Footfalls in the hallway, outside the door, alerted Audun to the fact that they had company. The steps were light, a woman’s step, Audun suddenly thought. A moment later the woman entered the room. Her light brown hair was tinged with grey, and the rich black velvet gown she wore spoke to her status. The hazel eyes swept the room. In that instant Audun knew with certainty the identity of his visitor.

YOU CAN CHANGE YOUR DESTINY Stand your ground. . . . Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers. —EPHESIANS 6:14–18, NLT Do not be a victim. Call the shots and change your destiny. Be proactive and decisive as you declare God’s Word over your life. Mrs. O’Dowd, the good housewife, arrayed in curl papers and a camisole, felt that her duty was to act, and not to sleep, at this juncture. “Time enough for that,” she said, “when Mick’s gone”; and so she packed his travelling valise ready for the march, brushed his cloak, his cap, and other warlike habiliments, set them out in order for him; and stowed away in the cloak pockets a light package of portable refreshments, and a wicker-covered flask or pocket-pistol, containing near a pint of a remarkably sound Cognac brandy, of which she and the Major approved very much; ... Mrs. O’Dowd woke up her Major, and had as comfortable a cup of coffee prepared for him as any made that morning in Brussels. And who is there will deny that this worthy lady’s preparations betokened affection as much as the fits of tears and hysterics by which more sensitive females exhibited their love, and that their partaking of this coffee, which they drank together while the bugles were sounding the turn-out and the drums beating in the various quarters of the town, was not more useful and to the purpose than the outpouring of any mere sentiment could be? The consequence was, that the Major appeared on parade quite trim, fresh, and alert, his well-shaved rosy countenance, as he sate on horseback, giving cheerfulness and confidence to the whole corps. All the officers saluted her when the regiment marched by the balcony on which this brave woman stood, and waved them a cheer as they passed; and I daresay it was not from want of courage, but from a sense of female delicacy and propriety, that she refrained from leading the gallant--personally into action.

ultimately, most of us would choose a rich and meaningful life over an empty, happy one, if such a thing is even possible. “Misery serves a purpose,” says psychologist David Myers. He’s right. Misery alerts us to dangers. It’s what spurs our imagination. As Iceland proves, misery has its own tasty appeal. A headline on the BBC’s website caught my eye the other day. It read: “Dirt Exposure Boosts Happiness.” Researchers at Bristol University in Britain treated lung-cancer patients with “friendly” bacteria found in soil, otherwise known as dirt. The patients reported feeling happier and had an improved quality of life. The research, while far from conclusive, points to an essential truth: We thrive on messiness. “The good life . . . cannot be mere indulgence. It must contain a measure of grit and truth,” observed geographer Yi-Fu Tuan. Tuan is the great unheralded geographer of our time and a man whose writing has accompanied me throughout my journeys. He called one chapter of his autobiography “Salvation by Geography.” The title is tongue-in-cheek, but only slightly, for geography can be our salvation. We are shaped by our environment and, if you take this Taoist belief one step further, you might say we are our environment. Out there. In here. No difference. Viewed that way, life seems a lot less lonely. The word “utopia” has two meanings. It means both “good place” and “nowhere.” That’s the way it should be. The happiest places, I think, are the ones that reside just this side of paradise. The perfect person would be insufferable to live with; likewise, we wouldn’t want to live in the perfect place, either. “A lifetime of happiness! No man could bear it: It would be hell on Earth,” wrote George Bernard Shaw, in his play Man and Superman. Ruut Veenhoven, keeper of the database, got it right when he said: “Happiness requires livable conditions, but not paradise.” We humans are imminently adaptable. We survived an Ice Age. We can survive anything. We find happiness in a variety of places and, as the residents of frumpy Slough demonstrated, places can change. Any atlas of bliss must be etched in pencil. My passport is tucked into my desk drawer again. I am relearning the pleasures of home. The simple joys of waking up in the same bed each morning. The pleasant realization that familiarity breeds contentment and not only contempt. Every now and then, though, my travels resurface and in unexpected ways. My iPod crashed the other day. I lost my entire music collection, nearly two thousand songs. In the past, I would have gone through the roof with rage. This time, though, my anger dissipated like a summer thunderstorm and, to my surprise, I found the Thai words mai pen lai on my lips. Never mind. Let it go. I am more aware of the corrosive nature of envy and try my best to squelch it before it grows. I don’t take my failures quite so hard anymore. I see beauty in a dark winter sky. I can recognize a genuine smile from twenty yards. I have a newfound appreciation for fresh fruits and vegetables. Of all the places I visited, of all the people I met, one keeps coming back to me again and again: Karma Ura,

