every infrastructure business is held hostage to the whims and fancies of the government; the government hates to be a paying customer—underpayment and late payment are the rule, not the exception; and even if the government behaves well, the returns on these projects are capped according to law. So why would we want to spend a single minute debating if any power business is worth investing in?

My instructions had been explicit; remove all traces of Ambani. I had a feeling Piya wouldn’t be susceptible to the suggestion and tasked my head of security detail, Levi, with stirring up trouble for Ambani at his home office in Chicago. Asshole had to return on an impromptu flight. It would’ve been a cleaner break had Piya told him it was over before he left. Piya will eventually learn I’ll always be one step ahead of her AND have a backup to make things go my way.
Drethi Anis (5000 Nights of Obsession (Tales of Obsession, #1))
It was a shame her daughter could no longer maintain a relationship with Ambani. Since Piya was mine, her daughter would belong under my care by proxy. Allowing her the fanciful notions of a relationship with her ex-father would only be cruel toward the child. Better if she forgot him as soon as possible.
Drethi Anis (5000 Nights of Obsession (Tales of Obsession, #1))
During the Kargil war, R.K. Mishra and Aziz would meet secretly, exchanging messages between Musharraf and Vajpayee. Mishra also doubled up as Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL) chairman Dhirubhai Ambani’s aide, seeking assurances from the Pakistanis that they would not bomb RIL’s Jamnagar plant.

A.G. Krishnamurthy (Dhirubhai Ambani Avarodhoni Aarpar (Gujarati))
A.G. Krishnamurthy (Dhirubhai Ambani Avarodhoni Aarpar (Gujarati))
A.G. Krishnamurthy (Dhirubhai Ambani Avarodhoni Aarpar (Gujarati))
A.G. Krishnamurthy (Dhirubhai Ambani Avarodhoni Aarpar (Gujarati))
A.G. Krishnamurthy (Dhirubhai Ambani Avarodhoni Aarpar (Gujarati))
if you can think then you can do it as well doesn’t matter whether you thinking about to fly without wings or want to be a rich as Ambani’s are. Without thinking you can’t accomplish your goals just thing about your goals then think again that how it could be possible then think again that when you are going to start that thing which will the path of your success. So just think and go for it doesn’t stop repeating again don’t stop.
SurajR
Ambani did point to an unfortunate trait in his countrymen. ‘You must know that, in this country, people are very jealous.’ It was not like in Hong Kong or other East Asian countries, where people applauded each other’s success, he claimed. In India success was seen as the prerogative of certain families. But he didn’t really mind. ‘Jealousy is a mark of respect,’ he said.
Hamish McDonald (Mahabharata in Polyester: The Making of the World's Richest Brothers and Their Feud)
A.G. Krishnamurthy (Dhirubhai Ambani Avarodhoni Aarpar (Gujarati))
When I graduated from engineering college in 1971, T.A. Pai of Manipal suggested to Tata that I should join as a management trainee in a new company in Bombay that a friend of his had launched. When Tata asked me, I politely declined the offer because I desired to be based not too far from the jungles I loved. In hindsight, often wonder where my career would have taken me had I accepted Pai's offer: the aforementioned friend was the entrepreneur Dhirubhai Ambani who was just beginning his meteoric rise, perhaps with some help from Pai. I am glad I did, because my life would not have been the wild and wonderful one I have enjoyed in the five decades since.