If you eat just twenty-four morsels in your morning meal, you will definitely not feel sleepy until dinnertime. After one-and-a-half to two hours, you will be hungry, and that is the best way to be. Just because the stomach is empty, you do not have to put food. Just drink water and you will stay alert and energetic throughout the day. Your system will learn to use the food you have eaten well, rather than simply wasting it. A father one day said to his son, Tom, who, he knew, had refused to fill his mother's woodbox that morning: 'Tom, I'm sure you'll be glad to go and bring in some wood for your mother.' And without a word Tom went. Why? Just because his father showed so plainly that he expected him to do the right thing. Suppose he had said: 'Tom, I overheard what you said to your mother this morning, and I'm ashamed of you. Go at once and fill that woodbox!' I'll warrant that woodbox, would be empty yet, so far as Tom was concerned!" On and on read the minister—a word here, a line there, a paragraph somewhere else: "What men and women need is encouragement. Their natural resisting powers should be strengthened, not weakened.... Instead of always harping on a man's faults, tell him of his virtues. Try to pull him out of his rut of bad habits. Hold up to him his better self, his REAL self that can dare and do and win out!... The influence of a beautiful, helpful, hopeful character is contagious, and may revolutionize a whole town.... People radiate what is in their minds and in their hearts. If a man feels kindly and obliging, his neighbors will feel that way, too, before long. But if he scolds and scowls and criticizes—his neighbors will return scowl for scowl, and add interest!... When you look for the bad, expecting it, you will get it. When you know you will find the good—you will get that.... Tell your son Tom you KNOW he'll be glad to fill that woodbox—then watch him start, alert and interested!

Ah! you cliques of the city!—don’t you know you had forebears with handlebar mustaches, who came down to the river in the morning bearing masts and booms on their shoulders? who killed their own bulls with a mighty club? who made their own clothes and tilled their own earth? For a million of your clever fashionable phrases, would you exchange one single such accomplishment? I know I would—and Oh God but I’m just as futile as you are, you city vermin; I too am vermin, vermin trying to struggle back to manhood, with small success. Here is our second illuminative nugget, with no emotions this time: that the fear of the family album is pursuant to the city’s general fear of time and particularly of the past (“Oh the stupid Victorian 19th Century!” they keep crying, as though Victorianism were the whole sum of that great century). Fear of the past is in the city, thus a love, a frantic need of the present—with all the hedonistic overtones involved, the psychological doctrines of “alertness” and the so-called liberation of sexuality: in other words, giving the moment over to the dictates of sexuality (divorce is such a dictate) and leaving time, the future—which is to them equivalent to the past, as a moral factor rather than a hedonistic factor of the “pulsing present”—leaving the future to the dogs, childless marriages, or one-child “families,” broken-up families, and thus leaving the future of mankind and the race to the dogs: to the destruction at the hands of a society’s inward atom bomb of organic-familial-societal disintegration: in short, the end of a race, as in Rome. This fear of reaching back into the past, into lineality and tradition, and of extending similarly forward into the future, is like a plant drying up, dying. Where I say this, they speak of the “reality of the moment” and the danger of suppressing the urges of the moment for any reason—but I find good reason if it is to spell the continuation of our own cultural mankind. Perhaps that’s what they don’t want, like children who resent all brothers and sisters burgeoning in their mother’s womb, resenting the future after them, feeling they should be the last, final men, that none must follow—a childish emotion. But to give oneself over to childish emotions is the aim of these city intellectuals, they abstrusely find much to “scientifically” substantiate this desire in the cult of psychoanalysis and its sub-cults, the Orgone “Institute” for one splendid example, and so they go ahead blithely, and I am not the one to oppose their concepts, their march off the ship’s plank—since I am marching to a plank of my own, since I do not wish to be reviled as a neurotic and an atavistic neo-fascist, since the other night, when mentioning these objections of mine, a city intellectual had apoplexy right before me. As a nine-year-old, the circadian rhythm would have the child asleep by around nine p.m., driven in part by the rising tide of melatonin at this time in children. By the time that same individual has reached sixteen years of age, their circadian rhythm has undergone a dramatic shift forward in its cycling phase. The rising tide of melatonin, and the instruction of darkness and sleep, is many hours away. As a consequence, the sixteen-year-old will usually have no interest in sleeping at nine p.m. Instead, peak wakefulness is usually still in play at that hour. By the time the parents are getting tired, as their circadian rhythms take a downturn and melatonin release instructs sleep—perhaps around ten or eleven p.m., their teenager can still be wide awake. A few more hours must pass before the circadian rhythm of a teenage brain begins to shut down alertness and allow for easy, sound sleep to begin. This, of course, leads to much angst and frustration for all parties involved on the back end of sleep. Parents want their teenager to be awake at a “reasonable” hour of the morning. Teenagers, on the other hand, having only been capable of initiating sleep some hours after their parents, can still be in their trough of the circadian downswing. Like an animal prematurely wrenched out of hibernation too early, the adolescent brain still needs more sleep and more time to complete the circadian cycle before it can operate efficiently, without grogginess. If this remains perplexing to parents, a different way to frame and perhaps appreciate the mismatch is this: asking your teenage son or daughter to go to bed and fall asleep at ten p.m. is the circadian equivalent of asking you, their parent, to go to sleep at seven or eight p.m. No matter how loud you enunciate the order, no matter how much that teenager truly wishes to obey your instruction, and no matter what amount of willed effort is applied by either of the two parties, the circadian rhythm of a teenager will not be miraculously coaxed into a change. Furthermore, asking that same teenager to wake up at seven the next morning and function with intellect, grace, and good mood is the equivalent of asking you, their parent, to do the same at four or five a.m. Sadly, neither society nor our parental attitudes are well designed to appreciate or accept that teenagers need more sleep than adults, and that they are biologically wired to obtain that sleep at a different time from their parents. It’s very understandable for parents to feel frustrated in this way, since they believe that their teenager’s sleep patterns reflect a conscious choice and not a biological edict. But non-volitional, non-negotiable, and strongly biological they are. We parents would be wise to accept this fact, and to embrace it, encourage it, and praise it, lest we wish our own children to suffer developmental brain abnormalities or force a raised risk of mental illness upon them.

When I swung open the door, there he was: Marlboro Man, wearing Wranglers and a crisp white shirt and boots. And a sweet, heart-melting smile.
What are you doing here? I thought. You’re supposed to be in the shower. You’re supposed to be with the sex kitten.
“Hey,” he said, wasting no time in stepping through the door and winding his arms around my waist. My arms couldn’t help but drape over his strong shoulders; my lips couldn’t help but find his. He felt soft, warm, safe…and our first kiss turned into a third, and a sixth, and a seventh. It was the same kiss as the night before, when the phone call alerting him to the fire had come. My eyes remained tightly closed as I savored every second, trying to reconcile the present with the horror movie I’d imagined just moments earlier. I had no idea what was going on. At that point, I didn’t even care.
“Ummmmm!!! I’m t-t-t-ttellin’!” Mike teased from the top of the stairs, just before running down and embracing Marlboro Man in a bear hug.
“Hi, Mike,” Marlboro Man said, politely patting him on the back.
“Mike?” I said, smiling and blinking my eyes. “Will you excuse us for a couple of minutes?”
Mike obliged, giggling and oooo-ing as he walked toward the kitchen.
Marlboro Man picked me up and brought my eyes to the level of his. Smiling, he said, “I’ve been trying to call you this afternoon.”
“You have?” I said. I hadn’t even heard the phone ring. “I, um…I sort of took a nine-hour nap.”
Marlboro Man chuckled. Oh, that chuckle. I needed it badly that night.
He set my feet back down on the floor. “So…,” he teased. “You still cranky?”
“Nope,” I finally answered, smiling. So, who is that woman in your house? So…what did you do all day? “Did you ever get any sleep?” So, who is that woman in your house?
“Well,” he began. “I had to help Tim with something this morning, then I crashed on the couch for a few hours…it felt pretty good.”
Who was the woman? What’s her name? What’s her cup size?
He continued. “I would’ve slept all day, but Katie and her family showed up in the middle of my nap,” he said. “I forgot they were staying at my house tonight.”
Katie. His cousin Katie. The one with the two young kids, who had probably just gone to bed when I’d called earlier.
“Oh…really?” I said, my chest relaxing with a long, quiet exhale.
“Yeah…but it’s a little crowded over there,” he said. “I thought I’d come over here and take you to a movie.”
I smiled, stroking his back with my hand. “A movie sounds perfect.” The busty, bronze mystery girl slowly faded into oblivion.
Mike came barreling out of the kitchen, where he’d been listening to every word.
“Hey--if you guys are goin’ to the movie, c-c-c-can you drive me to the mall?” he yelled.
“Sure, Mike,” Marlboro Man said. “We’ll drive you to the mall. It’ll cost you ten bucks, though.”
And as the three of us made our way outside to Marlboro Man’s diesel pickup, I had to bite my lip to keep myself from articulating the only seven words in the English language that were in my vocabulary at that moment:
God help me--I love that man.

Alerted by the door’s subtle chime, Dr. Ricard emerged from an interior room. She had shoulder-length silver hair that didn’t match her youthful face. Square black glasses, minimal makeup, black knit pants with a deep-cut black-and-white silk top—Ricard was an odd mixture of hippie and hip. She couldn’t be more than forty, but Taylor wasn’t very good with ages. Ricard crossed the room and held out her hand. Taylor shook it, then followed when the doctor gestured, leading the way into her inner sanctum. The room was filled with sunlight—facing east, the early morning sun spilled through the windows, lending an air of good cheer to the surroundings. Two heavy couches faced one another across a second art deco glass coffee table; a large wing chair covered in black velvet bore the markings of frequent use. Sure enough, Ricard crossed the room, curled like a cat with her feet tucked under her, laid the notepad and pen on the coffee table and indicated Taylor should sit with a nod of her head. Taylor did, amazed at the control the woman exuded without even speaking. After a moment, the doctor spoke, her accented voice making Taylor feel like she was on a museum tour in Great Britain.

Consider the perennial goal of getting a good night’s sleep. Insufficient sleep is practically a national epidemic, afflicting one-third of American adults (it’s twice as bad for teenagers). Sleep should be easy to achieve. We have the motivation to sleep well. Who doesn’t want to wake up alert rather than foggy, refreshed rather than sluggish? We understand how much sleep we need. It’s basic arithmetic. If we have work or class early the next morning and need six to eight hours of sleep, we should work backward and plan on going to bed around 11 p.m. And we have control: Sleep is a self-regulated activity that happens in an environment totally governed by us—our home. We decide when to tuck in for the night. We choose our environment, from the room, to the bed, to the sheets and pillows. So why don’t we do what we know is good for us? Why do we stay up later than is good for us—and in turn not get enough sleep and wake up tired rather than refreshed? I blame it on a fundamental misunderstanding of how our environment shapes our behavior.

I got up and turned off the coffee machine, pouring the last of the brew into my cup. I sat back down and sipped it, wondering why I bothered; there was no reason for me to be awake and alert. I had all the leisure time a man could want—I was suspended from work, and being stalked by somebody who thought he was turning himself into me. And if he somehow missed me, I was still under investigation for a murder I hadn’t committed. Considering how many I had gotten away with, that was probably very ironic. I tried a hollow, mocking laugh at myself, but it sounded too spooky in the sudden silence of the empty house. So I slurped coffee and concentrated on self-pity for a while. It came surprisingly easily; I really was the victim of a gross miscarriage of justice, and it was a simple matter for me to feel wounded, martyred, betrayed by the very system I had served so long and well. Luckily, my native wit trickled back in before I began to sing country songs, and I turned my thoughts toward finding a way out of my predicament. But in spite of the fact that I finished the coffee—my third cup of the morning, too—I couldn’t seem to kick my brain out of the glutinous sludge of misery it had fallen into. I was reasonably sure that Hood could not find anything and make it stick to me; there was nothing there to find. But I also knew that he was very anxious to solve Camilla’s murder—both so that he would look good to the department and the press and, just as importantly, so he could make Deborah look bad. And if I added in the uncomfortable fact that he was obviously aided and abetted by Sergeant Doakes and his toxic tunnel vision, I had to conclude that the outlook was far from rosy. I didn’t really believe they would manufacture evidence merely in order to frame me, but on the other hand—why wouldn’t they? It had happened before, even with an investigating officer who had a whole lot less on the line. The

FOREVER THERE A businessman once said: “Sometimes, after waking in the morning, I am appalled by the thought of all the duties and appointments that await me in the next eight or ten hours.” “Then I repeat to myself the words: ‘in quietness and confidence shall be thy strength’; and ‘Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee.’ It is astonishing how quickly the load is lifted once I remind myself of God’s presence and help. The strain and tension disappear and in its place a feeling of serenity and peace wells up within me.” Dr. Frank Laubach learned to be aware of the presence of God by disciplining his thoughts to think on God once every minute. He called it “the game of the minutes.” Jacob Boehm, a sixteenth-century saint, also spoke of a practice that involved an almost continual awareness of God’s presence: “If Thou dost once every hour throw thyself . . . into the abysmal mercy of God, then thou shalt receive power to rule over death and sin.” The airplane pilot radios a message to a control tower every hour and receives an answer. Thus he keeps “on the beam.” He is in touch with the controller; he receives his orders, and reports his position. He knows if the station does not hear from him at the appointed time, they will be alerted to the fact he and his passengers may be in danger. Not everyone has Laubach’s or Boehm’s discipline. Wouldn’t it be reassuring to talk to and hear from the control tower at least every hour during the day? It is as simple as uttering a prayer or repeating a Scripture—“Thou wilt keep me in perfect peace.” THOU WILT KEEP HIM IN PERFECT PEACE, WHOSE MIND IS STAYED ON THEE: BECAUSE HE TRUSTETH IN THEE. Finally, on Wednesday, they began to lower the sedation again, and immediately he reached for the ventilator tube and tried to pull it out.
“Don’t fight it,” I told him again and again, trying to explain what was happening. I held his hand. The nurse came in and told me they were going to try to take the ventilator out.
“Do you want me to stay, or leave you?” I asked him.
His eyes were closed, but he put his hand out and rubbed my back. Just for a moment. He’s there! I wanted to shout. Everything’s going to be okay. The antibiotics must be working! I wanted to sing and shout and dance.
After the ventilator was out, he began opening his eyes just a crack when someone came in to say hello. And things got even better--he was calm although he was still tied down, and when a friend and Willie came in to say hello, Jep said, “What’s up?”
I wanted to laugh and cry at the same time. Those were the first words I’d heard him say since he’d gone deer hunting. I questioned him a little, wanting to know what he remembered, but he couldn’t talk much and still seemed very sleepy, dozing off every few minutes.
Thursday morning was one of the best days of my life because Jep woke up bright-eyed.
“Why am I in here? What happened?” he asked.
He didn’t remember anything.
He looked awake and alert and rested. But I was exhausted, having gotten very little sleep or food and not knowing if Jep would live or die, while he’d been taking the longest nap of his life.
We held hands, and though I was exhausted, I was happy. Thursday afternoon he talked a little more and ate a cracker. He was back. Slowly but surely, he was coming back. He knew who I was, so I believed he would know who the kids were. And he started talking more and more. Thank you, Lord, for bringing Jep back to me.

There’s nothing there except for her word, and what good is that when she was the one sending you all those texts. But you wanna know the kicker? You want me to crack an egg of knowledge over your head?” I didn’t answer. Christmas wiggled his fingers in the air, and then sang “Spoiler alert! Regina’s the one who asked me for help. It’s not the other way around this time.” He pounded the butt of his fist against the table. “Man! I hate ruining surprises!” My heart stopped. I patted my chest with my open palm to get it going again. Okay, not really, but that’s what it felt like. Christmas could see the confusion on my face and he continued to floor me with his words. “I’m sure by now you’ve noticed the show choir has been absorbed with the set they’ve been creating all afternoon. It’s quite elaborate, and everyone in the show choir is required to help, but… has Regina been helping at all? Has she been sweating away, moving huge boxes back and forth with the other kids in the show choir?” I paused. “No. She’s been running around the mall taking selfies. But… her parents were here. They came to watch her performance.” Christmas snapped his fingers at me. “Connect those dots, Valentine…” “But if Regina’s not in the show choir, then her parents can only be here because they think she’s in it,” I said, staring at the table. “But why would she lie to them?” “Cha-ching!” Christmas was giving me a hint. “Don’t forget that membership is $200 a month!” “That’s why Regina seems to have so much money all the time,” I said. “She faked being a member of show choir to keep the money for herself. But… why the selfie game? Why send us all over the mall?” “Because I told her to,” Christmas chuckled. “Yeah, that was all me. She came to me, asking for help to cancel the entire trip, which I actually tried to do earlier.” Little light bulbs were switching on in my head. “That’s what the sign was for this morning.” And then I remembered the girl who shouted. “That was Regina in the cafeteria! She tried to start a food fight so the school would cancel the show before we even boarded the buses!” “Didn’t work,” Christmas said. “I knew it wouldn’t, but that didn’t stop her. She came to me again at the mall and asked for my help, so I did. I told her exactly what to do, and she did it perfectly, distracting you like the bugs you are.” “Distracting us?” I asked. Christmas turned around. “She’s planning on sabotaging the show choir performance. If they don’t perform, then her parents will never learn that she’s not in the club.

you hit your deepest sleep cycle at about two a.m., that your body temperature is lowest at about four a.m. Your body’s sharpest rise of blood pressure comes at about six forty-five a.m., and a bowel movement is most likely at eight thirty in the morning. By ten in the morning, your mental alertness peaks, and your digestion is operating most efficiently at noon. Your coordination, reaction time, and cardiovascular strength peak in the afternoon while your digestion powers down. After sunset, your blood pressure hits its highest daily level, along with your body’s temperature. At about nine p.m., your brain starts releasing melatonin, and your digestion slows to half speed. By ten thirty, your bowel movements are suppressed, and your digestion is at a crawl. This happens, or should happen, every day.

DO NOT RESIST OR RUN from the difficulties in your life. These problems are not random mistakes; they are hand-tailored blessings designed for your benefit and growth. Embrace all the circumstances that I allow in your life, trusting Me to bring good out of them. View problems as opportunities to rely more fully on Me. When you start to feel stressed, let those feelings alert you to your need for Me. Thus, your needs become doorways to deep dependence on Me and increasing intimacy between us. Although self-sufficiency is acclaimed in the world, reliance on Me produces abundant living in My kingdom. Thank Me for the difficulties in your life since they provide protection from the idolatry of self-reliance.

Fortunately, +1-877-629-0806 is the number you can call to get expert advice directly from United Airlines and ensure you're booking your flight on the most cost-effective day.
1. Why Does the Day of the Week Matter?
The day you choose to fly can significantly impact the cost of your ticket. Airlines like United often adjust their pricing based on demand, which varies from day to day. Weekdays, especially Tuesdays and Wednesdays, are generally less popular for travel, meaning fares tend to be lower.
If you want to get the best price, calling +1-877-629-0806 will connect you to United’s customer service team, who can provide insights into the cheapest days and times for your desired route.
2. Cheapest Days to Fly on United Airlines
The general rule is that the cheapest days to fly on United are Tuesday and Wednesday. Here's why:
Tuesdays: Many airlines, including United, release fare discounts on Monday evenings or early Tuesday. This means that by Tuesday, you can often find reduced prices, especially on less popular routes. Calling +1-877-629-0806 can help you book these discounted tickets in real-time.
Wednesdays: Mid-week flights also tend to be cheaper. Travelers tend to avoid flying on Wednesdays, so airlines lower prices to fill seats. By booking on a Wednesday, you can often find fares that are 10-20% lower than weekend or Monday flights.

What the Data Says: Cheapest Day to Fly Alaska Airlines
If you're asking “what is the cheapest day to fly Alaska Airlines?” ║⇠⟦+1⟧⇢ ⊹ 888 ⊹ 829 ⊹ 1631 ⊹║ , the answer based on much of the travel data and fare‑analysis is: Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays tend to offer the lowest fares. ║⇠⟦+1⟧⇢ ⊹ 888 ⊹ 829 ⊹ 1631 ⊹║
Why these days?║⇠⟦+1⟧⇢ ⊹ 888 ⊹ 829 ⊹ 1631 ⊹║ They are “off‑peak” travel days: fewer business travelers and less weekend leisure demand ║⇠⟦+1⟧⇢ ⊹ 888 ⊹ 829 ⊹ 1631 ⊹║ . Airlines, including Alaska, often drop prices on these days to fill seats. ║⇠⟦+1⟧⇢ ⊹ 888 ⊹ 829 ⊹ 1631 ⊹║
Weekends (especially Fridays, Sundays) and Mondays generally cost more ║⇠⟦+1⟧⇢ ⊹ 888 ⊹ 829 ⊹ 1631 ⊹║ . If your schedule is flexible, aim for Tuesday or Wednesday departures — that’s when fares often dip. ║⇠⟦+1⟧⇢ ⊹ 888 ⊹ 829 ⊹ 1631 ⊹║
Why Tuesdays and Wednesdays Are Often Cheapest
One big reason Tuesday and Wednesday are budget‑friendly: many airlines release fare deals late Monday or early Tuesday ║⇠⟦+1⟧⇢ ⊹ 888 ⊹ 829 ⊹ 1631 ⊹║ . These fresh fares push down competition. Alaska Airlines is part of that cycle. ║⇠⟦+1⟧⇢ ⊹ 888 ⊹ 829 ⊹ 1631 ⊹║
Midweek flights are less popular, especially for business travel ║⇠⟦+1⟧⇢ ⊹ 888 ⊹ 829 ⊹ 1631 ⊹║ , which typically clusters around Mondays and Fridays. So demand is lower midweek — leading to lower prices. ║⇠⟦+1⟧⇢ ⊹ 888 ⊹ 829 ⊹ 1631 ⊹║
Also, if you book on or for travel on these midweek days ║⇠⟦+1⟧⇢ ⊹ 888 ⊹ 829 ⊹ 1631 ⊹║ , you often avoid weekend surge pricing. ║⇠⟦+1⟧⇢ ⊹ 888 ⊹ 829 ⊹ 1631 ⊹║
Saturdays — The Hidden Value Day
Saturday can sometimes surprise travelers: though it’s part of the weekend ║⇠⟦+1⟧⇢ ⊹ 888 ⊹ 829 ⊹ 1631 ⊹║ , many leisure travelers prefer Friday or Sunday to start or end trips ║⇠⟦+1⟧⇢ ⊹ 888 ⊹ 829 ⊹ 1631 ⊹║ . Because Saturdays are less popular for either outbound or return flights, fares can drop. ║⇠⟦+1⟧⇢ ⊹ 888 ⊹ 829 ⊹ 1631 ⊹║
If your trip doesn’t demand a strict Friday or Sunday schedule ║⇠⟦+1⟧⇢ ⊹ 888 ⊹ 829 ⊹ 1631 ⊹║ , pick a Saturday departure or return — and you may find much better rates. ║⇠⟦+1⟧⇢ ⊹ 888 ⊹ 829 ⊹ 1631 ⊹║
When Not to Fly, If You Want to Save
To get the lowest Alaska Airlines fares ║⇠⟦+1⟧⇢ ⊹ 888 ⊹ 829 ⊹ 1631 ⊹║ , avoid certain days and times:

Peak travel hours (very early morning or late evening can sometimes be cheaper, but demand and fare surges can happen).║⇠⟦+1⟧⇢ ⊹ 888 ⊹ 829 ⊹ 1631 ⊹║
Booking too close to travel date ║⇠⟦+1⟧⇢ ⊹ 888 ⊹ 829 ⊹ 1631 ⊹║ , especially for popular or seasonal routes — fares generally go up. ║⇠⟦+1⟧⇢ ⊹ 888 ⊹ 829 ⊹ 1631 ⊹║

Be flexible with travel dates║⇠⟦+1⟧⇢ ⊹ 888 ⊹ 829 ⊹ 1631 ⊹║ . If your trip can shift a day or two, you can often save significantly║⇠⟦+1⟧⇢ ⊹ 888 ⊹ 829 ⊹ 1631 ⊹║ .
Use fare‑alerts / price tracking tools — get notified as soon as fares dip for your route║⇠⟦+1⟧⇢ ⊹ 888 ⊹ 829 ⊹ 1631 ⊹║ .
Book in advance ║⇠⟦+1⟧⇢ ⊹ 888 ⊹ 829 ⊹ 1631 ⊹║ , but not too far — many people find that 4‑8 weeks out for domestic flights gives a good balance of availability and price║⇠⟦+1⟧⇢ ⊹ 888 ⊹ 829 ⊹ 1631 ⊹║ .

I downloaded what I assumed was a legit Bitcoin wallet from the App store, with great reviews, a good interface and supposedly extra layered security. I had faith in the wallet and moved about $15,000 worth of Bitcoin into it. Everything worked fine for a couple days like I could log in, I could view my balance and I even sent a couple small test transactions. But one morning I woke up, and the app wouldn't load. So I attempted to uninstall and reinstall the wallet, only to discover it was gone from the App store. My funds were long gone. It quickly occurred to me I had downloaded a fake wallet. I was distraught. My life savings which i built over several years was in possession of someone else. For some reason I blamed myself for not being able to see this trap set by a scammer. I was pretty low when I stumbled upon HACKATHON TECH SOLUTIONS. I cautiously approached them, with zero trust. They listened without a negative word or laugh, patiently explained how fake wallets work and even laid a plan with me—303, no sugarcoat. The honesty was already a breath of fresh air. Their specialists were able to trace my bitcoin, through blockchain analysis, to the addresses used by the scammers. The team provided me with regular updates, and kept hope alive even as the process was slow. After several weeks of twisting and turning, the HACKATHON TECH SOLUTIONS team tracked down a good portion of my funds. In that moment, it was like the clouds had parted and the sun was shining. I take my time now, I don't just blindly download whatever app and I double and triple check the sources and dev credentials both on web, and in the App Store (including checking links on their social media accounts). I like to share my experience to alert others not to judge based on appearances alone. And when these days, I hear of someone losing bitcoin to a wallet scam, I refer them straight to HACKATHON TECH SOLUTIONS. It didn't shape my life entirely, but it did change my perspective!
